• Google Chrome now the most popular browser in the world

Doesn't surprise me. Chrome is advertised on google.com for all browsers that aren't Chrome, so it's reaching a massive audience.
Okay, go and use Firefox, when it inevitably has a massive stroke you can watch all of your tabs and the entire browser crash in one go. (at least it will stop it pissing memory away)
The only time I have ever had Firefox freeze is when flash crashes (I can't actually remember the last time Firefox itself crashed, must've been at least a few years), and that can easily be solved by ending plugin-container.exe and refreshing the page (if you want to reload the flash content that is, otherwise you could just continue browsing). Although this does mean that all flash content in all tabs is closed until the page is reloaded, but that's certainly better than having to have every tab as a separate process.
I wonder if Opera Mobile & Mini have more users than the desktop version. I know for a fact they've got quite a hold on the Android market.
Just go to the site and check it out. They've got stats for many things. Desktop and Mobile are separated.
Literally the only problem I have ever had with FF is the inability to save your tab groups.(AFAIK) Life Example: I use the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" option when FF starts. Lets say I open a new window, and close my main window first, so the only remaining window is a single page. I go to start FF again and it will only open that single tab that I had last opened. My fault I know, but I have done it twice now :( I do not like the way chrome handles the processes (I understand the reasoning) but even IE9 is faster than it for me these days, and my FF is barely slower.
I've been using firefox for a long time and the only times it crashes is because of plugins(flash and unity player). Otherwise I haven't suffered any crashes from FF. It does eat up a lot of memory if left on for a long time. I heard it's caused by adblock, but I don't want to turn that off.
I tried using Firefox 10 or whatever the fuck it was then and nearly everyday when watching YouTube videos or using anything that caused flash to crash, the whole browser would die. I would lose everything. Chrome, on the other hand, just crashes that plugin and rarely that tab.
Firefox couldn't handle 300+ tabs, so I changed to Chrome. After losing them four times due to shitty crash-recovery, I try to keep it under 50. Still using Chrome though, better than Firefox, even with the terribad crash recovery.
not handling 300 tabs is a problem? I don't think I've ever had more than about 150 open
I use Chrome and I don't ever see myself switching anytime soon. It has everything I want in a browser and nothing I don't want. It's pretty much the closest thing to my idea of the perfect browser.
Reading through this thread has made me seriously consider switching from Firefox to Chrome. My only concern is: are there any addons or plugins or whatever that are the equivalent of Firefox's NoScript and AdBlockPlus? I don't think I could live without NoScript. :v:
ScriptNo is the NoScript equivalent on chrome.
Hahah internet explorer is now the most popular browser again according to the statcounter website in the source :v:
Let the games begin. [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline]
Mostly because Google advertises for it EVERYWHERE.
And Microsoft doesn't advertise IE everywhere, either?
Okay, go and use Firefox, when it inevitably has a massive stroke you can watch all of your tabs and the entire browser crash in one go. (at least it will stop it pissing memory away)
I use Opera and it literally takes 12 seconds to restart it.
opera looks so lonely at the bottom of the chart :c
IE will soon give it a bit of company
I hope Midori gets this plugin/tab-crash-doesn't-crash-browser thing. Because if I close a page and flash player doesn't quit perfectly, the entire browser just CTDs.
I use Opera and it literally takes 12 seconds to restart it.
I feel sorry for you.
My brother who supposedly knows more about computers than I do still uses IE. I don't understand it. I tell him that it's better and you can have html.5 but he won't listen. I even downloaded it to their computer and he deleted it when he noticed, claiming it was a waste of space.
So I just made the big switch to Chrome. I decided to get a theme and... http://filesmelt.com/dl/What_Have_I_done.png (URL'd due to size) OH FUCK. OH FUCK. THIS WAS A MISTAKE.

I would definitely switch to Chrome since FF has performance issues sometimes buuuut I'm too attached to my add-ons.
And Microsoft doesn't advertise IE everywhere, either?
The point is, most people use IE because it's the default and they don't even know there are (better) alternatives. By advertising, Google solved that.
No, this did.
[thumb]http://i.imgur.com/IsWJK.png[/thumb] ???
Let the games begin. [editline]22nd May 2012[/editline] And Microsoft doesn't advertise IE everywhere, either?
Generally no? I mean I don't recall a big IE add anywhere, like the chrome ones on google and youtube.

Oh whoops it turns out to be a lie...
Netmarketshare says IE has 54% Statcounter says IE has 32.42% WC3School says IE has 18.3% It's kind hard to say who's right or wrong. But I think I trust netmarketshare the most.
Remember when Firefox was the most powerful browser in the world. I don't. Google Chrome, most powerful in the universe. I'm sure the aliens fucking love this shit while they troll UFO/Conspiracy forums.
I had enough of firefox after they keep crashing and running slow. That's why I switched to Google Chrome. Also Spongebob Squarepants predicted the future. Everything is Chrome in the Future.
