Killing people, Totally kewl
Urinating on corpses, omg disrespectful
Being outraged about the fact that they desecrated what is essentially a sack of meat and bones
This is a focal point fallacy
Yes, they were 'just' peeing on some flesh, sinew, and nervous tissue but that act holds more gravity and implies more than you're making it sound

no one said this
Human life being lost is really horrible but how do we know it wasn't necessary?
well
'necessary'
Maybe peeing on them was necessary. They aren't dead, they just encountered the rare desert jellyfish. A terrifying beast that hides just beneath the dunes. :P
no one said this
You just pointed out a focal point fallacy, It isn't anyone saying this, it is the fact that the media is presenting this as something people should give a fuck about.
And no one ever thought it was staged by a non-US personnel with US clothes on from downed soldiers.
This is sarcasm.
How exactly is a soldier pissing on a person's dead body more offensive than a soldier killing said person?
war is about killing people
if you want to piss on bodies (dead) then extreme water sports is thata way
How exactly is a soldier pissing on a person's dead body more offensive than a soldier killing said person?
that's a bit beside the point
'Is it ever justified to kill people' is a question that hurts my head really hard.
Is it worth it to spend the extra resources to capture enemy soldiers instead of killing them? Is their life worth less than others for some reason? What if that reason was influenced by an external source? But doesn't that idea make free will seem like a facade? Is killing livestock any less horrible than killing a person? Why - is it because they're dumber than us? Does being dumb disqualify you from your right to a life?
It leads me so far down the logical rabbit hole that I can't think about it any more, and I always come up empty-handed.
>Implying that there aren't hundreds of videos on youtube or news articles describing marines doing similar things

Being delicious disqualifies you.

Yes, because the fact that other marines do it makes it okay. Thanks for the insight.
It's a common philosophical view that the intent of an action is the main factor in determining the morality in someone's actions. People generally believe soldiers should only kill because they think it's necessary, and should take no joy from what they do. A solider urination on a corpse, however, shows not a man stoically doing his grim duty because he thinks there is no other choice, but someone reveling in the chaos and bloodshed. And that's why people don't like it when you pee corpses.
Wow, this is fucked up, even if they were terrorists, you still probably shouldn't piss on them.

A lot of young people joining the armed forces are doing so because they think it's fun though.
i don't understand how some people can take so much pride in killing people then pissing on them afterwards...
I love how in the OP's video the man in it is like those men may have slaughtered those people and that's fine, but they're supposed to move on. I think what they did is wrong, but it's funny what we justify is right or wrong. Armed conflicts and killing are a plight on the human race, that in itself is a horrible act alone.

God bless the troops
Oh my lordy Jesus Christ!! Oh my god!! How disrespectful peeing on those innocent dead terrorists and how inhuman the action is!! How can you be so crazy to do that? God forbid taking away their lives, stand the fuck up they recorded themselves peeing on the terrorists. Punish them, send them to jail for the rest of their life.

of course i'm just speaking of what I hear from people around here, I cannot speak for everyone obviously.

death sentence for urination lol
Whats the big fuckin deal
What's funny is that, while horrible, this is nothing, guys. In World War II, much, much worse shit than this happened and went unreported. Ditto with the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Actually, in Vietnam, embedded war journalists were just starting to become commonplace, but there was a crapton of stuff that they didn't see, or didn't report. Today, with the internet and concealable cameras, soldiers really, really have to behave. War is bad. People die. People do horrible shit. This is just a relatively tame example of the darker side of humanity.

Amen, humans can be fucked up violent little creatures sometimes. This shit is still wrong, as mentioned by the past 50 posts.

That doesn't excuse pissing on someone... they're supposed to be trained professionals who represent their fighting force, there's literally no reason to piss on a corpse. And just because something happened in WW2, doesn't mean "Oh see it's ok, we have it so much better now. Suck it up baby's". The troops in WW2 both did fucked up things which shouldn't set the standard for soldier behaviour.
"Now the flowers will grow." Sorry to much Postal.
What the fuck.
Of course they don't represent the army. They're Marines.
They represent the Navy.
I'm not defending these guys, but your mindset in war gets fucked up. People are trying to kill you, have probably killed people you know. A lot of hate is built up in soldiers.
