Like many have said, I will not believe any of this until an official statement. [editline]o[/editline] Thread music: [sp]this is actually the best videogame ever made and everyone should buy it on steam[/sp]
guys just wanna say, the new Xbox will also be a Transformer that may be required to save the world at one time or another, preventing usage of the console. also, it'll also have a detachable dragon dildo for memory which you can use for self pleasure purposes adding to the value of the entertainment. unfortunately any extra additions like vibrating will be dlc and tied to a single dragon dildo per console. trust me, this is credible information from tons of unlisted sources
Banning used games will kill some games. Imagine if you played a great game that you would have never gotten if it wasn't cheap used and that game is Call of Duty 4. You play Call of Duty 4 and love it so much that you buy the DLC for it. You tell your friends how great it is so they decide to buy it new. You love Call of Duty 4 so much that you decide to buy the sequel new. Now I just use Call of Duty 4 as an example, but that example just shows why used games are advantageous. $60 prices tags that never change will only scare customers away.
It still plays the latest games though, isn't that enough?
Are you fucking retarded?
The internet technology is moving too fast. Disagree all you want, wont change the fact that my internet has been piss since the 1990s and there are no other providers in my area.
Are you fucking retarded?
It was a stupid question, there's no need for that.
NeXtBox
I think it's safe to assume we're headed for always-on console DRM and a complete ban on used games. Nobody is refuting any of these rumors and the industry as a whole is trending heavily toward more restrictive DRM and less accommodation for secondhand games. I totally see Sony and Microsoft agreeing to nuke the used games market for the next round of consoles.
+ The people that cant afford to '..stick to PC, thank you' + The casuals who dont care enough to spend tonnes on a PC You call them sheep, but thats basically what you are to PC's. Just because someones needs are different to yours doesnt mean they are wrong, nor should you look down on them because they are more easily satisfied. Im looking forward too the new XBOX personally. Even if its not groundbreaking the 360 has run its course. Not the greatest timing for me. As I am looking at spending another 700odd getting ready for Arma3 on my PC but I will manage to get box someone. Wishful thinking, but it would be nice for EA Sports to get there arse into gear once nextgen is here. I am tired of FIFA being absolutely terrible and having really poor gamemodes. For what is the best sport in the world (opinion) the games for it are utter shit.
Dude, my PC costed the same as a PS3 at launch, and it could have been even cheaper and better than it currently is to be completely honest. Everyone says they have to spend tons on a PC probably because all they see on youtube is people with PCs as expensive as a used car that are an overkill even for games that really demand good hardware. You could run lots of games with smaller PCs even though you don't scale them to max settings, and they would still look better than on consoles. The only reasons to get a console is exclusives and splitscreen. There probably isn't any other reason to get one other than that. [editline]7th February 2013[/editline]
Wow it's like if an HTPC sucked dick maybe the PS4 will be good?
Haha, nope. Look at the Sony of nowadays.
I actually think having no used games would be fucking brilliant if it worked like Steam (you can log in anywhere to play them, its on your account forever) and the base price of games was reduced to $40-$50 at most with frequent sales and promos and such. Because then its pretty cheap to get new games (relatively), which is the WORST part about the current model that publishers do. In the end they'd make more money because the prices being cheaper encourage more people to buy, and with no second hand market they don't have to worry about half their user base just getting the same exact game at Gamestop for $5 cheaper used (and they get zero from that). Too bad this isn't what is going to happen though. I would bet money that games are hard-ware locked to your xbox and your account and you must have that game disc in order to play/install it, and games will still be $60, if not more, and never ever go on sale for cheaper.
Haha, nope. Look at the Sony of nowadays.
What about it?
Haha, nope. Look at the Sony of nowadays.
Now hold on a second you can't say they don't have a good chance to return to the roots and focus on what made PS2 successful.

Overall you will lose money.

I really hope these rumors are true because I want xbox to fall. Fuck live. Fuck their practices. Sony was pretty shit too but their bad decisions weren't fucking over gamers and developers purposely.
The worst part about AAA titles and consoles are the ridiculous prices on games. Value for money is at an all time low and i've spent way more time playing my $10 FTL than $90 Far Cry 3
Now hold on a second you can't say they don't have a good chance to return to the roots and focus on what made PS2 successful.
You might have proven me wrong :v:
guess i'm getting a ps4. sorry halo 5.
Time to go PC gaming methinks.
looks like i might be buying my first sony console this gen... hahaha
If industry leaders were any more disconnected from their consumer base they'd have to relocate to fucking Pluto
Given the fact that PS4 is going to be backwards compatible, not restrict you from using (Or renting for that matter) used games, and being able to play it while offline Why does Microsoft think they're going to be competitive with the horse shit loops they're imposing? I preferred an Xbox over a PS2, and a 360 over a PS3, but there's not a fucking chance I'm getting the new Xbox and not a PS4 if they're doing this

Its been stated plenty of times now.
It doesnt suprise me at all. Microsoft would do anything to stop piracy
Now that Sony has revealed it'll play used games, Microsoft would have to be utterly stupid to release their next gen console in contradiction to that.
wow I actually thought these rumors had been confirmed and a new thread had been made about the confirmation of these rumors no same old thread, same old rumors [editline]26th February 2013[/editline]
Now that Sony has revealed it'll play used games, Microsoft would have to be utterly stupid to release their next gen console in contradiction to that.
this it's pretty much not wanting to sell your console if you say it won't be able to play used games when the competition can do it and there was a massive fan backlash to even rumors of such a thing happening
Microsoft has been making very strange decisions as of late.
I really hope these rumors are true because I want xbox to fall. Fuck live. Fuck their practices. i dont think microsoft is this dumb but honestly if it happens i would prefer it. microsoft already has enough money, sony is drowning in losses
