HAHAHAHA So, let me get this straight. He's trying to say "We're like Ben Franklin, we're innovators and people criticized us too!" Even though he's the one trying to halt progress and stifle innovation because "well you don't need it". Yeah, right.
They're also saying that they're Benjamin Franklin who viciously stole, oppressed and exploited Nikola Tesla. So they're saying that they steal, oppress and exploit just like Benjamin Franklin. And imho it's comcast so they're not that far off.
You guys with your 1Gbps speeds, and here I am in England stuck with these speeds Why can't Google come to the UK and do something about our internet speeds?
I wouldn't be complaining. EDIT: You just made me look up reviews of my ISP, the average rating is a 1/5 in my area. So nevermind that then.

I am lucky to get half that much. Don't go shoving your great speedtest in this thread just to brag, it makes you look like a gigantic douchebag.
Our dependence on the internet is growing so we need to have higher speeds to accommodate this, if we don't it'll be hell Right now we have 750kb/s being split to everything in this household, 2 tablets, 2 phones, 1 big computer, 6 laptops and 2 smart TV's, It's enough for what we need, we rarely use the smart TV services and most of us just browse Facebook and download the odd movie here and there oh and a 100gb limit
You guys with your 1Gbps speeds, and here I am in England stuck with these speeds Why can't Google come to the UK and do something about our internet speeds?
Until just a few months ago, my internet maxed out at 150 kb a second. Stop complaining.
I get all the hate for Comcast, but I get excellent speeds, the 250GB limit is disabled in this area... or something, and they upped our speeds not long ago with no price hike. I'll stick with them until Google gets here.

Or at least become banworthy, it always starts the same thing and has little to no relevance to the thread besides an e-peen off.
Yeah I don't need fucking air conditioning either. :suicide:
I don't need AC in my jeep, but goddamn do i want it right now. Also i was on a 3 meg line for a good while with my machine, phone, and laptop, plus brother's machine, mom's machine and phone, sisters machine and phone, sisters boyfriend's machine, PS3, and xbox, and dad's laptop, laptop 2, phone, downstairs workstation, house server, plus the Wii in the living room. Shit sucked. And then I found out that our ISP's minimum package was actually a 5 meg line for the same price as what we were already paying. That was also the fastest available for our area since they were the only ones there.
I feel like this is relevant.
Are you being sarcastic or what? I'm stuck with 3 Mb/s.
Stuck with 3 Mb/s you poor soul Google should come to straya, they would get millions off of all the people that are sick of Telstras fucking bullshit shoutout to 400-500kb/s
Stfu comcast. Small asian developing countries have better internet than America does.
Stuck with 3 Mb/s you poor soul
He may have typed it wrong.
I live in a household that has 4 other family members that use services such as Netflix and the occasional torrenting. We're having trouble with bandwidth on a Comcast business class connection, which apparently in their eyes is enough for a small business with 10-15 computers. We can't get a different, faster, and more reliable service because our only choices are AT&T and Comcast. Our area almost had FiOS but Verizon made a deal of sorts with Comcast and AT&T and now they're the only ISP's for several counties. Fucking bullshit. So if a Comcast exec wants to say shit like this it just infuriates me, they are nothing but greedy assholes that won't do a damn thing unless some sort of competitor they can't bribe/takeover starts taking their customers.

Yes because I want to pay 170+ a month for shitty internet and tv. (I do this and it makes me sad)
When my friends are here, we have up to 9 devices or so connected to our atrocious 768k speeds. Of course, the connection disconnects from strain before anyone can actually get through, but there's no way 1gb/s would solve that right? Go away comcast, you're the EA of the telecommunications industry.
Go away comcast, you're the EA of the telecommunications industry.
Comcast is pretty mediocre, Time Warner is the worst.
Comcast's internet for me alternates between being fine and then suddenly being really shitty and slow for a few days. I also have a 250GB cap, which you reach really quickly when streaming or downloading linux distros.
How do you stream a linux distro?
Comcast sucks.
I feel like this is relevant.
it hurts that this is so true
He may have typed it wrong.
If he's anything like me, he didn't. I get even less than that. At least I still don't have dial-up like some poor saps around here. I still count myself lucky.
You guys with your 1Gbps speeds, and here I am in England stuck with these speeds Why can't Google come to the UK and do something about our internet speeds?
Dude, i'm paying like 50 bucks a month for this shit:

But if speedtest.net formats it that way... Oh well. Regardless, I am very familiar with 3 meg lines... Ugh those were dark times... Then I moved out and now I get a 30 meg line. For $30/month
This is what we said when we had dial-up. "Who needs that much speed? All we need to do is have simple text exchanges. What could we possible do with more than that?" Then a few decades later we have instant streaming movies and games at a moment's notice. What will come from Gbps lines? I have no idea, I can't predict the future. But whatever it is, it will be fucking awesome.
256 player WWII simulators.
Bullshit. I can't even Skype my girlfriend with my current internet situation if anyone else in the house is watching a video on netflix/youtube. I'm blessed that our 6 Mb/s is fiber, so unless someone here is downloading anything it never fluctuates. But the speed really is hard with a household of 5. Living in a rural area with one provider sucks, considering they charge $50 for this package. A 10 M package is $90. You want 50 M? That'll be $340. There's no fucking way anyone here can afford that.
