A Texas politician has filed legislation that would see men fined $100 (£82) for masturbating unless they are doing it in a sanctioned session at a hospital or clinic.
Jessica Farrar, a Democrat, created the "Man's Right To Know Act" to highlight how women have been affected by targeted healthcare legislation in her state, particularly relating to abortion.
She said its rules — including a mandatory waiting period before a vasectomy procedure or receiving a prescription for Viagra, as well as a "medically-unnecessary digital rectal exam" — mirror "real TX laws and health care restrictions faced by TX women every #txlege session".
The headline stipulation would categorise ejaculation outside either a vagina or medical facility as an "act against an unborn child, and failing to preserve the sanctity of life".
Errr, what?
It's a satirical law to make a point, I'm pretty sure.
Read your own article.
imagine a world where you have to line up at the clinic or hospital to diddle yourself
Now I know that this is a satirical law so I'm not addressing this person specifically, but why do so many people act like the possession of a sex drive, the basis on which the human race reproduces, is some icky unnatural thing that you should try to pretend doesn't exist as much as possible? It's the most natural thing in the goddamn world after eating and breathing.
Woah this must be how women feel when people try to enforce dumb laws on what they can do with their bodies.
Only it's just a joke so nobody actually has to deal with how horrible it is this time around!.
Read your own article.
Just because the other side makes stupid laws doesn't mean you have to propose stupid laws, too. Don't go down to their level, be above that.
Whatever happend to having the moral high ground?
It's a satirical law meant to prove a point that shows how ridiculous it is for women to have to jump through so many hoops just to try to be in control over their own bodies. Make sure to ridicule anyone who takes this seriously or misses the point
Her aim is clear. The bill is a satirical attack on the way male politicians interfere in women’s bodies and seeks to apply the same health restrictions, attitudes and bigotry to men.
Read the article guys.
This is pretty much about anti-abortion bills and shit, if abortion is considered "an act against an unborn life" or whatever dumb bullshit, then so should male masturbation, it's to show how dumb these anti-abortion bills can be with just some role-reversal.

Took the time to find three articles, but you couldn't find the time to read any of them.

The point is that there's no way in hell this would pass when it effects men, And yet many similarly ridiculous laws would and have passed when they effect women in the same way.
It's a clever idea to raise awareness :v:
People get clickbaited by the title, outraged at how stupid and arbitrary the proposed laws are, then (hopefully) realise what the point is
That's a pretty interesting way of trying to make a point but I highly doubt people will care and some will even ignore this as a satirical thing and push it as some "feminazi" stuff

This IS the moral high ground?
Satire is an incredibly powerful tool to look at things more objectively. In this case, asking "what if we didn't have this double standard?"
i wonder how it would work if it was a real law
It's like when those satanists started whacking up statues of Satan. The point was that when people got up in arms about them putting up religious statues they disagree with, they would possibly reflect on all the christian monuments knocking about that they personally support but everyone else is just expected to put up with.
It's not sinking to their level, it's trying to get someone to see things from your perspective.
Human life begins before ejaculation
Trillions dead every second

I'm pro choice, but comparing making non-sanctioned masturbation illegal to making termination of pregnancy illegal/restricted seems like a false equivalence to me.
While I get it what about just don't get bonked up? Women can masturbate just like men can so you are not really forced to have intercourse to please your sexual needs.
Human life begins before ejaculation
Trillions dead every second
Each ejaculation is not only equivalent to 37mb, but also approximately 1.6 megahitlers
I just don't see how masturbation can be seen as equal to abortion.

Because it's the United States. Doing anything related to sex outside of married couples in the missionary position is punishable by death.
This statement also applies to pornography in the U.K. :v:

It kind of backfires when most people just see the headline. I was told about this at work today and no one actually read the article.
It does say "don't jerk off" in the bible so theologically it's sound.

then it went over your head
obviously a basic and frequent male need isn't quite on the level on fertilizing an egg, but the fact is that laws are passed that allow the federal government to have control over women's bodies, while excluding men from the rule
Fine womens 100$ each month because of periods

Religion. whether it be the "big three" or the fucked up ideas of FGM in africa or the belief that menstrating women are unclean in asia its all some kind of supersticious belief legitimized by religion
If something like this were to pass in any way, edging would be all the rave.
It's a great way to raise awareness about how our reproductive systems shouldn't be governed by Government or Religion, for both male and female.

Well then you should do something against the law itself instead of making up another shitty law.
Look, I am all against Pro-Life laws where the woman gets no say over her body. If she decides to not have a baby, give her the choice to end it. Better have no kids than get a kid which is unloved. Could you imagine what the child might think if it finds out mommy didn't want it?
But this is the wrong way to "raise awareness". What does raising awareness even do in this case? Don't the people already know about these horrific laws? Is there anyone still living under rock? Even I living in Germany know about the situation of abortion in the USA.
