Beard trend is 'guided by evolution' - and clean shaven is due a come back

i grew my first shortbeard in grade 5
I know people look at beards in a wrongful way when going into jobs, but quite honestly, I don't think it should matter. My beard is well trimmed, and some parts even shaven.
These scientists are bias. They just can't grow great beards like men can.
funny, i thought this modern beard trend is a direct reflection of the clean-shaven conformist trend of my grandparent's generation
i mean look

BEARD!
Maybe if hipsters would stop growing stupid fucking mountain man beards they'd be more appreciated
Some people look better clean shaven, some people look better with a (maintained) beard. It being a trend issue makes people think they look fashionable with one when they really just look punchable.
I'm hoping this trend continues once I graduate and get a full time job. Shaving irritates my skin too much (and is costly) while trimming my beard is cheap and easy.
I'm growing a chinhair goatee beard thing and fuck anyone who says otherwise
[sp]until it gets too long and awkward, then I'll just shave it and wait for it to come back in[/sp]

You do know you could just trim it, right...
I keep a tasteful stubble so that it looks like I work really hard at the office.

get the best of both worlds

only POSSIBLE downside is that it may or may not cause severe pain when rubbing it up against a lady's face
Ive had a nice gotee since i was in middle school. Im 21 now and i can grow a beard but it takes a long time.
I had birds, all types of small songbirds, literally flying up and trying to pluck my hair out because my mighty beard looked like it would make one hell of a nest. I backhanded two barn swallows mid-air (one right after the other) one day because they wouldn't stop pecking at me when I was trying to concentrate on important shit, which made me a stationary target.
I think you may have been unaware of your surroundings if you were outside. If you had swallows dive bombing you, they likely had a nest nearby. If a breeding pair had eggs/chicks in their nest, both of the parent birds will mob anyone or anything they feel that is a threat within 50-100 yards of their nesting site.
If you backhanded both of them and caused them injury or killed them, they most likely abandoned their nest and chicks to death.
There are other birds that have similar mobing behavior during breeding season, but it can really be any time of the year. If you resembled something that's a natural predator to them, they're going to try whatever they can to make you go away.
It's interesting having so much facial hair at my age. People well into their 20's get jealous.

I don't think the dude with the Megadeth shirt and a knit viking hat is going for the clean groomed look
you guys realize there are different subcultures with different styles right?

he can still fit in without his beard looking like a complete mess

It sounds like the birds were actually plucking his beard hair and not attacking him specifically.
Sidenote I youtubed "bird beard attack" and nothing matched what I was looking for. One day maybe I'll get to see a bird pluck a man's beard... One day...
beards are gross
have you ever rubbed your face up against somebody with a beard or kissed somebody with a beard? they're gross.
me, my gay male friends, and straight women friends all agree that facial hair is fucking gross on 99% of people, so don't go pushing your "look at this pic of ryan gosling" shit on me.
he can still fit in without his beard looking like a complete mess
No one he interacts with likely cares how well groomed his beard is though

Yeah, as a guy with a beard, I've kissed guys with beards. It's nice.
My girlfriend loves beards and loves the feeling of beards.

that's not really something you can tell. people might not react the same way but everyone likes people who take care of their appearance

and everyone has different definitions of what "taking care of their appearance" is.

growing out your beard and doing literally nothing else to make it seem well-kept isn't taking care of your appearance in any possible way

again, that's a subjective call. not an objective one.
again, that's a subjective call. not an objective one.
in what world is trimming your beard not taking care of your appearance?
in one where people liked long and burly beards perhaps? or one where it's required or helpful in survival?
or just because people LIKE it.
Messy is an aesthetic. It could be laziness or it could be deliberate choice. Most counter-cultures would embrace messiness because it goes against what they see as social conformity.

I just keep mine trimmed down to rugged stubble regularly with a trimmer sans the guard. Shaving really just makes me feel baby faced.
