But you don't, every time it goes below like 5c it's a national crisis and even the hospitals close down. There is like, a 15 degree temperature range between 10 and 25 that works, anything else and it's a national emergency
It's never a national crisis though, the news blows everything up and makes everyone think it's the end of the world, but almost everyone just deals with it.
Either it's too cold or too hot, there's no in between.
I don't mean to belittle Britain or anything, but a heatwave here is 98+ F (37+ C). And this is Connecticut, a relatively cold and humid place. EDIT: I appreciate the dumbs, but I said I'm not trying to belittle anyone. Just pointing out how different things can be from one place to the next.
You should look at it as a percentage increase, it all makes a lot more sense that way.
probably going to be less humid than Singapore though, humidity makes a hell of a difference
dry heat is great humid heat is like living hell
Could we get it to be that low here in Alabama? summer high last year was about 108 F with 30% humidity :(
note; Every time there's a thread about heatwaves in the UK, everyone seems to think that 28c (82f) isn't that hot, but when you live somewhere where it's cold all the time, temperatures like 30c is very hot for the people enduring it. So lets maybe not start a debate about temperature adaptation or how 30c isn't that bad, pretty please? http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/uk-weather-britain-sizzle-three-month-5504384
Britain doesn't really get that cold though. It's a mild climate...the media likes to make a big deal over weather related events over there from what I've seen.

It's a mild climate...the media likes to make a big deal over weather related events over there from what I've seen.
That is literally all it is. Every normal person just gets on with their lives while papers like the Mirror and the Sun flip shit about how we are all going to freeze, burn or drown.
Heat is fine, as long as its not humid. It can be 110F for all I care, as long as ots low humidity. Even 70F at 100% humidity is fucking unbearable.
