the escape segments were fun IMO. They gave you, or forced you, to use all the neat abilities over the course of the game
sure maybe they get better in the late game, but I'm not entirely sure spawning one of those detection circles right on top of you and making it expand faster than you can drive is a good thing to do in the early game. and the escape sequences did that to me constantly

All I did in watch_dogs was shoot minorities. I sincerely hope that they don't keep the le funi memes in the sequel.

I guarantee there will be NPCs using selfie sticks. Calling it now. [editline]30th April 2015[/editline] But yeah, I had fun with the game with it came out. I was a little disappointed, but it certainly wasn't trash like everyone and their dog made it out to be. Just unpolished. Then again, I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have performance issues. :v: I hope they do make the story more interesting though. The story was more an excuse to come up with situations than actually interesting on its own merit.
Aside from the buggy launch, tepid reception, and graphics controversy, Watch Dogs isn't a very good game. It's so by the numbers you can predict the story twists long before you see them, and the gameplay is "not as good as GTA" open world with some "not as good as Assassin's Creed" parkour. There isn't anything at all bad about the game that comes to mind, it's just a dull grey criminal open world game, and if it didn't have the hype Ubisoft pushed it with it probably wouldn't have been a blip on most people's radar.

Watch_Dogs is one of the few games I've seen in recent history where even casual gamers (i.e. the people that buy the regular big releases because they're the regular big releases) realized simply how bland the game was. Not even that the game was bad, just that it was a waste of time and money. That, to me, is a clear sign that the game was poorly done.
I only bought the game for the "joining someone else's game" aspect which was quickly ruined for me when A: Everyone used the fucking grenade launcher and made it boring as shit to hack them and B: When I figured out you can press Escape and if the game doesn't pause then someone is in your game
Seeing as though the first Watch_Dogs was a smashing success, I can't see why they wouldn't make a sequel.
Am I missing the joke? I played Watch Dogs and it was a really enjoyable game. The marketing hype and misrepresentation of the final product in the marketing leading up to release was really bad, but the game itself was still really fun I thought. Didn't know it was such a laughing stock.
Spider tank is really really fun. I hope the sequel has more of it. hell, I'd prefer they skip watch dogs 2 and go straight to making spider tank its own video game
