I never thought of her as trans in the slightest, but best of luck to her.
Let's say a friend serves you up a big bowl of chocolate ice cream.
It's delicious and you eat every last bit of it, only for your friend to reveal it was actually whipped cat shit with chocolate flavouring added.
If you enjoyed it, why should you care? It looked the same as ice cream, and it tasted the same as ice cream, did it not?
Oh wait, you'd be fucking disgusted.
Did you just compare trans people to cat shit
I don't want to be rude since you're all for equality and understanding and all that good stuff, but what the hell is wrong with you?
[editline]9th May 2012[/editline]
and you're allergic to Y chromosomes. holy shit
I'm angry that you can't seem to understand that we are not men. To say otherwise IS transphobic.
Understanding and feeling are two very different things. While I understand that you are not male, I can't help but feel uncomfortable, and I can imagine feeling uncomfortable finding out someone used to have a male body. I just think that's something you should tell upfront, and I'm sure I could get over it. But I wouldn't want to find out afterwards nonetheless.

I'm not arguing against telling the person, i'm arguing for you guys to stop calling us men.

Read my other posts bro, I just couldn't think of a way to express how I'd feel.
and you're allergic to Y chromosomes. holy shit
I can't help the way my sexual preferences formed, I was born like that.
This one is better than mine, I was just angry that people couldn't understand my point. And no, I didn't mean to imply anyone is 'disgusting'.
How about:
-you were born allergic to vanilla ice cream (ie you were born heterosexual)
-friend serves you chocolate ice cream
-turns out it was vanilla with chocolate flavouring added
-friend (people in this thread) says "lol why u mad for???"
Wonderful comparisons, they make perfect sense. I totally understand now.
I won't date anyone who's allergic to vanilla ice cream.

your attitude toward trans people was not formed in the womb
your attitude toward trans people was not formed in the womb
I have nothing against trans people and 100% support their rights in every way.
However, I would not like to have sex with a trans person. Does this make me transphobic?
I will vote for gay marriage, but would not have sex with a gay man. Does that make me a homophobe?
no but comparing them to cat shit ice cream does
I have nothing against trans people and 100% support their rights in every way.

You can't just say you support us and then compare us to catshit. it doesn't work that way.

It's not about if you would like having sex with them or not, we really don't care, it's the way you said it and tried to come up of an even worse way to explain it made you seem very dickish.
Read my other posts bro, I just couldn't think of a way to express how I'd feel.

I'm not seeing the problem if the woman is post-op though, it's not like you're going to die if you had sex with a woman who had a penis before she met you. it's not relevant to anything in the present day, a non-issue. I could understand pre- or non-op more easily as something more than some internalized homophobia or whatever
though to be fair most analogies around this kinda suck. but jesus, trans people and cat shit is pretty offensive
It's not about if you would like having sex with them or not, we really don't care, it's the way you said it and tried to come up of an even worse way to explain it made you seem very dickish.
The comment I was replying to was someone saying it's fine for a trans person to hide the fact in a relationship.
Which I think is disgusting and dishonest, so sorry if I flew off the handle a bit
though to be fair most analogies around this kinda suck. but jesus, trans people and cat shit is pretty offensive
Lol, what I was trying to convey was the way I'd feel if my partner had just revealed they used to be a man. I'd be physically ill.
Similar to if I'd just eaten a bowl of whipped cat shit. NOT that my partner is a bowl of cat shit.
Hope that clears it up

I can understand feeling strange after having sex with somebody who used to be of a different sex to what you usually go for, and if doesn't stop you from loving your fellow man or woman equally then no, you're not transphobic. Comparing trans people to shit does make you transphobic, as does comparing sex with them to food or anything anywhere near as subjective as that.
Basically, you should stop talking about this before you compare them a chicken being uncooked or something.

Well, if you're apologizing for the transphobic stuff you said then I guess all is forgiven. Just try not to jump off the cliff into "transphobia junction" next time. Some of the things you said were quite hurtful.
EDIT: I would edit this post in response to the shitty comment you just HAD to add, but I am tired of arguing.

Wow.
Ok, that makes me feel a lot better.

I could comment on this but I'm sick of arguing.
Yeah, a feeling to be "normal" what everyone else already is.
The reaction would be caused by confusion about the situation, since first you would think that you just had sex with a guy(if MtF), thus making you gay. If you know enough about trans-things or have to live with yourself or someone close enough being trans you are much more accepting and you wouldn't be as much shocked or creeped out about the fact. It just comes down to accepting differences.
I mean, honestly, you just had sex with a lady and it was awesome. Then you find out she used to be a male. So what? She was a lady in the first place, just her body was wrong, you just have to accept the fact. I understand it is hard to accept for people who haven't seen or understood what being trans means.
I would not say that sex with a MtF transsexual would be a gay experience, nor even if I knew they were MtF. Furthermore, only the dullest of minds would think that a single gay experience makes anyone "gay".
Hell I would not even call someone who gets off to rather-crudely-named "traps" gay. It really blurs the lines so I wouldn't call it "straight" either.
However, if I found I'd had sex with a MtF, gay or not, I would be WEIRDED OUT.
Hope that clears it up
sure.

THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SAY.
But everyone called me transphobic...
So I used some (pretty terrible) analogies to try and convey how I'd feel
Not a good idea
I didn't know how else to put it in a way that would get my point across.
I can't help that I was born heterosexual, so for you to say I should be fine with having sex with someone who isn't a female is kind of insulting.
If you can't get your point across without comparing trans people to cat shit then you really need to not even bother trying.

the damage is done bro. there's no backpedaling out of this
the damage is done bro. there's no backpedaling out of this
Mate, I'm not trying to backpedal out of anything.
I would not like to have sex with a trans person and that's that.
If you think there is something wrong with me for being heterosexual then I think you're the one who is being intolerant

Stop implying people are gay for sleeping with trans-women! Jesus christ can you get that through your head? we. are. not. men.

It's not the fact that you are heterosexual. It's the way you are trying to convey the aversion to having sex with someone who is trans.
Here I'll do you a favor and make your cat shit analogy not a load of cat shit.
Let's say a friend serves you up a big bowl of chocolate ice cream.
It's delicious and you eat every last bit of it, only for your friend to reveal it was actually coconut icecream with chocolate flavouring added. You love chocolate but absolutely hate coconut.
It looked the same as chocolate, and it tasted the same as chocolate.
As I said before I am very reluctant to attribute "gay" to any of this. Weird but not gay.

I already used that exact same one earlier, but apparently ice cream analogies are a bad idea :v:

We understand this, we're not saying you're a terrible person for not wanting to have sex with a transwoman. There is nothing wrong with it. We're not giving you shit for being heterosexual, too, even though it would NOT be gay to sleep with a transwoman, especially if you didn't know she used to be a man.
It's just the way you went around to say it. It was very disrespectful. If you were going to use the ice cream analogy, you could've just said "it's like giving someone white chocolate telling them it's vanilla when they dislike chocolate".
It's a matter of preference, not cat shit.
I already used that exact same one earlier, but apparently ice cream analogies are a bad idea :v:
No you didn't use the exact one. The last one you did compared having sex with a trans person to having an allergic reaction to something.
