The CNNUSA stream (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eTWrGNka-ik) I found off /pol/ so expect "BUILD WALL" every 5 seconds
fucking stupid of them to refuse them a refund, not their fault that a coup started
Shit's crazy right now, chances are refunds will be offered once everything is resolved. It took a few days after the Ataturk airport bombing before Turkish Airlines began to offer re-compensation.
I don't understand why the USA official statement must be against the coup. Isn't the entire point of the 2nd amendment to ensure that coups CAN occur when needed? The US government should've held off picking a side in my opinion until a choice can be made that best suits international interests (i.e, a side "wins").
according to my Turkish friend he's blaming Gulen
TVs alright, internet is alright, the news are not.
Erdogan is doing a live speech now in TRT, a local govt station. Sorry, got no links.
CNN isn't broadcasting it? Are they pissed that they've shut down an affiliate station?

Geopolitics 101: always uphold the status quo and god forbid you go against it
150 wounded in an Istanbul hospital.
That was sourced anonymously on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mq5hrUDoYo
Right now it looks like the coup is going to probably fail
seems like they took one tv provider. others are appearently fine. dont think it will get better
Reuters: Some Coup soldiers have surrendered, erdogan saying he's going to "clean up" the army. Stalin Much?

Its' in the best interest of the west that Turkey doesn't turn into a wild card through a coup. It could provide the western world with a very bad geopolitical crisis.
Besides every other state in Europe have also condemned the coup.
Erdogan claiming this is reason to "clean up the military".. That sounds pretty bad.
4 hours into a crisis involving Turkey and CNN USA couldn't find a Turkish guy to translate? :\
Clearly you haven't been reading the entire thread
I did. Am I supposed to care? The U.S. could tell the Turkish government to look in a mirror and go fuck themselves straight to hell if they so chose.

Soviet Turkey, let's go!
Yuck, but stability is important.
"This will be a reason to clean up the army"
Prepare to go into full erdogan mode very soon.
Reuters: Some Coup soldiers have surrendered, erdogan saying he's going to "clean up" the army. Stalin Much?
Yeah right he's gonna send them to one of the many Turkish gulags
so obama is also a shit because he said basically the same thing?
no western political leader in their right mind is going to support a military coup on an ally, regardless of what their relations with that ally is
He's not spectacular but Clinton is a different cunt all together.
I did. Am I supposed to care? The U.S. could tell the Turkish government to look in a mirror and go fuck themselves straight to hell if they so chose.
And risk supporting a a coup that structures a new government that could stand for even worse? Slippery slope, my friend. Damned no matter what any politician says.
Supposedly most of the helicopter force of the Turkish military are loyalists and the aeroplane force is pro-coup, but that's an unconfirmed report.
helicopters are usually the domain of the army whereas jets the domain of the airforce so that could explain the discrepancy
jfc they allegedly captured a tank:

That looks like an excavator.
I did. Am I supposed to care? The U.S. could tell the Turkish government to look in a mirror and go fuck themselves straight to hell if they so chose.
That would just be stupid.
Yeah right he's gonna send them to one of the many Turkish gulags
Yeah, the Turkish Gulags, you don't know about the Turkish gulags? Very famous prisons. /s
Coups are always slippery slopes, what guarantee do you have that that they'll restore power the way it should be
"Peace Council" just sounded like a military junta
That looks like an excavator.
sorry it's a live video, they were next to to a tank earlier
Erdogan: Some members of the army taking orders from Penslyvania.
because if this coup goes through shit is going to be much worse before any chance of it getting better, whereas if the coup fails it will be slightly less worse before going back to status quo, which is more beneficial for the international community as well as the long-term stability of the region
If this coup fails though, things will be getting a lot worse for the Turkish people because it will legitimize Erdogan and allow him and his supporters to basically fuck the country however they want.
