No idea, I got it from this source:

Which was send from my bro, from another forum.
based on tweets from seperatists showing that they have the Buk missile system and tweets (now rapidly being deleted) of them bragging about shooting down a plane???
I'd wait for some official reports instead of making assumptions based on some tweets.
The no fly zone only reached a few thousand feet up so they wouldn't be in range of MANPADs. Nobody could have expected a SAM system to target a civilian airliner.
Hence, there was no all encompassing no fly zone. It's been known for a while the rebels have had Buk systems. They even shot down a high flying An-26. Probably the rebels who shot it down as they have no state level coordination that for example the U.S. would have.
Do you ever stop being such a massive kissass for the Russians?
How about yourself and your side? Where's your rage for nationalist torching 42 people in Odessa? The most the western media did for that was debate its numbers and hint they weren't Ukrainian.
Somehow I find the reaction to rebels mistaking a plane for an An-26 quite a bit disproportionate, compared to that. But I guess it only matters since Westerners died?
It's hilarious because just a week ago in one of the Ukraine threads someone apologized for the military shelling of Eastern cities because it was a 'warzone'.
This is gonna be an interesting investigation, because for one the crash site is in an active warzone. I wouldn't be surprised if a temporary ceasefire came from this. Theirs also talk that the NTSB is gonna get involved.
I am. It's stupid to risk 300 peoples lives over fuel cost. Why there wasn't an all-encompassing no fly zone in the general area of an active war zone where planes are being shot down daily is beyond me.
I agree.
Usually nothing owned by "rebels" comes close to being able to take down an aircraft cruising at 10km.
However they knew the "untrained" rebels had stolen a SAM, and already shot down an Ukranian army plane with it.
Im pretty sure they knew, someone somewhere must be keeping track of shit like this. They just didnt expect anything like this, which is not that strange if you ask me. In the future guidelines will probably change so planes wont fly over shit like this again.
How do you know it was them?
If it was shot down, it seems unlikely that Ukrainian or Russian forces would manage to be incompetent enough to shoot a down a civilian airliner.
Only thing I can understand from simply being able to read Russian is something about the launcher and territories I think (Don't know what the words mean :v:)

Somehow I find the reaction to rebels mistaking it for an An-26 quite a bit less malicious.

NOBODY agrees with you.

You'll notice the same people who attacked Syria's artillery strikes on rebel held downs are defending Ukrainian strikes on rebel held towns.

When did they shoot down an An-26?
Ah someone got it anyway
-calm down-
Think of all the innocent european families going on vacation, the backpackers going home, the people who were going home to wives, mother, fathers, sons, daughters, brother and sisters. Gone. Without warning. Swatted out of the sky in an instant. Hundreds of lives extinguished in a second.

Indeed. FP is pathetic in this regard.
Keep drinking the kool-aid, as I've been told.
-calm down-
Tell me, is 42 people under the threshold for a care meter, or something?
When did they shoot down an An-26?
days ago.
The person who shot the missle must also be blind to ignore adsb, radar, and failing to hail the pilots.
There is always a very small, but still nonzero chance of mistake when you're firing a missile into some distant point on a radar. But how can a trained military pilot make such a mistake?
Oh I'm so fucking sorry, Conscript, 295 people DIED IN ONE BLOW. From Russian equipment you dick. Think about what you're posting before you put on the goggles and throw the shit into the "Post Quick Reply" button. I cannot stand you.
It's all Russian equipment on both sides. The Buk launchers were probably stolen from Ukrainian army bases, them being of Russian origin means nothing.
It's reasonable to be upset and disgusted but don't be irrational.
-bad idea. Calm down again-
When did they shoot down an An-26?
We had a thread about it.

the evidence is pointing towards the separatists shooting it down
-calm down-
It's soviet equipment you dork.
If the separatists are responsible for this then what will happen as a result?
It's soviet equipment you dork.
I know, I'm trying to calm down, but Conscript can't come in, fling shit, then back up saying "heh, look at the hivemind". That's now how things work.
A list of the possible crew on board (assuming they return on same plane)
I snipped a post where I called you a kiss ass because I thought I needed to cool down, but I hope you realize 295 people died due to a missile that came from an area in rebel held territory, where there are multiple reports of a missile contrail. How do you explain that? How do you explain that you son of a bitch?
I cared at first, but then I realized how little people did about Odessa and other killings. Then I remembered all the articles claiming they were Russians and asking for it. So yea.
Nobody cried for war when ultras intentionally burned people alive. Rebels make a mistake, suddenly people do.
I can't not notice the stark difference, sorry.
Weird. I was just watching something on the bombing of the US marine base last night, where 300 marines died in Beirut in the 80's.
If the separatists are responsible for this then what will happen as a result?
Nobody is ever going to admit anything. Nothing will ever get solved. Everybody will blame their enemies. Separatists will probably get less support from Russia.

That thing in the picture isn't actually the Buk itself (you don't see the huge radar in front of it), it's the missile reloader platform.

This reads like an Uwe Boll movie. Please stop trying to be theatrical.
