Alright, Mittens. Care to put your money where your mouth is and throw your support behind bills that give gays the same rights as the rest of the US? You do that, and maybe then I'll believe you.
That's Romney's style. Be as ambiguous as possible so everyone thinks they agree with you.
I thought that was politicians in general...
Why do you people focus on gay rights when it comes to a president? Why not just vote for them to help make the economy better?
Why do you people focus on gay rights when it comes to a president? Why not just vote for them to help make the economy better?
Because Americans hold civil liberties more important than their financial well-being. Such issues should not even be in debate, they violate the constitution, but sadly, they are.
Civil Liberties are always more important than anything else.
Hiller pressed him on what he'd do if his son was gay, and Santorum delivered an emotional response: “I would love him as much as I did the second before he said it.”
Haha, sneaky answer since for all we know he doesn't love his son now.
I don't get the big hoopla over Ron Paul. I respect the fact that he goes against the grain, that he really holds his own perspective and he holds that perspective near and dear to himself. Both his perspective and his political demeanor go against the grain. But I do think his libertarian ideas are off the wall. Giving states more power leads to a less unified United States.
States' rights is a core concept of the United States. No one wanted consolidated central power, all the power is supposed to be with the people and states. However, the southerners, by tying states' rights to slavery, ruined that forever. Now everyone expects the Feds to be the final authority. Oh well.
oh really now?
uhhh so despite showing that he obviously is anti-gay politically, we're supposed to feel warm and fuzzy because, barring his politics and personal beliefs, he says he'll stand up for gays? sure thing
Ron paul? You may disagree with him, but he is the most trustworthy canidate and you know he isnt just going to change his mind. He doesnt take bribes.
But he does lie about racist newsletters.
But he does lie about racist newsletters.
And he believes that marriage can only be between a man and a woman, and I don't see why he'd support the Defense of Marriage act if he thought that people should really be able to choose, as his "I let everyone make a decision!!!!1!" ideals would imply.
