Seriously,a religious organisation protesting at a guy's funeral?Hypocrisy defined.
I'm christian and I think this is fucking horrible.
I'm human and I think this is fucking horrible.
Though it's only a matter of time before they do it to the wrong family and it ends up with the murder of a large percentage (or all) of their church.
itt "i disagree with the opinions of individuals utilizing constitutionally assured rights so i think they should not have the right to exercise said rights"
"the right to free speech only applies when i say so!"
What the fuck.. you just don't do that at a funeral..
Protesting is one thing.
This is harassment.
page 8 yay
Sadly, according to american law, it isn't harrasment.

Seriously though, why are these Westboro people such dicks? It sounds to me they're just looking for a fight, and are using God to justify it.
federal appeals court is right 100% of time and we have to agree with it.
ok
counter-protesting in a funeral and having an arguement during it
ahh, how magical would that be
except a tea partier isn't gonna punch a liberal for expressing his opinion on republican policies
i'm pretty sure one of the many african americans you punch you for expressing his opinion that you should be lynched and promoting hateful agenda against his people.
common sense
wtf, you guys have multiple room just go watch one screen? weird ass place you live.
and people rather look out the entrance for smoke etc and wait for more people to confirm the fire rather than burning 10 dollars, you know why
common sense
maybe your opinion of a fire is a cigarette smoke
oh shit, loophole, im using this now.
and trying to incite violence on the guy because that makes them wanna punch you so badly.
^
[editline]04:05AM[/editline]
lol yes you are, the law of having a funeral an hour before and after the funeral was perfect because both side would win.
wbc can still protest the soldiers will burn in hell while the family doesn't have to listen to the ramble
instead, you'd rather support WBC at every turn
im talking the truth, im winning this argument.
What is this I don't even.
Look, he's not supporting what they're doing, he's not saying they should be doing what they're doing. He's saying it's their right to do so, and it is our right to have the opinion that they are batshit insane.
i'm pretty sure one of the many african americans you punch you for expressing his opinion that you should be lynched and promoting hateful agenda against his people.
Right, he probably would. That doesn't give him the right to, and it doesn't mean he would get off scot-free.
emotional distress and lacking common sense
I see no violation of rights here.
I can see your heart is in the right place, but you're really just flat-out wrong.
Find that man and give him a few god damn medals.
Bloodthirsty? Hardly. Pepperballs sting for a while, but that is about the end of it.
Had one of them actually been seriously hurt, it would have just been like a martyr situation. And, for all their faults, they don't desire to die or be permanently hurt. Legally speaking or just plain morally speaking. If the guy responsible is caught, he should serve time for the assault.
It doesn't mean that I wouldn't like them to feel massive discomfort for a brief period of time.
Funerals aren't for the dead. They are for the families. They have done nothing wrong and nothing to deserve having that funeral ruined by those homophobic assholes.
Not to mention Westboro is brainwashing the poor kids of their members into being hate machines just like they are. That is beyond fucked up and is probably the worst thing they have done to date.
i was more referring to the numerous posters and RayvenQ who called for the death of WBC
i hate WBC probably just as much as you do but i realize wishing for the death of them or hurt on them is only my emotions getting the better of me.
WBC is like that one kid that kept on fucking with your stuff at school but when you fought back you got in trouble
WBC is like that one kid that kept on fucking with your stuff at school but when you fought back you got in trouble
This, Fucking this.
How about 7.62x39mm rounds im sure that would make them shuit the fuck up.
I think it's 7.62x51mm
I think it's 7.62x51mm
those are two separate rounds
I think it's 7.62x51mm
7.62 x 39mm was designed for the AK47
7.62 x 51mm is used in NATO Battle Rifles, it was a replacement for the .308 Winchester round used in the Second World War.
7.62 x 54mmR was designed for the Mosin Nagant rifle and was replaced with the 7.62 x 39mm round after the Second World War as it was much more powerful than it needed to be. It is still used in Medium Machine Guns and Sharpshooting Rifles.
Why do they protest soldier funerals anyway? I know they've done it before, but even visiting their website doesn't hold any answers.
Learn to read, the article explained why they protested at the funerals.
EDIT: Holy shit I didn't realize this was such a long thread.
My cousin was killed in Iraq and these fucks were there this was in 2005. If you don't think that these "people" deserve nothing less that the very damnation they think everyone else will receive you have no concept of justice. If you don't want these people dead think if that was your family member, or friend. Ive gone through that and the level of rage that it brings me is without measure. Vigilante justice is perfectly justifiable, I just wish I would have had the sack to take it into my own hands.
Poor sentence structure I know sorry just so much rage about this topic.
Pepper spray won't stop them, get something worse. Like bees.
Africanized (killer) bees, tbh.
Of course they're well within their rights to do this, no one is denying this. But they're pissing people off with their opinions, and the government isn't responsible for what the people do. The constitution says that the government can't restrict the people's freedom of speech, and it can't. But if they piss off the general population (IE. 99.99999% of the US population, it's no one's fault but theirs if something happens to them.
Also before someone says black people in the 60's. They were fighting for freedoms, WBC is fighting to take freedoms away.
fuck the WBC

That's because Facepunch ITN is populated by sociopaths who don't understand the value of human rights, unless those rights happen to be the right to troll and ignorantly inflame situations, something which none of them would ever give up. Unless you injure/kill a kitten/puppy, or you are some celebrity. Then you deserve to die horribly in an extremely violent manner.
Justin Bieber has a new album? I hope he dies of some horrifying disease. France is deporting all the Gypsies? Fucking gypsies I hope someone murders them for being gypsies and they suck. Someone opposes the Westboro Baptist Church? Look you sociopath violent immature ten year old child, you have no right to call for violence against a group of people who are just exercising their freedom of speech.
Where in my post did I call for violence?
I'm simply explaining why it's happening.
How about paintballs? I'd love to see them all get pelted by a barrage of paintballs out of nowhere.
bullets are much more effective.
Free speech amendment? Your rights end where another's begins, everyone should have the right to grieve over their family without worrying about people protesting that he deserved to die outside the funeral procession. Those people are heartless bastards, and the judge who disregarded the law is an idiot.
He is a god damn hero !
Don't forget the soldier who died, too.
