The fact that people get their lives destroyed by the government for growing some flowers is disgusting. Some people totally get off the hook and others get fucked over hard, it's unfair. Can't wait to see the day this shit is legalized across the country so people can finally enjoy life and be happy without fear of being crushed by some tyrannical government bullshit. That does way more harm to someone's life than the drug itself
"Just some flowers" eh, you know opium is also "just a flower"? Sounds pretty innocent when you put it that way.
ending stoner culture is the main reason I'm pro-legalization tbh
imagine it 40 years from now where stoners are seen as a beautiful hippie-like movement, and everyone who found them obnoxious as cranky old people who just hated anything new
Overfertilizing and overwatering combined with a lack of proper lighting and, I'd wager during this season, heating.
It's a shame, really. It's a lot harder to ruin a plant than it is to grow it.
How hard is it to grow weed?
Legitimate question. I mean there's a guy I went to highschool with that I used to buy my pot from that was an absolute retard and the guy grew his own stock. Was some good shit too.
i once tried growing pot but the lights were so powerful that they burned the plants after like 4 days
i gave up

about as hard as growing kudzu. weed is hardy as fuck.

Good quality seeds, soil, a decent light source, air, and water is all you need. You can grow really potent weed for less than a grand in a small space, but you'll have to spend more than 200 on some kit to make it work right.
It's definitely better than alcohol, people who drink are self righteous hypocrites of the highest caliber if they don't support cannabis legalization.

It's called weed for a reason; not very hard
It's called weed for a reason; not very hard
I know right? I've got to pull those damn things out of my garden every week!
I would smoke it. Out of PITY.

Ha, you think it'll go away.
To be honest I want the lame ass idea that stoners are annoying, obnoxious people to go away but there's always shitheads in a group, no matter what, so you're only going to see the negative if you want to.
I think weed culture is just some edgy crap people do because its illegal though. it'll become like meth culture or something if weed is legalized
I mean seriously what does this bit of stupid mean.
This is why I grow in a space bucket (Not mine, but mine is built essentially the exact same way)
I'm also against legalization because I don't want stoners to think they've accomplished something.
It's a tricky thing so I just leave it empty on the ballot
I didn't realize stoners were such a big problem for people. Haven't personally ran into the people you're describing. They must be real scumbags if you really don't want to legalize it for everyone to enjoy because of the possibility that they may feel good about themselves.
I mean, I've met a couple of assholes who also happen to smoke weed but none like the ones you're describing.

you're taking that all wrong. there's nothing wrong with smoking weed, there's nothing wrong with cultures that involve smoking weed (ie. rastafarianism and hinduism) but this is fucking annoying

I mean I don't like everything with pot leaves on it either, but that's a really weak argument.
Stockton? Yeah, this really isn't surprising
I smoke weed everyday and I think stoners are the worst
[editline]19th February 2016[/editline]
I don't own a single item with a weed leaf on it.
governments have no idea how much revenue their missing out on with cannabis being illegal
didn't the states in America who fully legalised it showed more tax revenue ever when the bill came into full effect?
I remember reading somewhere that Colorado actually had a surplus of revenue thanks to marijuana taxation so they were trying to organize a massive tax refund to all citizens or something lol. The fact that there is anybody in America (or the world) that thinks weed should be illegal is seriously mindblowing. It's like knowing that a significant portion of the population thinks 2+2=5, it's just impossible to wrap my head around it.
I mean I don't like everything with pot leaves on it either, but that's a really weak argument.
I don't care to stop people from smoking weed, I care to stop angsty teens from bragging about it
I don't care to stop people from smoking weed, I care to stop angsty teens from bragging about it
Angsty teens bragging about drugs and alcohol isn't anything new, if anything that's not just a stoner problem.
Kind of weird. I mean, attempted murder is still punishable right? I'm not at all saying growing weed is anywhere near as bad as murder, but if it's illegal, an attempt to do it should still be an offence as far as I understand it.
Generally speaking, crimes can be seperated into 3 types.
a) Those for which even preparation is criminal
b) those for which an attempt carries the same penalty as execution
c) others
On top of that it's questionable what he can be actually charged with. There's two possibilities.
a) attempted toxicomania - debatable if toxicomania is a crime in the UK
b) attempted possession which generally carries a much less charge, usually as a fine.
I don't care to stop people from smoking weed, I care to stop angsty teens from bragging about it
why do you even care though? Why do you care about "angsty teens" bragging about it, it's not like they're your kids or threatening you with saying 'dank 420 on you brother'

I drink because
1) I can go out with friends and have beers and wings at a bar
2) If I get pulled over with a 6pack in the car I'm not going to jail
Calling people that drink booze 'self righteous hypocrites' if they don't care enough to support legalization is really shitty, dude.
Watch it now, people will attempt to grow weed more weirdly in order to earn their "spared-from-jail" cards :v:

The point is that cracking open a beer or lighting up a joint when you get home after work are roughly equivalent, and if you enjoy the former while insisting the latter remain illegal, BU is asserting that's self-righteous hypocrisy.
I don't know that smoking weed at a bar is something that'd necessarily happen depending on how things were regulated when legalization did hit, but there are vapour lounges already which are fairly equivalent establishments. If legalization came through I'm sure something similar to the "beer and wings at a bar" scenario would come about. Weed and burgers or something.
If weed was legalized you could get pulled over with a half-ounce in your pocket and not go to jail. If alcohol was prohibited again, you'd go to jail over that six-pack. Do you see how your second statement is merely supporting the status quo?
Kind of weird. I mean, attempted murder is still punishable right? I'm not at all saying growing weed is anywhere near as bad as murder, but if it's illegal, an attempt to do it should still be an offence as far as I understand it.
the only thing that they could possibly get him on (i'm not familiar with criminal uk law tho) would likely be conspiracy charges, which has an element of intent. intent is funky (at least in the american system) because it plays into certain charges but not others. this is the reason why people who plot to do something like a bank robbery generally can't get picked up until they've made some sort of move. the only really successful way to prove intent of a conspiracy is to actually get someone in the midst of acting on it. it must be actionable.
so in regard to this case, the evidence in court as is basically demonstrates that even if this guy wanted to sell his weed, he didn't actually have the capability to do so. sure, at some point in the future he might have had it, but at the point that this case occurred (which is all they can use their evidence for, this isn't future thought police stuff) there was nothing that showed ability to commit the crime itself of dealing.

I live in a state in America where I can drive around with an ounce of pot in the car, go to cannabis clubs to smoke and eat with my friends, then go home to tend to my six plants.
My opinion stands, even if you don't agree with it.

Your opinion is needlessly aggressive. Just because someone doesn't come out in support of something doesn't make them a hypocrite. I wouldn't vote against legalizing pot but I doubt I'd make a point to vote for it either. I don't smoke weed now and I wouldn't start if it was legal.
Enjoying alcohol with that mindset does not make me a hypocrite.

This is (or at least, was as of 2014) an operating pizzaria in Vancouver, BC. Patrons have to bring their own weed unless they have a medical card (and then they can order a weed pizza).
