Talk about obvious money grabbing. These guys just want Money We better get used to this. Pretty soon, EA will try to sell the next Battlefield instalment as episodes.
Dynamic environments as detailed as in the trailer, high poly count characters and objects, effects, voice acting, and countless other things compared to the original. Costs are going to be high, Dev time is high and the amount of data packed in will be astronomical compared to the original release. This isn't some static background images and tiny character sprites with just text for dialogue, they are completely rebuilding the game. If they say each episode is a full game length then clearly they are doing more than just bumping poly counts and adding voices, it could be that they will be filling each release disc to the brim, making releasing the full game on one disc impossible. They've said nothing about slicing stuff out for cash grab dlc to get the full content, that I can see, once all the episodes are out, the game would be fully complete. Everything I've ever read about the remake basically summed up to "we are afraid to do it because it would need to be perfect", and now they are making it and what they are saying so far is that they are doing everything they can to make sure that it meets the expectations of fans. I don't know why everyone immediately shits on it just because they are releasing it in parts, as if everyone on the team is only going for cash grabs, as if they don't actually care about the quality of the product. Given their enthusiasm and the work they have shown so far, they are taking it seriously. Could it still be bad? Obviously, but they haven't announced anything so shitty that it spells doom for the game.
