Malaysian passenger airliner shot down over Ukraine near Russian border
Some planes just don't care.
They're the ones that would be flying in and out of Ukraine.
I'm hearing a lot of speculation that the black boxes are currently en route to Moscow.
How objective... :suicide:
to be fair, regardless of who shot the plane down, russia has no reason to hide the FDR data from anyone because it's not like it's gonna say who shot it down
most likely all it will show is everything being fine and suddenly everything being wrong and that's it
the actual parts of the plane may be more useful, then again it seems any of the possible responsible parties could have used the exact same aa system, so maybe that's actually not that helpful either

They'll be able to tell if an explosion from outside the plane took place. There will be debris from one part of the plane in bodies of people who were sitting in another, and it'll be in multiple bodies. As well as how debris is bent in some ways. Even amongst all that shit, there will be clues like that.
There will be no doubt a missile took it down, or a maintenance issue and a missile never was shot. But good look finding who actually shot it
They did purposely start an armed conflict, they did purposely seize military weapons, and they did purposely fire a missile at a plane, and the entire time they knew that innocents would get hurt. They didn't know it would happen today, or any other date, they just knew that at some point innocent people were probably going to die. That's not okay.
Once again, I know this. I am not discussing whether the rebellion was right (which I personally believe it was not), I am just saying that these people never intended to directly kill civilians, let alone massacre 300 civilians.
Apparently there were a bunch of HIV/AIDS researchers on board. Not sure if this is late information, I haven't read the whole thread.
I hope this doesn't just end up like Syria where they had a big UN investigation that took ages and then it was just like "uhm yeah chemical weapons were used here"
I'd be inclined to believe that this plane was shot down.
A plane crash is rare to begin with... However, in that territory, with eyes in the sky and missiles at the ready... an incident was far more likely to occur.
That said, finding out who is to blame? No matter who did this. They will do everything they can to hide it, because no matter what side they are on. It'll look extremely bad for their respective comrades.
Just saw it on the news channel, UN is going to have an emergency meeting on Friday

Comedy option: Ukraine shot it down
Even /r/conspiracy is calling this one

well now im suspicious
Comedy option: Ukraine shot it down
Is it funny because I used the word comrades or you consider that an insane idea?
I do think it's far far less likely that Ukraine did it. The only reason would be a false-flag... and that's a stretch.
Is it funny because I used the word comrades or you consider that an insane idea?
The latter.
Do we have an official manifest?
There's videos of rebels talking to Russian officers about it, admitting they shot it down, and the black boxes are already being sent to Moscow (As if that means anything)
I wouldn't put too much faith in this being true or not just yet though

Take it with the amount of salt that's traditionally kept under those hangers in case of an ice storm

What matters is that they know people will continue dying, and that their actions will cause it, and that they'll continue anyway.

Not directing my suspicion at you. But... that salt is killing me.
Why would they keep records of these conversations? Why would they allow such an important conversation to leak? Are all these conversations leaked? Who leaked it? Many questions.
Excuse the conspiracy nut in me, but I'd be checking out UVB-76 for activity in the next few days - Especially as activity was noted on the station within a short while of the Crimea annexation :tinfoil:
I started listening to it yesterday, but it went quiet during the night (my time) and when I wake up this morning, the crash already happened and it was back to normal :tinfoil:
[editline]17th July 2014[/editline]
Also, the reason I started listening was because I saw one dot on the facepunch user map thingy and I got interested

Tell that to the Stasi.
What matters is that they know people will continue dying, and that their actions will cause it, and that they'll continue anyway.
Yeah, most of them are probably more conscious of the civilians around them now, but I imagine that most Separatists, after being blasted with pro-Russian dogma from friends and family, didn't think twice about the civvies when they grabbed their Kalashnikovs and sallied off to war.
It wasn't out of animosity, that. It was just being human.
I would expect by the day is out some of the people responsible will have likely killed themselves. Few men could bare this. Let us hope their comrades do reflect on their actions.

I blocked everyone on facebook who even dares test the water of this stupidity.
And my brother has been saying the same thing all morning, never have I wanted to punch anyone in my life so hard.
If any of you want some sort of confirmation. This is Igor Strelok's (leader of pro russian rebels) VK page moments after the plane was shot down.
Has since been removed, but the payback machine has this cached.
Flight MH17: AIDS conference delegates among plane crash victims, officials confirm.
Experts bound for an international AIDS conference in Melbourne have been confirmed as being among those killed in the MH17 crash.
The International AIDS Society (IAS) offered its condolences to relatives of those on board the flight in a statement on its website.
"The IAS today expresses its sincere sadness at receiving news that a number of colleagues and friends en route to attend the 20th International AIDS Conference ... were on board the Malaysian Airlines MH17 flight that has crashed over Ukraine earlier today," the statement said.
"At this incredibly sad and sensitive time the IAS stands with our international family and sends condolences to the loved ones of those who have been lost to this tragedy."

Since March 8th, Malaysian Airlines has averaged the loss of 4 people per day. Also, Airlines were warned about the risk of flying over that area but those that continued did so because the route was shorter, and thus saved fuel. It always takes something to go wrong before anyone does shit all in the name of a few dollars. Really sad
