Gaming journalism is a joke and will always be a joke.
you mean because I could do it since it costs eh about how ever much "new game you want" is and is all based on opinion mostly, games like ride to hell aren't opinion they are shit.
I wish people would stop giving enough of a shit about gaming journalism to actually ignore it majority of the attention and views they get are from people who are pissed off and only go there to get angry about how much they dislike it i seriously just want to play video games and if i want a review or a reccomendation i go ask somebody or watch a reviewer i trust or something, these journalism industries only gain the power you give them
I feel bad for game devs. They have to pander to these people or else they risk a loss of sales due to lack of coverage. Unless you're David Jaffe, you can't get away with telling Kotaku to go fuck themselves.
I honestly wanna know where we can turn to, because every form of leftist publication has insulted us to our face. Soooo, where else should we go?
Regardless of whether or not Breibart is biased, if the man has evidence then the man has evidence. There doesn't seem to have been any rebuttal by the major websites right now, so there currently is nothing to refute it. Indeed, if what he tweeted is correct ("A word of caution to list members: I've seen a lot more than we've published so far. So be careful with those denials."), then perhaps we won't see too marked a denial any time soon. All we can do is wait - and if it turns out it's true, laugh and cry.
I'm still confused on how any of this has to do with feminism I thought she had to use her body to get by in a industry, and thats kinda against feminism
What's next? Valve releasing a fully functioning and GOTYAY-worthy Half-Life 3 and then pulling it back before only a few loonies take pictures?
I'm still confused on how any of this has to do with feminism I thought she had to use her body to get by in a industry, and thats kinda against feminism
Many of these game journalists use feminism as a shield because it lets them easily villainize anyone who opposes them, and it helps them convince people to join their side. It's not proper "feminism" but they're desperately trying to get people to think it is.
I'm still confused on how any of this has to do with feminism I thought she had to use her body to get by in a industry, and thats kinda against feminism
It's not feminism. It's a group of opportunists creating outrage over stuff for clickbait ad revenue and shutting out anyone that doesn't support the cartel, including actual feminist projects like TFYC.

It's happening. It's really fucking happening. This is amazing.

All we can do is wait - and if it turns out it's true, laugh and cry.
I really want to point this out (bolded part) Throughout this ordeal, #GG has come up with all sorts of evidence and what not, and everytime, the 'other' side (I really don't know what to call them at this point) just put their hands over their ears and go "lalala no you're wrong we can't disprove you but you're still wrong lalala" If all of this never happened, if all the evidence is falsified, then they need to stand up and show it. You could argue that the people who brought forward all this evidence also need to show it's legitimacy, but because no-one has tried to seriously refute it, I (and many others) are more inclined to believe them. If someone, somewhere, can refute all of this (Such as "Article X says Person Y said this on this date, but when in actual fact, they were at Z at that time, and I can prove this with pictures, tweets etc." or the like) then they need to say so. Like, right now.

I'm not sure how this is scandalous. It's not that surprising that a bunch of people in a relatively small field would be in contact with each other, and the only major fact I got from the emails was that the writers wanted to avoid reporting on Quinn's sex life. A bunch of the gaming sites have already published articles on GamerGate, so it's not like there's a coordinated effort to cover up the situation.
I made Gaming Illuminati jokes before but seriously? Is this really real?
wake up sheeple, the gaming illuminati is everywhere
I just can't believe how quick people are to deny this shit. I'm sure most people who think gamergate is stupid will whole heartedly deny it
I just can't believe how quick people are to deny this shit. I'm sure most people who think gamergate is stupid will whole heartedly deny it
I'd be more surprised if there wasn't something like this in place. Politicians, corporate leaders, and even other journalists do this kind of shit, why not gaming journalists?
I'd be more surprised if there wasn't something like this in place. When enough people managed to catch wind, it was ended and people were forced to resign.
Well it would explain how the whole "Death of Gamers" trend of articles got posted over the span of 2 days.
I got banned on /v/ for posting about this. "Ban Evasion" Funny, this is my very first ban. Could it have anything to do with not being able to appeal this specific kind of ban for three fucking days? edit : removed pic. didn't black out my ip
I just can't believe how quick people are to deny this shit. I'm sure most people who think gamergate is stupid will whole heartedly deny it
one of the reason this has not as many views as the Fish travesty is because anywhere else now, this is getting fucking incinerated. most administrators of several internet community's are on a zero tolerance policy toward any discussion toward gamer's gate now. No internet personality will talk about it, for fucks sake even Jim Sterling pretended it was insignificant, calling it That ""exposure" of a game journo mailing list is sillypants. Calling it "elite" when I'VE never been invited to be on it is strike #1." and "I've heard of what mostly goes on there though. People arguing over boring work stuff that is fucking boring. Hardly sensational."

A bunch of the gaming sites have already published articles on GamerGate, so it's not like there's a coordinated effort to cover up the situation.
yeah, i mean i think it's more a misinterpretation due to what other people have said about it. they think it's all about her sex life because other people think its all about her sex life. we are talking about this. many people are fucking talking about this and the only people who are trying to sweep it under the rug are the people who dont understand it. honestly that seems fine because they don't go posting about it saying "it's about this person who slept with 5 dudes or something like that" and spreading misinformation, causing more problems and "corruption." as a side note, in an industry like gaming or game journalism you need to have friends in it to be noticed. or else, you won't make deals, you wont get any publicity, and your only tool is word of mouth which even in the information highway that is the internet isn't enough to push an entire game. but there are ways of taking it too far. whether quinn took it too far is not my judgement. but there's a pretty telling responce to my thoughts here about when you take it too far (starts at 9:43 but ya'll should definitely watch the whole thing): i've got a solution to anyone who's a journalist or game maker who knows journalists: make sure whoever you're talking too isn't being written by you/is writing about you, there's probably like 20 other guys who could give you coverage in that sector that isn't biased, but like don't get your girlfriend to write about you cause that shit's fucked.

You are not the only one affected by this.
When does this go away? I mean, when does all the bitching end?
You better start believin' in conspiracies. Because you're all in one.
I'm not sure how this is scandalous. A bunch of the gaming sites have already published articles on GamerGate, so it's not like there's a coordinated effort to cover up the situation.
There's a difference with keeping in touch with one another and then full out discussing completely in coordinated efforts to get something to be head of attention. That leaves no room for maneuver on other stories as they get blocked out by what is considered the 'more important' story within the collective of gaming journalists. Its also an echo chamber, or very very dangerously close to being one without even having started.
When does this go away? I mean, when does all the bitching end?
At this point? Quite possibly never. I know that seems like hyperbole, but even if this particular ruckus manages to die down eventually so much shit has been dug up and so many bridges have been burned. Bad blood like this doesn't disappear. It just goes dormant for a while.
How fucking bad can this get-- like what's next? A murder cover up? It literally doesn't stop.
max probably having a coronary knowing that if he posts in this thread - to tell us we're OBVIOUSLY retarded for believing this tripe - he'll get perma'd
How fucking bad can this get-- like what's next? A murder cover up? It literally doesn't stop.
The people involved in all of this bullshit have been in it for so long that they don't even understand ethics anymore. Evil cannot comprehend good. That's also why they're so terrible at hiding it. They're not even trying. They don't understand why it's bad.
I miss video game magazines. Nintendo Power never had to deal with any of this shit.
