Female politician proposes law to fine men $100 for masturbating as 'act against an unborn child'

Doesn't Texas have a law requiring women to report miscarriages or potential miscarriages to the police? I'm pretty sure that is what this is satirizing, because a really early miscarriage is almost indistinguishable from a normal period.
Edit:
I was wrong, it requires them to bury or cremate all fetal tissue from abortion or miscarriage, regardless of how early term: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2016/11/29/despite-months-of-outcry-texas-will-require-aborted-fetustes-to-be-cremated-or-buried/?utm_term=.f152b33fd7a5
Holy balls guys, she doesn't expect it to pass nor does she want it to, this isn't some eye for an eye or fight fire with fire situation. She is trying to raise awareness and draw an analog to how preposterous legislation over a woman's body is.
Are you guys trolling or being legitimately stupid?
tbh the fact that a miscarriage is considered "Murder" to some men is fucking amazing
Well then you should do something against the law itself instead of making up another shitty law.
Look, I am all against Pro-Life laws where the woman gets no say over her body. If she decides to not have a baby, give her the choice to end it. Better have no kids than get a kid which is unloved. Could you imagine what the child might think if it finds out mommy didn't want it?
But this is the wrong way to "raise awareness". What does raising awareness even do in this case? Don't the people already know about these horrific laws? Is there anyone still living under rock? Even I living in Germany know about the situation of abortion in the USA.
This is doing something against that law by mocking it, even the woman who proposed this one doesn't want it to pass. Just because you know it is hard to get an abortion in the US doesn't mean that the majority party isn't trying to make it even worse. Very few people care and this is meant to make people notice.
It does say "don't jerk off" in the bible so theologically it's sound.
It does say that you shouldn't waste your seed though.
Now Watch as her colleagues pass it cause they too couldn't be bothered to read it.
Honestly I wouldn't put it past 'em
I just don't see how masturbation can be seen as equal to abortion.
Because every sperm is a potential child, so masturbating is essentially like blasting a bunch of babies out into the open and letting them die from exposure.
You know, just like how removing a few dividing cells from somebody's uterus is exactly the same as stabbing a baby in the chest with a fucking carving knife.
Right?
Wow thanks for adding this post the first 6 times people said it I didn't realize but this post right here really changed my understanding.
Yet people continue to post after all of that, still taking it seriously or thinking this is some hyper feminist bill that she wants to pass as vengeance against men. I'm glad you got it though!
It's a satirical law to make a point, I'm pretty sure.
They can only submit a certain amount of bills per year or period right? Seems like an insanely petty notion to waste a bill on.

I would argue that calling out the bullshit that women have to deal with is a pretty decent cause. Especially when you compare it to some of the legitimately stupid bills submitted on a regular basis.

I couldn't find anything like that on the Texas house of representatives website, so I think it is only their time that she is wasting.

Or she could make a bill to get rid of some of the bullshit that women have to deal with, instead of creating a bill to rile up sensationalism and wasting a bill.
While I get it what about just don't get bonked up? Women can masturbate just like men can so you are not really forced to have intercourse to please your sexual needs.
Any type of contraception can fail.

Uh yeah they try that all the time and it doesn't work because a bunch of conservative, ignorant, men make these decisions, so she is trying something else. Holy shit this thread is cancer, she is trying to raise awareness for exactly what you're proposing. She wouldn't be wasting her time with this if she didn't have a good reason to try it.
And just look at all this delightful dialogue it is creating, it must be working.

That sounds like a beautiful plan until you realize that she's a Democrat in one of the biggest Republican strongholds in the nation.
Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but the GOP hasn't had the greatest track record in pushing for women's rights lately.

It's state specific, and it doesn't look like Texas has a limit.

"raising awareness" for an already blatant issue....
I don't know what "delightful dialogue" you're talking about since everyone here is in favor of abortion rights, including myself. I'm just of the opinion that this method is silly.
Hrm, wonder how this accounts for wet dreams?

Democrats are on the rise in Texas, large cities like Austin becoming havens for younger people is helping with that. I don't recall the number from the most recent election, but the 08 election was nearly 50/50 in Texas, but in Republican favor.

It isn't a blatant issue to the conservative men in Texas who run the senate, they think women's rights are bull shit. Here, a recent example. By proposing this preposterous bill, receiving backlash and watching all the republicans lash out and call it ridiculous, she can then call them out on their hypocrisy and create a legitimate dialogue.
The delightful dialogue comment was entirely sarcastic, but I'm not surprised that too went over your head.

Accidental Genocide.

Involuntary manslaughter.

So don't jerk it if you're not going to enjoy it, gotcha.

Except, Austin has always been mostly Democratic, same with cities like El Paso and Houston. The problem is the suburban/rural areas of Texas, which are overwhelmingly Republican.
Here is the past presidential elections in Texas. Yes, the number of Democrats are rising, but it's still going to be some time before they overtake conservatives. Why is it so bad that she's making a bill to display how stupid this anti-abortion and anti-contraception rhetoric that Republicans are pushing?
Hey cool a feel good law that will be impossible to enforce. I'm glad our representatives are tackling the important issues.

My bad, the election has broken my ability to detect when people are being ironic.
Someone is trying to find a male counterpart for the abortion? How twisted.
The next step, being charged for genocide just because you masturbated, and then the same person compares you with Hitler because why not, she said my genitals are a tool of mass murdering.
All silly laws aside, a little male anatomy lesson to all those kind of women: sperm isn't immortal. Once mature, they start weakening after a couple of days without use.
A man can set by himself some sort of abstinence, but that unique pain from the fluid pressure after weeks without ejaculation is not very nice. Not nice at all.

I got it well, Pascall. That politician said she doesn't expect to be approved, she wants to push it as far as she can.
I Just wanted to add some non-traditional thinking for a satirical idea.
