Ouya's first exclusive to be a zombie game by former Infinity Ward Creative Strategist Robert Bowlin

Creative strategist? The ideas guy!
Cant we see what happens first? What happens if it becomes a new competitor? It would be nice to see some new competition with the wii u and hopefully the Ouya.
It won't compete with anything, it's a fucking Android phone in a case. PS360 users will still buy Sony and MS consoles because they're the more powerful and Nintendo users will still buy Nintendo consoles because of exclusives.

That can't happen because they will never secure enough funding. They had a massive amount of funding over what they asked for and then still said they needed more (and rightfully so, because they severely underestimated the costs of producing this kind of system).
this guy was infinity wards twitter dude and now he's making games for next-gen consoles and consoles that aren't even confirmed to come out, yes this is all going to happen.

My bad then, I haven't really been following ouya so I didn't know much about their financial issues.
Except OUYA is a scam.
I though they meant a Zombie bowling game, that would be an innovate game
I'm going to bump this because I like the overall zombie genre and I would have posted this if I was able to earlier.
Sounds to me like you want a specific zombie game that probably won't exist. And other then the fact that your expectations for zombie games are way too high.
Exactly. How couldn't you understand this? How are my expectations high? You haven't even heard a single idea of how a zombie game if I made it would be like, so how can you already draw assumptions?
Sounds to me like you have way too high standards.
Again?
Dead Island was a pretty big letdown, but it still was a decent game because of the four player drop in drop out coop, vehicles, crafting, and how it was fairly open world. You can also turn off the HUD, or just the silly damage notifiers that completely ruin the chances of taking the game seriously.
Well put and I would say the same thing really. Zombie animation was great along with mapping, but then let down by human animation and the shitty gun play.
Dead Rising seems like a humorous zombie killing game, never played it so I can't really say much besides that it got almost universally high reviews.
I thought it was fucking stupid how the zombies were spread by a hornet or a bee. I forgot because of how bad that excuse was. It was kinda cool but got old quick.
Resident Evil is like, the fucking staple of Zombie Games, at least 1-4 are..
I disagree but just because I'm not a fan. Your opinions are yours and mine are mine.
Left 4 Dead is about teamwork and cooperation. It's shortness is countered by its replayability and multiplayer, and also Valve's signature moddability. L4D2 also has an insane amount of mutations and also new weapons.
Granted, but not everyone has good internet, a lot of people play singleplayer games still, or play splitscreen. Until the whole world has an internet connection basically I still doubt it'd fade away in popularity then. I will grant Valves open mod stance, but I haven't played them on PC. Just Xbox so that could be a reason I hated them. I did like how it was portrayed, but I hated the linear gameplay.
Are you one of those people who wants a "true realistic zombie game" where all you do is barricade yourself in a house and sit in the corner eating cans of beans until you die?
No, but I wouldn't make the game so you couldn't do that. I want a game with sandbox gameplay, similar to Grand Theft Auto or Red Dead Redemption, but in first person. It can have multiplayer but I would emphisis mostly on a great, random single player experience. I wouldn't make the game begin the same each time, I'd like every time you begin a new game you begin in a new place with a random new character in the game world and you have to survive with the situation. It wouldn't drop you in immediately, this is where we could get people to immerse themselves in the area around them before shit hits the fan by giving them random mini quests like, go to the store, friends, etc random situation from life. You may stumble on scenes of the early chaos to come, or you could avoid it by random chance. Then once it's obvious, your priorities change to find food, water, shelter, and if you can find other people that are friendly to you, that is a plus.
I'd want to explore the extremes of humanity that a zombie apocalypse would create, because it would open anarchy to everything in social order, from government to morality. I think this could be done easily in a single player game, but I wouldn't want to make people group up with single player factions, they could exist in multiplayer if people wanted them, or they could make or take specific faction related items. Say you and your friends playing multiplayer REALLY love shotguns? What's to stop you for grouping up for that? The extreme part however is I wouldn't disallow racism, nor groups of different political ideology such as Nazis, Communists, Anarchists, etc, for the simple reasons of reality and of openness to the world. Just because I have this stance doesn't mean I like the topics in general, they're kinda bad minus Communism if it is interpreted liberally, but I wouldn't disallow a random person the ability to play as whoever the fuck they wanted to play as.
I'd also love destructible environments, because if you could change your environment for better or worse would be a lovely addition, and I was spoiled a bit with how Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 3 did their environments but they're not 100% yet. If I could go for 100% destructible environment, that would be awesome, but now this is where I feel I have way too high expectations. I could honestly throw out destructible environments as an idea but it would be a great plus.
Now that I wrote this out, this sounds extremely time exhausting and hard, but all within reason in video games today if there was a dedicated studio to make this that had the ability to.

Granted it came out of nowhere and is going to be released this fall, we'll have to wait and see.
Yes, honestly this is a game that could be a hit and miss but from what I see it could be a good game, especially if it lives up to its specifications. Another reason I'm bumping this is so more like minded people see this.
A zombie game? Unprecedented. Risky. Dangerous. Just the kind of innovative thinking we need to kick off this console.
well, here's the thing:
nobody actually wants innovation.
Gamers want well-designed games that run well. Not motion control. Not any kind of gimmicky online service. Not ultra-friend-achievement-DLC-integration networks.
The easiest way to kill a console launch is to focus on "innovation." Doing things differently only rarely means doing them well.

"COD: MW3 is the best game ever made" Sector 7, July 23, 2012.
And in this thread, we have people saying it will suck because it has IW's creative strategist on it so it will surely be bad.
Give it a chance.
What's a "Creative Strategist"? Does he actually have any experience on how to make games or is he just an ideas guy?
Anyway that game won't be released soon, if ever.
Its like every hl2 mod ever. The "ideas guy" posts on facepunch "who wants to help me make ricochet source? I know some html and have Ms paint so I can do textures and coding. Join the team at dickmunchstudios.webs.com"
