That's horrifying. I'm glad that there weren't any more fatalities. Edit: Holy shit, some of those tweets. How cynical do you need to be to completely discount that maybe, just maybe, this is a tragedy that isn't good for anybody involved?

Reminder, by July 2016, the Kushner/Don Jr./Manafort/Veselnitskaya meeting at Trump Tower had already happened two weeks earlier -- the one about getting dirt on Hillary for which Trump Sr. would later dictate an outright false narrative about the purpose of the meeting to report to the media on the way back from Europe on Air Force One after journalists broke the story. The Mayflower Hotel speech, which featured Senator and future Attorney-General Jeff Sessions secretly meeting with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak (and "forgot" to mention this during his confirmation hearing), happened in April. The Mayflower Hotel speech was Trump's opportunity to relay to Putin that he was willing to cooperate. George Papadopoulis had already revealed himself as a Kremlin agent to Trump's campaign a month earlier. On July 18, 2016, Ambassador Kislyak met with Sessions, Carter Page, and J.D. Gordon, members of Trump's campaign, at the RNC; on the same day, the RNC's platform was changed to water down support for an independent Ukraine after pressure from Trump surrogates. Everyone was talking about investigating Clinton for mishandling some emails while the Trump campaign was committing treason with Putin's agents. If only we'd known at the time, holy shit. I can't imagine the amount of hubris you could find if you went through old threads from 2016 and matched them up to what we now know Trump and cronies were doing at the same time. And little gems like this exchange are amazing in retrospect. Remember when some classified documents being mishandled was the worst of our fears?
Violating security guidelines isn't necessarily the same as an actual criminal act. I'm sure there is some overlap for the more egregious violations but I think she would have been indicted a long time ago if what she did was obviously criminal. I appreciate that you atleast admit that you are presuming guilt before innocence and won't beat around the bush about it like a bunch of other posters, and like I said I think she is clearly guilty of the same sort of lax electronic security that previous Secretary's have been guilty of, my point was simply that what she did may not have been outright criminal, hence the comparison to Trump being under investigation for various crimes.

You don't find it worrying at all that your next president might be a person who has no idea how to store confidental information safely?

That was a trip down memory lane. DAE remember when supporting Trump was seen as more popular than supporting Clinton?
In retrospect, while everyone was bemoaning 2016 as the worst year ever, it turns out that 2016 was the last good year for American government
