They did, but the name as well as all the remaining inventory were purchased by a guy in Texas who started a new DMC.

Just to be clear, this new DeLorean Motor Company is not the same company that originally designed and built the DMC-12, that one went bankrupt a long time ago.

This DMC a completely new company that was started after the original one died out. Until now all they've done is maintain, improve upon, and continue the production of the DMC-12.
If they do pick up the Solstice it will be this DMC's first new car.

The solstice is quite ugly I reckon (probably just those weird Pontiac grills) but the mock up in the OP is kinda cool.

The DMC was cool looking, but it was absolute shit. Handling was average at best and the Peugeot group V6 engine made 130hp, so it was dog slow too. I hope the Solstice gets picked up though, it's a really excellent car.

The G8 should get picked up too, it was killed in its prime (just like the Fiero!)

DeLorean's been a functional company for a while now, a Texan bought the remaining assets from the company and keeps like 4 dealers going. You have to custom order the cars, though.
