SP is great but i haven't really played MP yet except for the mp demo
i'm waiting for a c++ sdk like there is in crysis wars, and not the sandbox 2 editor only
I absolutely love this game, it's not like other generic FPS'es. Usually I really don't enjoy the campaigns when it comes to FPS games but this game blows me away. The Crysis series is really cool.

I haven't played MP either, I just hope the server browser is better than the terrible one in the demo.

its not
The only non-linearity in Crysis 2 is "Do I want to shoot the guy in the face or do I want to go into these sewers and get behind the guy and snap his neck"
That's pretty much the only alternate option, the occasional small sewer system
If you think that's non-linear then you need to play something like Deus Ex or Chaos Theory.
oh no it's technically linear so i can't enjoy it
I don't think we were disputing that, Half-Life & Half-Life 2 were technically linear and I think we can all agree about how good it was.
I'll say one thing though, the AI definitely feels much better this time around. Though that may be because they don't have to deal with destructible buildings and trees all over the place.

Yeah, all it is is some clearly signposted alternate routes.
I don't really care if it's linear, I really only care about the gameplay. The gameplay is great to be honest.
I personally think linear or non linear, it really doesnt make a game bad/good either way
Its overly linear for being the sequel to such an open shooter like Crysis 1.
Crysis 2 isn't that linear in terms of killing/taking out an objective, but it's extremely linear compared to it's preprocessor. Back then, there was just an open terrain of fuck and you can do your mission as you see fit to plan. Whatever you did was your own plan, your own method, your own idea. In C2, it's just a small open pocket and equip your binocs and let the game tell you where you can go. Set predefined paths that lead to the same objective. IE: seeing an area marked as "stealth", or "ambush". It just doesn't feel as open as Crysis1 when the game literary tells you, you can only go here, here, and here. Where as the first game it was pretty much do as you please and come up with your own idea to get to the objective, so when completing something, you feel a lot more sense of accomplishment seeing as how you executed the plan that you came up with so efficiently, rather than just saying, okay I'm going to take the predetermined path of "stealth" or "snipe".
I keep finding full server, and I keep being told that 'The serial key is currently in use'.
Anyone else get this in multiplayer?
Wot I think: For God's sake, spell it correctly.
Seriously, it was ok for the first time, but now that intentional misspelling is irritating me so much...
Do they need every single article about major games to have it?
I dont understand why you care so much....

Yes. click multiplayer, then singleplayer then multiplayer. Fixes the issue permanently :D

Its gone from massive open area choice doing whatever you want to do (I picked run at enemies in speed then strength them with my fists ehehehe) to "Go here kill shit". It was especially bad when as lazylion said the game literally points it out to your face what you're meant to be doing :/

I thought the AI was much better in the first, in crysis 2 they have the peak of splinter cell AI
Hey, my friend is dead on the floor over there and i heard gunshots.. must just be a false alarm. They dont spray you (much) anymore when you go invisible, theres no flanking of any description, and they all just stand motionless waiting for you to walk up to them and kill them in some boring repetitive way
If they see a dead buddy they run over to where he is and search the surrounding area. I've been sniping a few of the little buggers a few times only to have some pop up behind me, and they spray like fuck whenever you cloak.
Plus I like listening to their conversations/battle chatter. It's slightly more stimulating to listen to than 'YANKESHEQUEDA' and 'YOU CANNEH HIDE FROM ME'. Reminds me of the marines/hecu from Half life, especially since they kind of have the same job.

This person obviously hated the game to begin with or else he wouldn't put the effort into making such a video.
I heard it already has a multiplayer crack. Way to fuck up your port crytek

That was made on the leaked beta, he made it on March 5th. He pirated it.

Crysis 1 didn't even need a crack to play multiplayer, so stop with this stupid "port" shit.
People need to stop loving or hating so blindly. It's very obvious that the design choices in Crysis 2 were made because of the limitation in hardware in the X360 and PS3.

Port?
Crysis 2 is a console port. It's so glaringly obvious.
it's not a port
it was just made with them in mind
Crysis 2 is a console port. It's so glaringly obvious.
Yeah, the lack of advanced graphics options mean that this game is a console port.
Not a bad game, but I still prefer first one and Warhead.
Why is there no saving function in this game...
Crysis 2 is a console port. It's so glaringly obvious.
Well, no. Not really.
I admit to being elitist over being a PC gamer, but I don't go around calling any franchise that was shared with the console gamers a port. Making multiplatform games is a great way to earn money and it's hard to make a game that will please people that don't use their PCs. PC Gamers tend to enjoy strategy based games and console gamers often prefer more action packed games with cutscenes. They were trying to balance it out.
Why is there no saving function in this game...
Because they designed it with consoles in mind.
it's a console port
the lack of advanced graphics options and the fact that it asks you to adjust your tv settings might be a clue
good game though

If you stripped the RPG features from Deus Ex and gave it a hard goal at all times, it's pretty much on the same vein of DX as far is linearity goes.
DX wasn't "non-linear" either - you still had conrete goals you had to achieve before moving on. It's just that the levels were very open ended and almost "playground" in nature - as if they took place in tiny open-world spaces.
Crysis 2 is still kinda like that - though obviously not to the level of DX was. The levels are rather open affairs still, and there's plenty of options to proceed to your objective. Except in an action game sense and not a stealthy RPG-shooter sense like DX.
