[QUOTE=Electrocuter;44482186]Nothing about looping it, maybe because I'm using Firefox? [img]http://i.minus.com/ibuGPiiYGLISwA.png[/img][/QUOTE] I can loop it on Chrome, so it must be Firefox.
heh, firefox's speed options include 'Ludicrous Speed (2x)'
[QUOTE=nikomo;44482018]First conversion with ffmpeg, worked out great. [vid]http://img.nikomo.fi/deal_with_it_audio.webm[/vid][/QUOTE] go beat crazy
[QUOTE=Zet;44481790]WebM is a good stand-in until WebP supports animation.[/QUOTE] Can I just point out how hilarious that is, Google took a video format, made it into a (meh) still frame format, and now wants to to add motion support to the format. Honestly JPEG-XR is a much better image format, but even with IE supporting it, MS doesn't seem to be.
[QUOTE=lavacano;44481139]and half the time it just gives you the flash player anyway so it can show ads[/QUOTE] Use youtube center. You can set it to force using the HTML5 player. I haven't had flash enabled for ages now and I watch youtube videos daily.
There was a Battlefield (3/4?) webm floating around on a lot of boards when this was announced that I remember was 29 seconds long, over 48 fps, good resolution and under 3 mb. I have not been able to find it again though. WebM should be the new standard, GIF is just too old.

[VID]http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/29209413/1396797079340.webm[/VID] [editline]a[/editline] nvm, i'm dumb and didnt notice you said the exact time.
[QUOTE=CAS303;44479749][vid]http://the303.org/webm/dangitbobbeh.webm[/vid] [i]What a time to be alive![/i][/QUOTE] I didn't even know my monitor could display that many frames.
Test test [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/120697414/output.webm[/vid] [editline]e[/editline] Holy shit, this is the best thing ever Converting videos to .gifs was such a pain in the ass, but I just turned that 1920x1080 >227 MB video into a short 20 second snippet that's [I]2MB. [/I]The future is here and I like it.
[QUOTE=Killuah;44481708]The Wiki says h264 has higher quality with smaller files so I guess this is all about free patents and open source. Good move.[/QUOTE] Not all browsers support h.264.
[QUOTE=Kannata;44478689]This is cool but [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/v6VuJsN.png[/IMG]can this be removed?[/QUOTE] Yeah use the 4chanX extension.
used [url=https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Dota_2_Scaleform_to_WebM]this[/url] to do [url=http://cronosdage.x10.mx/test.php]this[/url] awhile back
[QUOTE=dai;44480444]I just realized something no more fucking snobs arguing over peanut butter[/QUOTE] Pretty obvious it's pronounced "Web'm". "Web-em" is for casuals.
[QUOTE=Zambies!;44481595]Webm doesn't work on my phone[/QUOTE] iOS uses Safari, and last I was aware Safari took the h264 side along with IE.
Oh lord, I hope this doesn't phase out .GIF files. They've been around since the Internet's baby days and I'd hate to seem them go. Besides, why post a video that I have to repeatedly play over and over again when I can just post a picture that loops automatically? [IMG]http://www.azssar.org/images/usflag.gif[/IMG]

[QUOTE=lavacano;44482792]It loops fine on 4chan, it just doesn't loop on FP because Garry also allows sound.[/QUOTE] It'd be cool if garry added a new bbcode tag that let webM's autoplay and loop but only if they didn't have audio.
Wait does WebM support alpha channel? Since that's the only thing I see GIF being better in.
[QUOTE=Sivics;44482890]Wait does WebM support alpha channel? Since that's the only thing I see GIF being better in.[/QUOTE] Still deciding on HOW to implement it is seems. [url]http://wiki.webmproject.org/alpha-channel[/url]
[QUOTE=FunnyStarRunner;44482782]Oh lord, I hope this doesn't phase out .GIF files.[/QUOTE] It won't [I]fully[/I], but another filetype eventually will. In the beginning, GIF was made for animation, like your flag. Now, we use GIF to show two things: animation and clips of video. GIF isn't meant for the latter, and while we're at it, the former's filesize can be improved. We're splitting off into two directions, each one a proper replacement for GIF: WebP and WebM. WebM is for video, and should used to replace [URL="http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/gif-set"]crappy discolored tumblr gif sets[/URL]. WebP is for animation, and MIGHT be used to replace your website's [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Throbber"]spinning loading image[/URL], if enough [URL="http://caniuse.com/webp"]support [/URL]is made. APNG is a different story and is having [URL="http://caniuse.com/apng"]less luck[/URL] than WebP despite being out for much longer.
well, this shit doesn't work on my phone. fucks sake. i keep getting my asshole reamed because i use a windows phone instead of le epik aderoid! xd

Firefox uses the OS's native decoding support if available. All videos play fine on Firefox on Windows.
[QUOTE=deadoon;44483043]Still deciding on HOW to implement it is seems. [url]http://wiki.webmproject.org/alpha-channel[/url][/QUOTE] I can't really explain why, but the idea of a transparent video blows my mind.
[QUOTE=ultradude25;44483316]That depends on your OS. Firefox uses the OS's native decoding support if available. 4chan has 1080p videos at 60fps Youtube doesnt GG youtube
[QUOTE=Fuck_The_Pooch;44480432]Wow that little fucking brat.[/QUOTE] iirc the person taking the video was telling him to hit the cat. [editline]7th April 2014[/editline] i see him less like a brat and more like another victim in the video
[vid]http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15133164/20140405_141952.webmsd.webm[/vid] From last weekend's air show. It's a flyby of a P-51, P-38, and F-22. Webm is pretty nice. Apparently this doesn't work on Firefox? I have no idea why.
