oh boy i can't wait to buy the next £60 game then not be able to sell it! [editline]6th February 2013[/editline] i just hope that this isn't legit, sounds real shitty for me.
Gentlemunz. I believe we are about to enter a golden age of gaming. In this golden age, Steam will become dominant and the Steambox will be the answer to consoles.
Monopolies are horrible and so is your opinion.
I know this is fake because even a braindead microsoft employee would realize that this is literally suicide (if sony doesn't do the same thing that is)
Can anyone confirm this?
My anonymous insider at Microsoft says otherwise.
For a second there I was actually thinking the EDGE would be the name of the next xbox it's actually kinda a cool name, though
It's looking more and more like Sony is gonna be top dog of the consoles once again. [editline]6th February 2013[/editline]
I know this is fake because even a braindead microsoft employee would realize that this is literally suicide (if sony doesn't do the same thing that is)
Why? PCs have being doing it for years.
No used games? I wonder if the German consumer protection group will try to sue microsoft as they have valve.
This is it. Sony is also rumored to have implemented a similar system that even works offline. Tying discs to consoles with RFID chips and shit. With the Wii U being an underpowered console with no games, I have no place to return to but to PC gaming. (Actually, I never left  )
Just because the Wii U is "underpowered" doesn't mean it's bad. Games also take a while to come out. Just look at what happened with the PS3. (Although the Wii U had a way better launch than what PS3 had.) That's not to say I don't love my Wii U. I've only got one game (Nintendo Land) but it's still loads of fun and I love that I can be playing a game and change the channel on my TV while browsing facepunch at the same time.

This new xbox sounds like only the sheeple who buy the same regurgitated call of duty games every year would even want it. I'll stick to PC, thank you.
Jesus Christ people, We have had roughly a million rumors about the PS4 and Xbox 3. This shit will never happen
This new xbox sounds like only the sheeple who buy the same regurgitated call of duty games every year would even want it. Just because someones needs are different to yours doesnt mean they are wrong, nor should you look down on them because they are more easily satisfied. Im looking forward too the new XBOX personally. Even if its not groundbreaking the 360 has run its course. Not the greatest timing for me. As I am looking at spending another 700odd getting ready for Arma3 on my PC but I will manage to get box someone. Wishful thinking, but it would be nice for EA Sports to get there arse into gear once nextgen is here. I am tired of FIFA being absolutely terrible and having really poor gamemodes. For what is the best sport in the world (opinion) the games for it are utter shit.
Gotta love people believing this with no concrete sources.
But I hate Xbox and consoles, so it must be true!
An entire console with the always online shit? No fucking thank you
For a second there I was actually thinking the EDGE would be the name of the next xbox it's actually kinda a cool name, though
It did a 360 and got dizzy and now on the verge of falling off the edge? That would be very fitting.
So this is how it is; time for my PC to shine proud
It still plays the latest games though, isn't that enough? I will admit though, I didn't realise the console itself was THAT old.
The logic here, holy shit. Why the fuck did we ever leave the NES? It still played the latest games at the time!
Seriously though, they have to call it the Xbox³ whenever they officially announce it.
The CubiXbox™ ?? [editline]6th February 2013[/editline]
The logic here, holy shit. Why the fuck did we ever leave the NES? It still played the latest games at the time!
I think it's a good thing to question the "always the newest" trend in technology. That doesn't mean denying technological advancement but it's a good way to keep the madness that is the electronic components ressources market in mind, a self-reinforcing system that is bound to crash more sooner than later, the electronics hunger of the first world that we are seldomly aware of causes big troubles in Africa and Asia already and it hides pretty well behind phrases like "can't stop tech advancement" and "gotta go with the times"
I really, really hate the used games market, but I hate always-online DRM just as much.
Why hate the used game market? I love it.
It's times like these that make me wish my shitty toaster of a laptop could run at least something that has come out after, like, 2006...
If they block second hand games, I'm pretty much done. Really don't want to be supporting that practice, and i could easily spend that money on upgrading my computer. Same with the PS4. The main question really is how stupid are Microsoft going to be?
Not going to say a damn thing about this until we get offical sources and reveals about the new consoles. Because lets be honest here, anyone that actually does all of this will ensure the death of their console and cause the PC market to become the new "hardcore gaming" sector with the Wii U becoming the alternate console gaming standard. Many hardcore console gamers have already moved to PC as is, seeing as its a much better platform than what the 360/PS3 currently offer for gaming.
I know this has no source, but does MS making a terrible decision seem that far fetched? If you don't think so you probably lived under a rock the last couple years :colbert:
I'm just glad we actually have alternative markets and buisnesses this time for if/when the current market totally crashes under the rumored business models the main console manufacturers are thinking of doing. So it's not like we'll stop getting great games or anything. Not like the 87 crash where it literally destroyed all buyer confidence and the whole market in video games for a few years until the NES came out.
Why? PCs have being doing it for years.
Doing what? Not allowing used games? My SimCity4 begs to differ
Just another of many that have made various and dubious claims. Honestly, I won't believe any of this until an official statement is made.
Pretty much every sector of gaming is moving towards disallowing second-hand games, and forcing always-on DRM. Unavoidable at this point, and rather distressing.
Pretty much every sector of gaming is moving towards disallowing second-hand games, and forcing always-on DRM. Unavoidable at this point, and rather distressing.
Why wouldn't they go against used games? Used games are killing game companies which means companies like MS and Sony are losing money because there are less games being made for their platform.
I think this is illegal somehow so i wouldnt get to hyped about it.
