It works pretty well. The photos are much faster.
Will it actually load photos instead of saying 'Sorry, photos are unavailable at this time' every single time?
Runs a lot faster on my phone. Seriously noticeable.
Google launched Maps for iOS today and even it is better than the Android version
I wouldn't say that, it's just different. Google maps could use a bit of an overhaul on android though, just a bit of spit and polish like having vector based imagery and not having a clusterfuck of icons that can all lead to the same thing in some circumstances (i.e. maps, latitude and navigation).
I've noticed that iPhones are much smoother with just about any app than an android phone. I think that an iPhone app is always going to be faster and more responsive than an Android one. Pros and cons.
guess it comes from the OS not just essentially being a java stack like android is (see minecraft for why it doesn't run as fast as something that uses C like iOS)
that said the google apps are generally all very fast, responsive and stable, which leads me to believe that devs just need to leverage more features of the platform

Which is about the same as a non shitted-up Facebook contact list.
who are your friends and can I have them
seriously G+ is really nice but it's essentially a glorified newsreader for me since I know about 3 people with G+ accounts and precisely 0 of them use them for the same reason I don't
Are it's permissions still one short of giving them your credit card to buy coffee whenever an employee is thirsty? Because if so I'm sticking to the web browser version.
Incredibly faster and smoother.
just installed it; it's so much better. there's actually a reason to use it over the mobile website now!
lmao how many of facebook's members do you know and talk to on a daily basis?
i think i speak for a lot of people when i say that i might have a few hundred "friends", but i really only actively talk to 20-25 of them.
I don't talk to them, Just reading through a newsfeed that is frequently active and filled with content is better than reading through personal friends stuff, that you could learn from actually seeing them anyway

Nope, to anyone wondering (either didn't read or haven't downloaded yet) the app still has these:
Storage - modify files
Your location - both types (GPS, network based)
Hardware controls - basically take control of your camera and microphone
Your accounts - allows the app to add or remove your stored accounts (google, fb, youtube, whatever) as well as get/change their passwords
Personal information - modify your contacts, read your call history, read contacts information, etc
Phone ID - app can read your phone's unique identifier (not sure if MAC or something else)
Development Tools - access to your "protected storage" (???)
I'm sure some of these have innocent uses, but at the same time selling information is a big business now and I'd prefer to keep my spam texts/emails from "apple" to a minimum :v:
