So what if I don't have internet, I can't play the game I bought? I bought your last three titles dicks, at least you could ease up on the shit DRM.
When was the last time you didn't have internet connection?
Fantastic

Daily for periods of a few minutes at a time every couple of hours for the last year

My internet is pretty spotty because I live on a island
Fuck off, what about people with download caps?
I've seen invasive DRM but this is just past the line. Way to screw the paying customer.
Warez will always be there. Make a DRM, crackers will find a way to hack it. Make a bigger, more intrusive DRM, crackers will find a way to hack it AND you'll lose your paying customer.
You should just deal with it, game companies. If your game is being torrented, feel good, because it's popular. Make some features that can only be enjoyed with the paid client, like official servers and most importantly, constant patches.
hey guys you should probably read a bit better...
Imagine talking to a NPC and suddenly the text goes 404
worst drm ever
i'll pass
Not sure if good or bad. It'll save a lot of HD space and download time, but at the same time I want the entire thing on my computer to play then, there, when I feel like it.
DRM always gets cracked anyways. You saw it with From. It got delayed to add an extra DRM.
It got cracked the day before release.
I don't think they could be this stupid.
There must be some kind of a misunderstanding in something, because if there isn't, then they will fall hard in this one.
I think this makes pirating the game a more attracting option than buying it.
What about people with slow connections or bandwith limits? this is just hurting their loyal customers, just like any other DRM.
So basically everybody in Australia then.
STALKER 2?
Hasn't there already been three?
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 3 2 then.
What about people with slow connections or bandwith limits?
They don't give a shit if your experience is bad or if you can't play the game. If you know it doesn't work you've already bought it and they have your money.
Oh GSC, I expected better from you of all developers. What happened to being for the fan?
I don't blame them, more people pirated Stalker titles then actually bought them. I blame pirates.
Didn't even know this was being made, now I will forget again and not really care.
As long as they stick to steam I'll tolerate it.
I am seriously looking towards text masterpieces like adjustable butt cheeks flowing through my connection.

I am going to buy it and [DATA EXPUNGED]
It looks like some pirate is just going to run through the game downloading all of the content and then releasing it, and this shitty DRM will be null and void. I'm not going to buy a game that streams all the fucking way to south africa.

Shame that pirates kill gaming companies like this. It's the same pirates that have driven most game makers onto consoles.
Still going to buy it. STALKER is awesome.
Oh come on guys, it's not pirates that caused this really. It's just over reaction. Pirating has existed as long as gaming has been popular, and plenty of Devs get a fuckton of money from their games without DRM.
This DRM is shit, there's no reason for it, we all know that, but don't blame it on the people.

Can't wait for your local ISP to go out of business.

Personally, most companies that started developing for the PC and then switched to console games now make very mediocre modern warfare FPS shooters.
If GSC will fuck up at STALKER 2 they can always revert back to their old dream of making the best RTS ever.

Still, this isn't going to fix anything
It's going to delay the cracked version for a week at most

That too. Sergei himself said this: "If a game is valued greatly it shall not be pirated. The smaller the value the more pirated copies there shall be."
It's common fucking sense, you can't blame flops on piracy. You can only blame them on draconic DRMs, bad advertising and bad desing.

Can't wait for your local ISP to go out of business.
Yeah, the biggest ISP of this country will absolutely go out of business because I'm playing STALKER 2.

Precisely. Of course some people will pirate this game, it happens with all games, but if the game is genuinely good and the Devs aren't total piss heads and slap shit like this in our face for no reason, then there will be a fuck ton more buyers.

No, I'm saying that it's going to go out WHILE you're playing it, not because of it.

I don't mind pirating as long as it doesn't fuck over small companies like GSC, I mean their games only cost about £4 now it's not exactly like they're ripping us off.
