He even types with a russian accent.
funny you say that
i don't think they would be enthusiastic about being send into warzone in different country.
I still remember that idiot who took selfies everyday while being stationed on the border.
[medi]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j8am7D6mI0 Video title translates to: "After securing an autobase (related to vehicles I think) a truck with humanitarian aid from Russia was found" One of the humanitarian trucks was found stolen by Ukrainians (what a surprise). The driver and several civilians accompanying it were killed and burned. Driver had his scalp ripped off. I'm really having a hard time believing either side at this point. Edit: oh wait, the video desc says that it was recorded on August 1. Welp, I'm 100% confused, time to stay away from this conflict once again.
i don't think they would be enthusiastic about being send into warzone in different country.
Actually, most volunteer soldiers start out really excited at the prospect of actually going in to combat, they eid volunteer after all. Its what happens after they get there, the death and destruction and misery, that makes them weary. And right now the Russian media has whipped its population into an ultra-patriotic frenzy, has made them excited and eager over what has happened. So yes I absolutely, with 100% confidence, expect the soldiers are enthusiastic about being sent to Ukraine.
Nuclear Ukraine 2014

That's what was missing from my day.
On a related note, I'm really looking forward to Metro 2033: Redux.
For the love of God, can the aliens just show up so we can have our governments quit pissing and moaning on who's better than the other.
I am sorry, but first, our government is not exactly a reliable source of information, as it has been caught telling lies and hiding information, and second, what makes Russian official sources more believable then Ukrainian? Also, where the fuck do you live? Probably Moscow or some shit like this. Let me tell you, I live right near the border, airforce is patrolling non-stop and troops are gathering, riding right through the city, I even took some photos. Nobody, not any of the Russian media mentioned that shit, I checked that evening and day after. So sorry that I am a bit more skeptical of our government then you, but that makes me more inclined to believe that there was, indeed, a convoy, especially when I've seen that kind of vehicle moving through my hometown.
Shit man if i were you, get the fuck away from that border before shit goes down.
i don't think they would be enthusiastic about being send into warzone in different country.
Well when your country labels Ukraine as Nazis, and given your country's history with them, not to mention convinces you all that the Russians living there are being ethnically cleansed, etc. Hell, i'd be worried if they weren't excited...
Well at least there's a chance all the Russians might get drafted and I can finally play dota with english players.
So nothings happening? no further reports on the attack? No pictures of dead russians? Business as usual?
For the love of God, can the aliens just show up so we can have our governments quit pissing and moaning on who's better than the other.
Seems to be the only way for people/ humans to look beyond nations, cultures, religions, whatever could be used to group people and to see each other as one human race at the moment Back on topic though, I would not be surprised that we'd have to see more conflict before NATO / EU does anything. Should Russia really cut-off supplies of gas completely, it'd be an economic crisis for Europe as a whole. Unless they start outsourcing to places such as Iran, Canada, USA(even though at the moment most of that gas is being burnt while drilling for oil) or even Australia
I don't want any war, but I hope the Ukrainians give the Russians hell if things get even worse. Make Russia know that it's not right to invade other nations.
Shit man if i were you, get the fuck away from that border before shit goes down.
Coincidently I'm leaving the country the end of Augest, for reasons unrelated to Ukrainian conflict.
Coincidently I'm leaving the country the end of Augest, for reasons unrelated to Ukrainian conflict.
If you are to come back (assuming you are going away for education or something), prepare to lose any sort of trust from anyone back home. Ever.
If you are to come back (assuming you are going away for education or something), prepare to lose any sort of trust from anyone back home. Ever.
My friends and family align more on the left side of political spectrum. Speaking from experience?
How long do you think the russian population will put up with this shit? http://englishrussia.com/2014/08/11/some-empty-shelves/ Those shelves really look quite depressing.
The other set of pictures was immediately proven as false, these look more legit but can any Russian FP'ers confirm it's real?
Some sections really look a little lackluster, but you do not feel the abundance of supplies. It's mostly cheese for now, and price for some fish, like salmon, went up. Nothing too harsh. Don't know what situation is like in Saints Petersburg for example now though, they used to import quite a lot from Finland - dairy products, meat, some veggies. Can somebody from other regions comment on this? Here we never really depended on stuff from Europe and other western countries, so I might not have the full picture.
The other set of pictures was immediately proven as false, these look more legit but can any Russian FP'ers confirm it's real?
Shelves belong to ASHAN supermarkets, giant grocery clusterfuck where people sometimes go with entire family for some reason, resulting in massive waiting lines. Judging by shelves signs those are indeed empty shelves of banned imports, soo pictures are true. The thing is, these shelves represent 5% of products in entire shop. We're not starving or panicking regarding banned imports, infact it gives alot of fresh air to long time forgotten russian production lines, wich were killed off by competition with widely known foreign brends. More job for farmers who were abandoned back in 90's is always good. Ofcourse it's going to be a pain in the ass to restore some, but atleast now goverment legitimatly tries to. Also we got "third world" countries building up imports to fill up vacuum and Belarus now got fuckton of money working as hub for delivering proceed european products. Soo everything is fine regarding food provision.

But hey we got something out of this too, they had to sell the produce banned from going to russia here for half the price. So we got cheap moloko and cheese. Well until the economic trouble from the same issue hits back and increases the prices. If you ask me this whole affair is a lose-lose situation. For all.
picture
Seriously, if all you do is to come for thread waiting for my reply you got issues. Person asked question regarding food provisions, i replied. Maybe enough personal derailing?
i just made a new pic but good to see the old one still sees some use
Can somebody from other regions comment on this? Here we never really depended on stuff from Europe and other western countries, so I might not have the full picture.
Not much change on Southern Ural, just a slight price increase on stuff like cheese, fish and exotic fruit. It doesn't look like we have a deficit of those just yet, but sooner or later it's going to manifest. Ironically, it seems like Putin's sanctions hurt the country more than western ones right now

Maybe enough personal derailing?
regarding commodities in general, since the sanctions have been in effect have you noticed any increases in price or any goods shortages that have not been covered by comperable domestic products?
