That's best case scenario.
Yea, for all we know the SAM clipped the plane and brought it down intact until it hit the ground.
Rebels said that a plane shot it down, not a air to ground missile. Really?! Also, live stream: http://www.aljazeera.com/watch_now/
Given how apparently other tweets from separatists claiming that they downed a plane this evening are getting deleted by them, or being denied, the separatists are backpedaling like crazy right now. It is almost 99% sure now that they are behind this. And here I was thinking the general relation with Russia couldn't get any worse.
I just think that when a picture tagged NSFL is posted, it's nice to have a description / warning of what it is since that tag can have such a broad interpretation and be up to personal opinion.
It seems really unlikely that anyone but the rebels would shoot it down. Not that they deliberately intended to, but they seem the only side to be poorly trained and informed enough to do it by accident. Someone on the BBC earlier said the plane was actually very close to Ukrainian ATC, so any Ukrainian forces would know exactly what the plane was and it's exact location, along with the fact the separatists don't seem to have access to aircraft. As for the Russians, shooting down planes in Ukrainian airspace, military or civilian, seems highly unlikely and very risky.
Yea, for all we know the SAM clipped the plane and brought it down intact until it hit the ground.
It looks like something that was still together hit the place where the guy was trying to put it out. the crater is a bit big for just "a part" of the aircraft.
Don't worry about the people suffering, they didn't. The fact they look intact doesn't mean much. If the plane got hit by a Buk and the parts of fuselage are all over the place and there wasn't a single radar blip between normal flight and the plane crashing, it means it just blew the fuck up. The people in there got their share of both the shockwave from the explosion and then completely instant decompression at 10000 meters. Whoever wasn't dead instantly was definitely immediately unconscious from the shockwave and decompression, and it's highly unlikely they woke up before hitting the ground. Before they could understand what's going on, they were already dead.
I guess I can attempt to take solace knowing they most likely didn't suffer. But the suffering won't end because of the amount of families and lives that are experiencing a true nightmare.
Russian paratroopers confirmed over Kiev.
The plane went down near the village of Grabovo, which is currently under the control of armed pro-Russian separatists. The region has been the scene of severe fighting between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatist rebels in recent days, AP reports.
Russian paratroopers confirmed over Kiev.
Source or it didn't happen.
Malaysia Airlines is expected to hold a press conference on the incident at 04:00 local time (21:00 BST)

Don't click links with a "not safe for life" warning without expecting the worst Even then, these have been relatively gentle by all my expectations.
Holy fuck I almost booked the same flight to Jakarta for next month, yesterday. If this is the seperatist I hope the Netherlands gets their shit together and attacks and captures them. Those retards have done enough. Why the fuck are airplanes flying over that area anyway, what the hell where malaysia Air and KLM thinking. There are stolen SAM launchers there.
Not sure if it has been posted: http://lifenews.ru/watch-live

There has been a no-fly zone over the area, but it doesn't extend to cruising altitude (From Al Jazeera stream)

Fuck. Sorry if it's late, news is going so fast here in the Netherlands.

Couple of updates: -=-The UK department of transport issues a statement stating: "Flights already airborne are being routed around the area by air traffic control in the region." Pilots around the world are being advised to plan routes that avoid the area, it adds. -=-As well as Lufthansa, Russian airliner Transaero has also announced it is avoiding Ukrainian airspace for all future flights following the Malaysia airlines crash, Reuters reports. -=-The Ukrainian military and pro-Russian rebels have accused each other of shooting down the plane; both sides say they were not responsible
Yea, for all we know the SAM clipped the plane and brought it down intact until it hit the ground.
Buk missiles have like 70kg of explosives in them and are designed to chase down evading fighters and armored ground attack aircraft. An airliner which is a massive, extremely soft and vulnerable, flying in a perfectly straight line, with basically as massive radar signature as the targeting system might wish for, is NOT getting "clipped" by that thing. It hit it spot on and tore it to bits. Besides, the debris is all over the place, it's completely obvious it instantly broke up.
Not sure if it has been posted: http://lifenews.ru/watch-live
That livestream is blaming the Ukrainian army fyi
Malaysia Airlines is expected to hold a press conference on the incident at 04:00 local time (21:00 BST)
Fucking mental that this ended up happening right after the whole controversy around the missing Malaysian airlines plane started dying down. And now another incident which is just as bad happens

Who really did it? Why do people believe it was the Ukrainian government?
This is a Tremendous loss of life over Russian/Ukraine Tensions, I hope the families get the bodies of their deceased and i hope they are well compensated by either Russia or Ukraine, be it whoever launched the rocket.
NASDAQ/DOW dropping
Who really did it? Why do people believe it was the Ukrainian government?
Quite the question.
Why do people believe it was the Ukrainian government?
Conspiratards. That's why.
Who really did it? Why do people believe it was the Ukrainian government?
I'd be shocked if it was I mean, the situation there is crazy so who knows, but I didn't think the rebels had any aircraft so why would the Ukrainian military shoot down a plane?
They're freaking out at my dads work (Delta) that the NTSB might ground the 777 fleet

If plane was passing by ukrainian ATC, why no one informed crew about danger of entering area? I hope black boxes will clear this up. Also Lugansk folks say it was shoot down by Ukrainian jet.
