Are there any live streams covering this yet?
Head of Militsry: "The Turkish Armed forces have, in order to ensure the order of law, the constitution, and the well being of the Turkish people, have taken over the control of the government. All of our diplomatic relations and agreements will continue as they are."

Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. Erdogan is a giant asshole and I want to see him gone, but a military coup is risky as fuck.
What does this mean for Turkey though?
This is like the beginning of a movie.

History is in the making right here
Source?
Friend in Turkey translated from the TV
Anybody here has any idea if NATO has to do anything about it?
Anybody here has any idea if NATO has to do anything about it?
I doubt it but I haven't seen a single mention of NATO involvement
Imagine if this a coup to start openly supporting IS rather than the underhanded support they've given. :v:
TV said something about the military group responsible for the coupe are being lead by Feytullah Gülen, or did I hear it wrong?
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.
There is no offical word about it, though I doubt it. Also, I don't think the military coup would be good, if it went sucessful, I mean, the military took power in Turkey once.
Can't seem to f5 fast enough.
Imagine if this a coup to start openly supporting IS rather than the underhanded support they've given. :v:
I'd really doubt that. The military is required by the Turkish constitution to overthrow the government if they stray too far from secularism.
"The Turks are ready to enter into the European Union, just you wait, guys!"
My friend in Turkey is saying that every single police in Turkey have been called in for duty.
Can someone give me super quick rundown of what's happening, why is it happening, who are the sides and if 2016 will stop trying to set the upside down as the new standard?
Hopefully the military has good intentions, i'm just worried for the folks that get caught between the crossfire.
Imagine if this a coup to start openly supporting IS rather than the underhanded support they've given. :v:
I'm wondering if this coup wasn't done because of Erdogan's support of IS.
