I would like to justify the cops action. But looking at the posts in this thread, it will just cause a flame. Fox wins the sympathy of FP.
Well, if she was my wife and in her late months, I wouldn't let her be in such place. You following me boss?
I hope you realise that you've stabbed yourself with your own point - If a peaceful protest is actually a hazard to your baby's life, then something is very, very fucked up.
According those republicans with their protect live and anti-abortion acts, this would count as murder right?
Problem is that they don't go straight to court. They go to their superiors, who I might add are also cops. And they explain their reasons or doing whatever it is they did, and I'm sure sayin "The meanie camp at me screaming and flailing her arms with a knife, I kicked her to keep her away from me." Works eeeeevery time.
I don't think their superiors will be all to happy to read this in the news. Hopefully, they will do something about it and get to the bottom of this fucking mess.

As well as the fact that of just one person throws a fist a cop, they attack the whole crowd. That's just like if a puppy bit a kid , putting the whole litter down for the action of one pup.

3 months qualifies as 'late months'?

hey man, i won't flame you if you try and justify a cop giving a lady a miscarriage by kicking her in the gut! i'd be interested in seeing how you justify such a thing. and also, maybe in saudi arabia you're allowed to control where your wife goes, but this is america, you following me boss?

Oh, wow, just noticed he apparently lives in Saudi Arabia. The laws down there are pretty much from the medieval ages, so no surprise he's trying to justify this.

the REAL issue here is why did the officer not also severely beat her for leaving the house without her husbands permission?!

The women obviously fell on the officers foot and the officer responded accordingly. He tried to get away from the horrid women so he had to kick and pepperspray her off.
Easy
Or maybe given how most protests seem to be erupting in violence the logical thing to do would be not to go if you're pregnant and shouldn't really be getting pepper sprayed.

hey man, why don't the police use some logic too?? such as, not assaulting a woman who just screamed out that she's pregnant and is trying to leave! or, not assaulting a woman who isn't doing anything violent at all!
Or maybe given how most protests seem to be erupting in violence the logical thing to do would be not to go if you're pregnant and shouldn't really be getting pepper sprayed.
Which she totally asked for?
Peaceful protests are exactly supposed to be that. Sure, protests getting out of hand are far from uncommon but still, it's not like you're asking for it.
Having said that, going to a protest which has already had its fair share of less than peaceful events while pregnant is definitely not the brightest of ideas.
That's fine, I didn't want to be happy today anyway. Boiling over with anger is just the mood I was looking for.
The cops were in the wrong, no doubt, but violence isn't exactly new at these protests, it was pretty dumb of her to go in the first place.
And now there is a death... Watch now as the child is made a martyr for the OWS movement.
We only have this girl's side of the story, so I'm taking this with a grain of salt.
She only miscarried a week later, even though the day after she went to get examined and there was no problem. Miscarriages happen in 20% of all pregnancies without anything in particular to trigger them, don't forget about that
Even if it wasn't what the cops did that made her miscarry, the way they treat a peaceful movement is still utterly disgusting
The cops were in the wrong, no doubt, but violence isn't exactly new at these protests, it was pretty dumb of her to go in the first place.
Yes let's not go to protests because cops are assaulting civilians and now murdering them.
You do realize that's exactly the kind of terrorism the government is actively applying to this entire situation?
As much as America takes an active part in the "War against Terror" they're by far the biggest terrorists in the modern world. Both in their own country and on a global scale.
Alright. That's it. I could deal with merciless pepperspraying of students, Even if i found it reprehensible, But. This. Means. War. I hope this guy loses his job, His Wife leaves him, His kids are taken away from him, And he is charged with manslaughter. You do /fucking not pepper spray pregnant women/. even /I/ have standards.
All in all, It's just another brick in the mounting wall of evidence.
Okay, I'm not trying to be a dick or anything, but:
1. If she was pregnant, why the hell would she even go to the protest?
2. Why did she think that she'd be allowed to cross a police barrier because she was shouting "I'M PREGNANT"? Did she think she'd be heard over everyone else also yelling and screaming at the police?
if that happen to my future wife carrying my child... I will fucking kill the cop... literately the most bloodiest way possible and bathe in his blood... this is so fucking beyond the line.
edit: now the people who voted me dumb are either stupid or retarded. Let see how you guys like it if this child was yours and a corrupted officer forcefully cause a miscarriage...
Because bathing in a police officer's blood isn't ridiculously over the top.

She was screaming it so they wouldn't shoot her in the fucking head with a gas canister then mercilessly beat her with metal batons like all the other protestors at every past event.

1. A peaceful protest should never have any risk of becoming violent in the first place
2. It's to alert the police so that they wouldn't try to attack her because she is carrying an unborn child.
If the media takes this the right way, mabye this is one time I'll be on their side for putting on pressure.
This is going to make me sound like a terrible person to you guys, but I've supported the police for the most part during this ordeal, but the pepper spray incident at U.C. Davis and this incident cross the line.
The officer that pepper sprayed the students should, of course, be punished, but this officer needs to be imprisoned. Not any sort of slap on the wrist stuff.

Such a hyperbole.
Just because it happened to one person, that doesn't mean that every protester is given that treatment.

The American police are so fucking stupid over here that they think they can do that, so it all plays out. And luckily in Texas the police are usually pretty chill in my area.
Kinda funny actully:v:
I mean, the cop might be dead tomorrow

Have you even looked at any sort of eyewitness video or photographs of the protests? The police are goddamn kicking and dragging /unarmed people/. they're acting like the Gestapo
so this is murder, but abortion isn't?
make up your mind people.

I'm actually rather impressed with the protesters' restraint from lashing back at those attacking them. We'd have riots and a lot more bloodshed had they not had such restraint throughout this entire ordeal (plus it'd be more justified, in the Police's eyes, to attack as they could claim 'self-defense' and probably get away with it).

Abortion is voluntary on the part of the pregnant woman. This is involuntary and caused by police brutality.
There's a difference.
