I want to say that most governments try to play for the auidence. Like in the USA where some of the politicans are suggesting the death penality and other things. All of this is just some silly blow in the sails. In the long term though I expect that Julian Assange will face a lot of legal battle ahead of him. It will be a trying road but he will become free and keep up the sails of freedom.
Honestly I think he has done a lot for jonuralism but what I am not so sure of is how these leaks that come from his organization will effect diplomats in the long-term and whether this could cause diplomats to be much more careful in the future. Apart from that I like what he has done.
Criticism, freedom of speech and democracy is the most important we have.
This isn't about pity morals, like the messed up democrats in America puts it.

Sweden's rape laws are extremely bizarre. It is also why it is referred as the 'rape capital of the world' when in reality it's their BS definitions.

I think "rape" is as close as you can get, even when translating the Swedish law. Although according to his lawyer they have not been told the charges yet so they could turn out to be something specific.

This has been mentioned on and off since the start, apparently the "victims" dropped the charges pretty soon after they were filed. They were re-filed by a Swedish politician. Assange's lawyer said on a TV show a couple of days ago that anywhere else in the world it would be classed as an "abuse of process" (or something, I can't remember exactly what the wording was)
Just in, Sweden is challenging the bail conditions.
Not- this is not the appeal, they did not appeal, they have chosen to challenge the conditions of bail.
