Read the rest of the thread, there's been a military coup in turkey, and it's been kinda insane, really.
I've been hiking all day, wtf is goong on? Cant find clear info on my phone
Turkey is on fire.
So is Erdogan going to change Turkey after this is over?
his whole press confrence was "Night of the Long Knives 2: Bloody Bogaloo", so yeah i'd say it's safe to say he's going to change stuff.
All aboard the fascist islamic state that wants to join the EU. Next stop, god only knows
Stop trying to force your shitty agenda into things. This isn't about anything related to sex or gender, and even if that guy isn't joking, it's still irrelevant to the actual goings-on of the coup.
I'm not the one forcing anything, bud. Re-read my post.
so,. um what';s the new's now,../?
I've been hiking all day, wtf is goong on? Cant find clear info on my phone
Faction of army rebelled against Erdogan, currently not looking too bright for pro-coup.

Secular Military staged a coup against Islamic Dictator, seems to be failing, expect more authoritarian Turkey as a result.
Said dictator (Erdogan) has had thousands arrested for criticizing him, has oppressed people and media, has funded ISIS, and bombed Kurds.
If the army truly holds the capital isn't Erdogan finished?
The government is made of people, not buildings or locations.
If the army doesn't have control over the people of government, they haven't won yet.
To the people asking what Erdogan is going to do after this is over, I'm not sure the military is exactly out of the fight yet. Let's wait and see. :v:
Hopefully they manage to kill him somehow. If not, and I realistically don't think they'll be able to, then I hope they don't give up and hold out to the end; drag as many of those bastards down with them as they can.
This whole thing is a shitfest now.
Hopefully they manage to kill him somehow
It'd be better if he was tried in court (a real one) for things he did rather than just killing him
It'd be better if he was tried in court (a real one) for things he did rather than just killing him
Killing him would be just as, if not more effective.

I assume they are government forces.

Soldiers take control of Istanbul airport
The Reuters news agency has reported that soldiers took control of Istanbul's main Ataturk airport on Saturday shortly after President Tayyip Erdogan landed there.
A military tank was positioned outside the airport earlier, when incoming flights were diverted.
The state-run Anadolu news agency said operations at the airport were back to normal and that flights would begin again at 06:00 (03:00 GMT).
Effective in causing a massive shitstorm maybe.
Killing him would be just as, if not more effective.
It really wouldn't
the murder of a dictator very rarely ends well for anyone particularly when they're an islamist president/potential current/future dictator
CNN keeps saying the coup failed, but I don't see how you can say that with absolute certainty if the attempt is still in the process of trying to secure power.
Some dude made a TS and a Turkish guy speaks: MEMERS.CLUB

Some factions in the Turkish military have staged a coup in Ankara (national capital) and Istanbul, reports are conflicting but it seems the coup is waning in Istanbul but continuing in Ankara.
Erdogan was airborne for most of the coup but has since landed at Istanbul - Ataturk Airport after failed requests for asylum to Germany and the UK, I'm not entirely sure what his status is right now but it doesn't seem like he's in any immediate danger from coupists in the area.

Do you WANT to reenact the ending to Killzone 2? Yeah its a video game, but this sort of action will have dire consequences in the future.
I mean this guy should be properly tried in court at least.

Erdogan is supported by the people. Doing anything to him, whether killing or jailing him, will have dire consequences.

Does that mean they have Erdogan in custody
Erdogan is supported by the people. Doing anything to him, whether killing or jailing him, will have dire consequences.
He's not supported by all of the people, but he seems to have a lot of fanatical supporters.
This coup sounds far from over to me.
He's not supported by all of the people.
No, but the majority.

That is a massive hyperbole. Never in my life I felt restricted by Erdoğan goverment. bridge is still closed. gunshots can be heard in the distant still.
for anyone curious: watching a stream of a guy on the bridge with a bunch of other people.
