Republican Party of Texas opposes critical thinking

Guys, know what would be interesting? A device that envisions an alternate reality where Republicans are given complete and total power with 100% accuracy. It'd be very interesting to see just how much they could fuck things up. But they themselves would never believe it. :C

The only wildlife I agree with exterminating is spiders, every last one of them.
Don't mean to start an off-topic shitstorm, but it's generally agreed that the Union was in the moral right, and I don't think I've ever heard anyone say otherwise, even here in the South. The Confederacy seceded over states' rights and being strong-armed by the federal government, but they were being strong-armed because of the region's entire economy being based on an immoral and racist practice. A better example for open discussion would be, say, WWI.
Well, yea. Most people generally agree. However, a child should be able to come to that conclusion independently of someone telling them "The Union was the good guys."

What, are they making Fallout 4 already?
What do you mean by "recently?"
It died a long time ago buddy.
It was stillborn.

No, no no no no no. I don't want to be eaten alive by the horde of insects that would come from the absence of one of their biggest predators.

How out of character of them.

That didn't last long...

Those two views are logically consistent with each other.
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
I'm sorry, theoretically logically consistent. It doesn't necessarily hold from an empirical outlook.
I wonder what the purpose of education is to Republicans.
Did any of them even get an education?
The educational system they want to build is the foundation of a relatively passive statewide de facto single party system, something that parts of Texas already have a reputation for being. Kind of a very subtle cult of personality.
Hm.
Gov. Rick Perry has issued something around 25 Executive Orders and Rick Perry had even said that he would issue an Executive Order to block the implementation of the Affordable Care Act.
Hm.
Rick Perry has been the Governor of Texas for over 11 years; In the meantime George Bush and Obama combined have issued 416 executive orders.
Rick Perry has been the Governor of Texas for over 11 years; In the meantime George Bush and Obama combined have issued 416 executive orders.
While true, Rick Perry is still an awful Governor and I hate every moment that I spend under his stupidity. His funding cuts and education control is some of the worst ever.
Also I'm voting Democrat in the next state elections since they promise not to fuck with my guns and to legalize weed once they get back in office.
Rick Perry has been the Governor of Texas for over 11 years; In the meantime George Bush and Obama combined have issued 416 executive orders.
And Ronald Reagan issued 381.
Their point is moot. It's not going away. And even if they had a huge hard-on for not doing executive orders, why would they allow their own Governor, the representative of their party, to go around publicly advertising his intent to use the Executive Order they so decry?
Ron Paul 2012
Teaching for testing killed us years ago, this is just icing on the cake.

Actually it's the Lieutenant Governor that represents the Republican Party of Texas since he has more legal power than the Governor in state matters except the veto pin, and every time Perry steps outside of Texas, the Lieutenant Governor is automatically given that along with all other powers of the Governor's office until Perry steps back into Texas.
[editline]28th June 2012[/editline]
Apart from that, Perry isn't the representative of shit since he was never elected to office, he was appointed Governor of Texas by Dubya when he became President, and that's disregarding the Governor's office's severely gimped powers compared to other states' governors.
All we're waiting on is for him to get his ass voted out of office.
I don't like my state. Or Rick Perry.

It's a protected species, the Republicans will eat it
And now remember, Democrats and Republicans are equally bad...
I keep hearing this. I for one think it's (mostly) bullshit.
Show me the Democratic Party Charters and ordered bullet points that sound like someone took a page from Mein Kampf and I'll more readily believe it.
This is why we need IQ tests
IQ doesn't generally refer to an ability to make judgements based on external stimuli but more often refers to spatial orientation and solving relatively simple problems in a certain speed via external stimuli.
HOTS on the other hand goes beyond what IQ generally tests for as it's an ability to make judgments and solve more complex problems with less than all stimuli given to solve those problems.
Oh cool, republicans are going to support other languages in schools? Awesome!
oh
To be honest - this isn't exactly a problem. Having no national language seems to be causing more trouble to for the US than the opposite.
Having to support full bilingualism in schools actually creates pretty high cost issues for the schools in question so a drive to send people into english makes a lot of sense.
