Pregnant Women Hit, Pepper-Sprayed By Police, Miscarries
oh god, nothing that happened before this was shit compared to this. Now this shit is going to EXPLODE.
No the media is good at laying on the pressure. The right-wingers heavily believe this movement is a giant amount of druggies, welfare collectors, and liberal (stupid in their ideal head) college students who want handouts.
It's a horrible atrocity, and the cops should definitely be punished.
Still, the woman seemed fairly unfit to have a child. I understand that she was trying to protect it by leaving, and that's great, but being homeless and putting your unborn child in potential danger in the first place raises questions in itself.
Again, that doesn't justify anything, but it's something to consider.
They were peacefully protesting. She should not have had to worry about being beaten or attacked by anyone.
Blaming her for being at the protest is dumb.
But, of course, I don't know the details, this is one side of the story, and if it's true it's a terrible and sad thing.
I guess I'm just a little apprehensive to believe this especially since it seems all too convenient. She went to the doctor afterwards and they said that the baby was fine, but later it wasn't? And they can't get a hold of the documents to prove that what happened at the protest caused the miscarriage? I'm not saying that she killed the baby obviously, but it could have died because of some other reason. She was homeless, so it's possible she could be malnourished, lack proper vitamins, etc, and that could have caused the miscarriage. The whole fact that the name of the baby was supposed to be "Miracle" just kind of puts me off for some reason.
I just can't help but feel that they might be leveraging this as a way to gain support for the movement and get exposure.
Entirely possible, but I've been finding such cynical thoughts are far too brilliant for the idiots people against OWS claim them to be.
I highly doubt the OC caused the miscarriage.
It was likely the physical trauma that caused it.
There also could be other factors that we honestly do not know about and likely will not hear of.
Well, if the police caused the physical trauma that caused the baby to die...doesn't that tie them to the miscarriage then?

It's extremely cynical I know, and I hope it's not true that they're twisting the story of this miscarriage . Either situation is terrible and there really is no right answer.
A woman lost her unborn child for whatever reason, and that's terrible enough.

Also, this seems to be the only source about this information.

A lot of OWS news is from blogs, don't expect any big named media outlets to actually report most stories until some blogger gets the cases going.
If being at a protest is a dangerous situation itself something is wrong with America.
Whenever you have a large amount of people in an area, especially when they believe strongly in a cause, there is always the chance of a dangerous situation forming.
Regardless though, this is rather sad and it's a shame it happened (provided it actually did if there really are no other sources).
Also, while what the police did surely didn't help, I wonder if there were other factors at play (being that the victim was homeless and all).
Well apparently it's because she's a drunk and a druggie (marijuana).
The evidence is her FB apparently. I somehow doubt she did either while pregnant.
What's with all the violence lately... Can't we at least try to get along?
What's with all the violence lately... Can't we at least try to get along?
I doubt it.
What's with all the violence lately... Can't we at least try to get along?
Have we ever truly all gotten along?
What's with all the violence lately... Can't we at least try to get along?
Police abusing their powers cause they can? But remember! Don't blame the police, this malicious pregnant woman was coming at him, your first instinct is to kick them in the stomach. Right?
Greatest contry in the world, hello, I have a question;
Why is nothing done about these fucking pigs?
It might help if you quit your childish ranting and stop calling them 'fucking pigs'.

Since when does marijuana make you miscarriage?
Since when does marijuana make you miscarriage?
Since the government said so.
I'll bet you anything that the pro-life Republicans won't frown on this like they do abortion.

That's how we get the right winger's on board! we call this a "Criminally Forced Abortion"... they'll go nuts!
That's how we get the right winger's on board! we call this a "Criminally Forced Abortion"... they'll go nuts!
But in all seriousness . Isn't it a criminal abortion as well as murder? I'm not pro-life or anything but an abortion that someone doesn't want is still wrong.

I will certainly agree to that. I'm sure if it would ever be tried, it wouldn't be as anything other than murder or even more likely involuntary manslaughter.
Has anything happened to the bad cops at all? I have read several stories about this but I haven't really seen anything being done about it.

nope, not a one as far as I know.

Anonymous has started a campaign against cops that commit brutality. Other then that they seem to be getting away with it.

Weird. But doesn't the police have a national police board that checks up on this? What about the department of justice, they handled stuff like this I think.
how
is
this
legal

Well, I'm sure there is. This act will probably be taken care of and he'll probably get charged. If they know which cop did it. But they get away with it by claiming it was necessary and usually they over-exaggerate their story to escape possible charges.
Hahahahahahahahaha. I highly doubt that. Enjoy life in prison being treated extra shitty by the guards.
"What are you in for?"
"Killed the cop that killed my wife's baby."
And then he becomes the most famous guy in prison and nobody fucks with him.

Unless a jury/judge or whatever who takes care of this is stupid, the charges shouldn't just fly away. When people are coughing up blood, misscarriages and getting hospitalized I think there should be some idiot cull in the police.
A trick question should do it!
"What do we do when people are peacefully protesting?"
A: Pepperspray and use excessive force
B: Carefully watch over the protesters
If they answer A, they are fired.
I would like to justify the cops action. But looking at the posts in this thread, it will just cause a flame. Fox wins the sympathy of FP.
if that happen to my future wife carrying my child... I will fucking kill the cop... literately the most bloodiest way possible and bathe in his blood... this is so fucking beyond the line.
edit: now the people who voted me dumb are either stupid or retarded. Let see how you guys like it if this child was yours and a corrupted officer forcefully cause a miscarriage...
Well, if she was my wife and in her late months, I wouldn't let her be in such place. You following me boss?

Problem is that they don't go straight to court. They go to their superiors, who I might add are also cops. And they explain their reasons or doing whatever it is they did, and I'm sure sayin "The meanie camp at me screaming and flailing her arms with a knife, I kicked her to keep her away from me." Works eeeeevery time.

I'd love to hear your reasoning for kicking a lady in the stomach for trying to walk out of a crowd of people. I am genuinely interested.
shouldn't the title be womAN not womEN

You're really trying to justify this?
