Quite the question.
Why did you post this, and why haven't you clarified on why you posted about paratroopers over Kiev?
Civilian airliners should not fly over active war zones.
They're freaking out at my dads work (Delta) that the NTSB might ground the 777 fleet
Would that be necessary if the plane was shot down?
Strelkov is at it again:

He was the commander responsible for the Ostrovsky debacle, wasn't he?

Take that up with Malaysia Airlines.

Summing up all the conspiracy bullshit in this thread.
Conspiratards. That's why.
Not necessarily. Some people are saying that it couldn't have been the rebels because they don't have the appropriate arms, and that it was obviously shot down in Ukrainian territory. I really don't know though. There's no legitimate motive for the Ukrainian military to do such a thing meaning it was probably an accident if it was them.

Wow genuinely surprised that it took 9 pages for the victim blaming to begin
If plane was passing by ukrainian ATC, why no one informed crew about danger of entering area? I hope black boxes will clear this up. Also Lugansk folks say it was shoot down by Ukrainian jet.
Jet pilot must be blind to shoot down a passenger plane. I don't believe this.
My Dad might have to fly to Malaysia for Journalism. He flew previously for MH370. And its supposed to be his off tomorrow dammit.
Also, this was from the rebels, they deleted it:

yeah and the pilots shouldn't have flown into a missile
are you for real
Would that be necessary if the plane was shot down?
They're worried that a design flaw in the 777 fleet caused this and it just picked a terrible spot to go down over.

No, that was the mayor of Donetsk.
I already hated the pro-Russian separatists/rebels/terrorists, whatever you wanna call them, but shooting down a fucking airliner full of innocent civilians just made me completely despise them.
I hope the Ukrainian army obliterates every single one of those worthless pieces of shit.

The person who ordered the shooting must also be blind to ignore adsb, radar, and failing to hail the pilots.

taking the least assumptions and with the evidence so far, i would say it was the seperatists

Aren't they losing the fight in the East?

How do you know it was them?
yeah and the pilots shouldn't have flown into a missile

I am. It's stupid to risk 300 peoples lives over fuel cost. Why there wasn't an all-encompassing no fly zone in the general area of an active war zone where planes are being shot down daily is beyond me.
How do you know it was them?
based on tweets from seperatists showing that they have the Buk missile system and tweets (now rapidly being deleted) of them bragging about shooting down a plane???
I guess no one thought they would be hit at that height. There has been a no-fly zone over the area, but it doesn't extend to cruising altitude (From Al Jazeera stream)
10,000m is outside the range of MAPADS but well within the range of vehicle mounted SAMs

i blame the people who shot down the plane

The no fly zone only reached a few thousand feet up so they wouldn't be in range of MANPADs. Nobody could have expected a SAM system to target a civilian airliner.

Ukrainian military planes have been shot down recently as well though.

Do you ever stop being such a massive kissass for the Russians?
Wow genuinely surprised that it took 9 pages for the victim blaming to begin
Wouldn't call this victim blaming, aren't pilots only responsible for small changes in flight plans? Flying over the Ukraine/Russia border more sounds like a preset flight plan that they always follow.
I assume such changes can only be done by air traffic control or the company that owns the planes.
And yeah, it might be a tough question to ask but it's a very good one.
