• TSA Begins Rolling Out Less-Invasive "Gingerbread Man" Body Scanners to U.S. Airports

It's fucking stupid that they have to go this far with it. People need to stop bitching and realize that the alternative is getting blown up mid-air.
;31792863']Now which one is that?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_transatlantic_aircraft_plot
If your average white caucasian has problems with TSA imagine what kind of fantastic hoops middle-easterners (and other people who happen to be brown and sport beards) have to go through. The TSA is a massive failure on so many levels. [editline]17th August 2011[/editline] Actually I know people who have to go to the airport four hours in advance in anticipation for TSA's horseshit.
It's fucking stupid that they have to go this far with it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_transatlantic_aircraft_plot

at least 10 airliners travelling from the United Kingdom to the United States and Canada.
This is not a matter for the TSA. Infact, this is what caused the TSA to increase security to the point of shoe removal. This was discovered by British police, not US intelligence, British intelligence, or the TSA. I don't see how this case has any relevance to the TSA.
I'm not defending the TSA, I'm just saying that you need some security and scanning.
Some security, yes, but a basic metal detector, guards, and pat-down if needed is plenty enough. I'm attacking the specific ignorance of the fourth amendment and over the top security by the TSA that has lead to a destruction of basic privacy rights when going by air travel.
Chances are I'll be seen naked by more TSA employees than women, so I really don't give a shit.
The fact that people are so fucking afraid of a one in a million hijack attempt means the terrorists already won, simple as that. It's like the internet. If you get mad/rage, you auto-lose. That and if people are scared of "THE TERRURISTS" using a plane to fly into the Pentagon or something we can always scramble F-22s to shoot the fuck out of a plane if it's really going to do that.
They'll never be able to catch anyone with these scanners! :v:

[editline]17th August 2011[/editline] Actually I know people who have to go to the airport four hours in advance in anticipation for TSA's horseshit.
When my black brother in law came up for christmas two years ago he was the only one who had to go through TSA bullshit. Despite having a wife and two kids.
I don't give a damn if somebody wants to see my cock and balls. I'll spread eagle for them. But the fact of the matter is that the TSA is a government agency blatantly shitting on the 4th Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. If the airliner companies want to set up their own scanners, that's their problem. We shouldn't have to pay taxes to support these constitution-shitter-on-ers.
Does it violate the 4th amendment if the search isn't totally compulsory? I mean just playing devil's advocate here, riding on an airplane isn't a right, nor is it strictly necessary for survival. They can't force you to go through the screening, you can walk away if you want to. The only catch is that you can't get on the plane. I really don't mean to seem like I'm supporting such measures, I just want to throw that out there.
As a frequent traveler I don't care if a TSA employee sees my nads, as long as some asshole with a bomb doesn't get on the plane with me.
Yeah fuck my rights I want a false sense of security!!! [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
They can't force you to go through the screening, you can walk away if you want to.
Once you're there if you walk away you will almost certainly be arrested.
First time going through, some lady at the xray station was like "I HAVE A FEELING ABOUT THIS ONE", takes my passport and my mum's passport aside and point me towards that fucking body scanner. Such pricks. I think they were afraid of the camera lenses in my bag.
-Wrong thread-
People love to complain about the TSA. One minute they're too lax and the next minute they're too strict.
People love to complain about the TSA. One minute they're too lax and the next minute they're too strict.
I have never said they are too lax. They are most definitely too strict.
dude, who used the gonad viewer 2000 anyway? Its 100% optional, standard is the xray. You have to request the full body scan.
Why are people so insecure about this shit. As a frequent traveler I don't care if a TSA employee sees my nads, as long as some asshole with a bomb doesn't get on the plane with me.
Agreed, but what about the radiation factor that keeps changing every bbc article :tinfoil:
dude, who used the gonad viewer 2000 anyway? Its 100% optional, standard is the xray. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
They can't force you to go through the screening, you can walk away if you want to.
You can walk away, Just not in the direction of your plane. If they want you to go through you have to go through.
Sorry but I don't want my girlfriend being eye'd potentially by some sex-depraved pervert getting off while getting paid to do it.
Oh TSA, if you wanted to see me naked you could have asked.

Once you get in line for security, leaving it is apparently considered illegal. [editline]18th August 2011[/editline]
Oh TSA, if you wanted to see me naked you could have asked.
And bought me dinner. Because the plane isn't giving me one. Because I have to pay TSA salaries through my ticket and airlines no longer have the necessary overhead to feed me. ....this seems kind of circular.
though the Baltimore-Washington and Tampa airports seem a lock
The only two airports I use
No, you really can't walk away. They can, and will, arrest you. Once you get in line for security, leaving it is apparently considered illegal.
In that case, nevermind.
People seem to have forgotten concert search [editline]18th August 2011[/editline] I was going from KMSP-KIAD with a group of friends. They picked out all the women for the random scan.
Sorry but I don't want my girlfriend being eye'd potentially by some sex-depraved pervert getting off while getting paid to do it.
Both an awful characterization of TSA agents and a completely ridiculous reason to oppose this. I would've said it violates the 4th amendment and that TSA agents probably shouldn't be eyeballing anyone. Might be a joke though, and my sarcasm meter isn't working today.
No, you really can't walk away. They can, and will, arrest you. Once you get in line for security, leaving it is apparently considered illegal.
I'm sorry, I meant walk away in a more metaphorical sense. I understand what would happen if you decided to get out of the screening line. What my question is is, if flying on an airplane isn't considered a basic right, is the search absolutely compulsory? I mean to search your house without your permission, a warrant is required and you have absolutely no say in the matter if they do manage to acquire a warrant. Does it break the 4th amendment if you submit to the search in exchange for a service?
