The fact that so many right now are supporting Donald Trump and being sincere about it is what has me unsatisfied with the party. I'd rather vote Sanders, and that is coming from a far right monarchist.

It just seems funny that a monarchist would support Republicans
I've said it earlier this month, and I'll say it again. With the disappointment most people have with both the Democratic and Republican parties this time around, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if we see our first president to not come from either in years. I mean I personally don't see any good candidates on either side so far. It honestly makes me laugh that the people on the GOP side seem to think that the candidates aren't being batshit crazy enough though. And I say all of this as a person who lives in easily the biggest GOP supporting state in the nation (Texas).
I can't wait for the GOP of the early 2000's to be studied in school 50 years from now as an example of a self-defeating system that somehow remained popular due to feeding on peoples' fears and basically nothing else It's fucking amazing how easily they mind control people to vote against their self interests by just saying a few buzzwords [editline]26th July 2015[/editline] Also is there anyone outside of the US that doesn't see the GOP as the most baffling political party on the planet?
Republican voters especially reganauts care about two things, economy and foreign policy. They feel weird talking about race and social issues in politics and they don't care about healthcare UNLESS it's packaged as a means of crushing the economy IE "the aca will cause massive unemployment and massive healthcare cost rises" its not that the majority of Republicans are idiots they, like Democrats have a tendency to put the blinders on and not talk about larger pictures. In a way the SC gave Republicans a shot at the election by taking gay marriage off the table and upholding ACA because if they had gone into the election with 11-16 million very rural very poor voters being railroaded out of the healthcare system and if they had to confront the actual changing tide on gay marriage they'd have gutted their party

I've lost my appetite for politics after I volunteered to help a campaign for a democrat candidate. Its just a bunch of childish games with no real concern or regard for the nations prosperity. And the worst part is people feed into it and keep it going cause the majority of this nations population act like uninformed idiots. I'd almost not vote in the next election but my fears of a GOP candidate erasing any progress we've made in the recent years scares me.

This is a potent mixture of politics With all the crazy news stories and (well, including) every news article starring Donald Trump what has the republican party had as good press recently?
I'll vote republican again when there is someone running in the party that is willing to make compromises with other party members. It's so annoying to see 20 candidates all mud slinging eachother up until 4 weeks before the election and then expect us to turn around and like the last man standing
If this campaign goes the same as the last one, which it seems to be so far, the GOP will fracture again like how it almost did with the tea party. And I hope it does too, since it is way past due for the current parties to dissolve. I even hope that Bernie runs independent when Hillary's goons refuse to hand him the nomination, just so he can win or at least prove that the two-party system is fucked.
