Sad thing is from the short amount I played this is that I know it would have been a pretty decent single-player game.
I played "coop" leveling with 5 other people as different characters and we had a blast. Then we got to the part of the game they want you to pay monthly for. Oh.
It was never going to be a 'wow killer'
If any mmo in history was going to be a wow killer it was this as far as the team hype budget and time goes
Well, I never thought it was going to be a WoW Killer, I thought it might have been close, obviously I was proven wrong, but I never thought it would beat WoW.
And on top of that they have the audacity to not only limit free play players but also introduce a payed currency?
Most F2P games have Cash Stores, it is a normal feature now a days.
SURPRISE!....nah, not really
OP, you forgot the article picture pictured: a group of The Old Republic players enjoying their high-quality MMO
I don't know. The description from the site is extremely vague. Here is the full list: If the OP can put this in the first post, it would be extremely helpful.
Nope, no point in playing it for me if an already sub-par mmo gets even more limited.
This game better fail so they can go on to make KOTOR 3 [editline]31st July 2012[/editline] Well it already failed I meant it should die
Right now the f2p and sub player differences are really terrible but the way they keep making moves to keep people on this path of failure tells me that f2p will improve. I'll check back in a few months and there will probably be significantly less restrictions on f2p players.
i bet they regret it now.
i bet they regret it now.
I bet four-fifths of them have already been fired.
I remember when everyone was excited for this game and was convinced that it would 'kill wow'.
I could really do with less "The tortanic is sinking!" bioware detractors.
I wish they would just bring back SWG. It worked just fine and had people playing enough to fill a server. Even if they brought it back after the Combat Upgrades, it still be better.
I want a good starwars MMO. is that too much to ask for?
Yes.
And now Obsidian is going to go pick up the pieces and make KotOR III. please i say this in every thread
I wish they would just bring back SWG. It worked just fine and had people playing enough to fill a server. Even if they brought it back after the Combat Upgrades, it still be better.
There are enough people to fill servers on TOR now, they were just all spread out and multiple servers. But they're closing a few servers now and auto moving people to populated servers. Right now my server gets 300 people on the Imp fleet, at the same time I saw 100 people on Dromund Kaas. There were probably more on the other planets.
I could really do with less "The tortanic is sinking!" bioware detractors.
Well, if the game is slowly failing I think the saying is accurate. The game hasn't been out for a year and its allready going F2P after losing a bucketload of subs.
It was never going to be a 'wow killer'
It's funny people people think there's going to be a 'wow killer'. [editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
There are enough people to fill servers on TOR now, they were just all spread out and multiple servers.
I could really do with less "The tortanic is sinking!" bioware detractors.
I don't even like Bioware but the Tortanic shit is just getting obnoxious.

Maybe they should just remake SWG with more graphical updates or something.

It's about to hit beta and Jump To Lightspeed, and CU update about to be implemented.
Why would anyone want to pay $15 for a game and not be able to play all of it? I get a system like Guild Wars 2 where you can fuck around with microtransactions after you buy the game, but locking content unless you subscribe?
And the game wasn't rushed by EA like Warhammer Online was. This game took its damned time to come out.
Nah it was rushed, they took the whole class system and based the skills of WoW skills.
Well this is good news for me, the story is completely unlocked for F2P. Might as well try the game for that to see what happened after KOTOR2 [editline]1st August 2012[/editline] Can someone explain what these two game features are?
Flashpoints Free players are limited in terms of how many Flashpoints they can play per week. Operations Only Subscribers may complete Operations.
So yeah about that Battlefront 3...
Can someone explain what these two game features are?
Operations is end-game content so you have something to do after the game. Flashpoints are like raids. You find someone giving out a flashpoint quest, you group up with some people, you go for it. Flashpoints and operations give you the best gear. I think they will find the 15 dollar to play at all will be very unpopular. I am guessing it will be dropped sometime after and actually go free to play.
Still paying a sub because I enjoy and love this game, plus its the only way to get content past level 50.
I wonder if they will add an option to pay in kisses [editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
Maybe now I'll actually have motivation to play it.
it's still like 20gb
http://www.swgemu.com/forums/index.php It's not quite perfect yet, but it's playable.
