That's a good thing, sky fairies and super babies have jack shit to do with the running of the government, an entirely human endeavour.
Oh yeah, I reckon it's a good thing too. They can have them on private property but public areas are off limits. Don't think Israel has that kind of Church and State separation though so even though they shouldn't be allowed to, it's kinda bad because others can.

Not a clue.
You seem to think any Arabic speaking country is just desert? Palestine/Israel have forests, mountain ranges, etc. And even then, if Qatar - who have a moderately small Christian population - put up Christmas trees (Obviously fake ones) all over Doha (Capital city) and decorate EVERYTHING with Christmas then at least a place with more history and more expected tolerance towards Christians would allow it. It's pretty obvious here the mayor is talking shit just because the Christians are Arabs.
Not to mention that pine trees DO grow in the desert.

It's Israel, the government is pretty much made up of Zionists.
nazareth is a p. badass name
I could imagine a city in lord of the rings being called Nazareth.
They got to it before Australia did.
-snip-
Not. A. Big. Deal.
Really.
The mayor should get overthrown, shit like this is unacceptable
Not really, no. Are you saying it's okay to tell the majority people of an area to surrender their ways to bend over for a few in a minority?
Christmas trees really have nothing to do with Christ, Christians, or anything worth mentioning. This is nothing to complain about.
Jeremiah 10:2-5
Of course, if it was a Muslim mayor saying that they couldn't be putting up Christmas trees, half of the people here would be up in arms. Shows how hypocritical FP can be.
Easy fix to the problem.
They are putting up Hanukkah bushes, not Christmas trees.
i wonder how this will figure into evangelicial's persecution complex
That's actually quite cool, one needs -50 brains or 150 balls to do that kind of stuff. . . .
Is it bad if I saw the thread as "Christmas Trees Banned In..." and I thought of Australia?

They should bend over if it's basic rights being restricted for no good reason. If 10 people wanted you dead, would you bend over and let them kill you because 10 is more than 1?
OP, I can understand your frustration, but misleading thread titles about Christmas trees being "banned" are just lowering the level of discourse on FP and making everyone stupider. Please don't do it.

Just quoting the article buddy, sorry if it was misleading.
Shimon Gafso was arrested in suspicious of bribery today. lolz.
Because they're religious Jews. Uber-Christians in the US wouldn't put a Menorah in their town so Jews wouldn't do that either. I think the US is even worse on these issues because they don't allow any religious things on Government or Public ground at all.
That's at least fair.
Oh wait.. that's where I live in.
Oh hai.
This Shimon Gafso guy is retarded.
Well, Look who is back
Are you saying it's okay to tell the majority people of an area to surrender their ways to bend over for a few in a minority?
Pretty sure that happens in western europe all the time...
Arabs celebrate Christmas?
Christmass isn't a official christian celebration, it was a early european celebration to "celebrate the return of the light" (longer sunny days).
If you're joking, then hahahahaha.
If you're not, I live here and there's a lot of desert around the Persian Gulf region (Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar, Oman) but outside of that there's a whole lot of green (Palestine/Israel, Lebanon, Tunisia, etc.)
Actually there are some tropical areas in Saudi and Oman, especially Oman.
Let them do what they want.Should be the least of our concerns. We should be looking at the major things they are doing.
why must we humans be the way we are
people don't like difference, they don't like change. acceptance and tolerance goes against human nature and sometimes our primal instincts override our higher thought. it's all just what makes us who we are, and really, it'd be retarded to change that
