Edit: WebP is stupid, "Animated WebP" even more so.
Not really, maybe if WebM decided to add lossless and transparency support yeah, but until then it's APNG or WebP. Also, WebP is an actual image format, that would not need too much retrofitting in backend systems to get it working, the only thing it needs is browser support.
The only benefit WebP has over JPEG is an alpha channel (Which honestly isn't that important, otherwise we'd all be using JNG these days), otherwise it's inferior for most things (Limited bit depth, lower quality, etc.), add animation support and you just have WebM again. Of course, the other option is to support video formats within <img> tags, that's easily done in browsers (Firefox already treats still images the same as a video frame, does GPU scaling, etc.) and it gives you H.264 support as well.
I just had a mindblast about a creative webm video site. WebManiac
Garry, make them start muted but loop and play kinda like those ones you hovered over and then they made noise.
WebmTube when
YouTube already does that (they actually even have VP9 support rolling out. which I find very weird because that's been an extremely silent endeavour that has not been publicized at all. current webm is VP8)
[VID]http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/4unxw4r4nsilbsq/facepunch-is-gay.webm[/VID] 2.92MB
So smooth. So this is what it feels like to play on a decent computer.
So smooth. So this is what it feels like to play on a decent computer.
Except it's not, cus motion blur usually isn't an ingame option
Guys help, how do I make my videos not look like shit [vid]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/13796438/Battlefield%204%2001.06.2014%20-%2014.26.01.14.DVR.webm[/vid] This looks worse than most of the stuff in this thread and is also 6MB I'm using these settings
um it doesnt look like shit. lower the bitrate if you want it smaller.
Because screamers, because /b/ ruins the fun for everybody. I think one board still has access to sound, I hope Moot will just restrict some boards or something. Wave of the future right here, since APNG refuses to catch on.
That's because APNG is retarded for the internet. It's just too large to be practical.
this made me realize i've never really seen alot of games with the highest graphics settings running at more than 30FPS, YouTube made me get used to it and all these videos with 60fps look so amazing.
How do i edit start time end time on XMedia Recode? Also would like to have a link for webm for dummies program [editline]8th April 2014[/editline] Nvm found it
because it does.
no, probably not. that WebM file is probably processed with motion interpolation and blur.
So smooth. So this is what it feels like to play on a decent computer.
If Battlefield 3 had perfect per-pixel motion blur, sure :p But I'm, like, 95% sure that this is high framerate footage where reelsmart motion blur was applied afterwards. It just works extremely well since the source was way over 30fps. + videos always seem smoother than playing to us. Not really sure what the psychological effect is. A 60fps video of a game (no post processing or anything) often seems way smoother than actually playing that game. If you wanna experience true godlike smoothless for a game try it out on a 120hz screen. That right there is just bloody amazing
Wow this is pretty cool. Can someone help me out on how i can make them and put them here ? I have no idea how you guys do it :(

There is also a really simple webm converter literally called webm for retards. :v:
There is also a really simple webm converter literally called webm for retards. :v:
I use that. Works really well. Made my first test webm with it [vid]http://a.pomf.se/zgxnna.webm[/vid] 2.86mb
I bet the Saints Row 3 intro would look really good in WebM :v:
And now we wait for someone to upload entire movies in webm format like that Terminator 2 GIF. :v:
-snip im dumb-
I saw this posted in a webm thread on /v/ yesterday [vid]http://a.pomf.se/gvccnu.webm[/vid] webm is awesome
I saw this posted in a webm thread on /v/ yesterday [vid]http://a.pomf.se/gvccnu.webm[/vid] webm is awesome
Is that Trackmania? It has to be because the only time I have ever seen tracks like this is TMNF and TMUF
Is that Trackmania? It has to be because the only time I have ever seen tracks like this is TMNF and TMUF
It's TM2: Canyon.
Linked cus of the size http://puu.sh/81pL7.webm Sleeping Dogs looks nice in 60FPS
That's because APNG is retarded for the internet. It's just too large to be practical.
It depends on what you're using it for, it's not meant for video or anything like that (We have video for that use), it's meant for stuff like animated logos, things which would already compress very well with normal PNG. The biggest issue with APNG is that the PNG guys refuse to have anything to do with it (They're still pushing MNG, which is a long dead format), so groups like Debian disable it in their Firefox fork, and Microsoft/Apple have just ignored it.
Wow that little fucking brat.
Cut him some slack he's like two years old.
How come when I play Battlefield I easily get 60+ fps, but it never looks as smooth as this video?
You might not be playing with Vsync. The file being played it being played frame by frame without tearing, hence looking smoother.
Woo, WebM for Retards might be getting an extra setting or two because I bitched about the encode quality! :v:
