In Winnipeg, Wendy's/Tim Horton's restaurants are already a thing (and have been for a while): [t]http://i.imgur.com/GqyU5rC.png[/t] I wonder how that place will turn out within a little while after things are all settled.
There's a couple in Edmonton too.
The nearest Wendy's to me in Toronto has a Tims in it too.
I really hope nothing changes for Tims Literally the only franchise I care about. I don't even like fast food. I just love the coffee
I don't like the coffee at Starbucks at all. It would be amazing if Tim Hortons moved down here and provided some much needed competition.
i actually agree with my state's senator for once, don't buy burger king, buy american wendy's and (if you can find one) white castle
Why wouldn't you want to support our friendly bothers to the North? Also it's not like Burger King is suddenly "non american" now just because they're merging with Tim Hortons. Did you even read the article? The two chains are remaining separate, just one company owns them. [editline]26th August 2014[/editline]
In Aus BK is named Hungry Jacks, and the thing I like best about them is $1 frozen cokes, $2 milkshakes, and you can get a 3 patty burger for $4, along side a heap of other cheap deals and meals. HJs are the best in the Summer. I wonder if this merger will affect them in any way.
Shit I forgot Burger King has frozen coke. I gotta go to one now.

(~15% in Canada compared to ~35% in the US) Pfizer has been trying to do the same thing with Astrazeneca in the pharmaceutical world.
The new base in Canada could allow Burger King (BKW) to reduce its U.S. tax bill -- a recent report by KPMG found that total tax costs in Canada are about 46% lower than in the U.S.
Just in case anyone's wondering why and didn't read the source. GG.
i actually agree with my state's senator for once, don't buy burger king, buy american wendy's and (if you can find one) white castle
Uhh...what?
Just in case anyone's wondering why and didn't read the source. GG. Uhh...what?
His senator thinks BK is being "un-American" in doing this, so he's calling for a boycott of BK. Frankly, I think nationalistic protectionism laws are fucking retarded, as is the whole "Buy American" movement.
I hope this means Tim Horton's will be expanding to the more southern states. I'd like to try it someday.
Does this mean that I can get good coffee at Burger King now?
No, still only Starbucks and McDonalds.
No, still only Starbucks and McDonalds.
McDonalds coffee tastes like dirt and grease.
No, still only Starbucks and McDonalds.
Starbucks. Good coffee. Haha. You're a jokester you are.
I hope this brings to light how corporations are getting tax breaks while personal taxes are far higher than they should be for what we get out of them.
I thought Burger King was already a dying chain.
Give me a whopper on a donut bun and I'm sold.
Does this mean someone could open a Tim Hortons here in Jax? I'd be pretty happy.
Starbucks. Good coffee. Haha. You're a jokester you are.
Timmies coffee kinda sucks, but I guess it does get me through University. Everything else in Tim's is pretty good though - soups, donuts, and breakfest stuff is all pretty great.
Why?
This may not be too well known here but the only reason why this merger happened was so BK could get out of paying taxes via a loophole that gets you out of taxes if you are headquartered in another country. AKA BK is getting out of paying taxes by moving to another country, made possible by buying out another franchise that belongs in said country. Its been done many times before by companies so they could move their headquarters off shore and thus be tax exempt.
Timmies coffee kinda sucks, but I guess it does get me through University. Everything else in Tim's is pretty good though - soups, donuts, and breakfest stuff is all pretty great.
Timmys is okay, but Timmys doesn't pretend to be world renowned or anything. Nobody pretends Timmys coffee is the best, it's just a cup of coffee. If anything, Timmys coffee is actually better. Starbucks coffee actually tastes burnt because they roast the hell out of their beans, but Timmys is just pretty bland, which means you can hide the flavour. Try a taste test with some different coffees and you'll see what I mean. Some coffee shops around here actually have lattes that are smoother with four shots than starbucks is with two.
I don't like the coffee at Starbucks at all. They over-roast all their beans to make them consistent. Done so you don't notice if you happen to get a lower quality coffee harvest from a random part of the world. If you want truly good coffee, look into third wave shops. Most cities in the US have at least 1-2
I only go to Tims for donuts and hot chocolate

They aren't "escaping taxes", they are moving to a country with lower taxes. I can't blame them TBH.
iced cap and timbits are what makes timmies truly G.O.A.T.
Starbucks. Good coffee. Haha. You're a jokester you are.
Uh actually their coffee is phenomenal compared to Timmies. Tim Hortons coffee is absolute shit. I could make better coffee with dirt. Stopped for one on a road trip. I went out of my way to get another coffee from McDonalds and dump that other cup of diarrhea out. McDonalds is what Tim Hortons USED to taste like.

But the point was, timmys coffee is just bland flavoured, starbucks actually tastes bad.
Is it good I haven't ever been to a white castle? Doesn't sound like I've missed much
Uh actually their coffee is phenomenal compared to Timmies.
Making you own coffee can cheaply be way better than starbucks, I'll assume the same for tim hortons because I haven't been to one and probably never will seeing as I live in texas. Aeropress + cheap burr grinder = delicious coffee. Plus you get a roast to where you can actually taste the coffee, not the roast, unlike starbucks and their very dark roasts.
Does it mean we'll finally get Tim Hortons in Asia? Could squeeze a Tim Hortons concessionaire in every BK serving up coffee and timbits, fuck yeah.
Hopefully now that Burger King owns Tim Horton's, America finally has an excuse to liberate the Canadians as lost American citizens. Except Quebec. Fuck Quebec.
That's more than Amazon payed for Twitch. :v:
Eventually there will only be three fast food companies: The McDonald's Corporation, 3G Capital, and Yum! Brands, Inc.
