http://a.pomf.se/sfazee.webm Linking this one cause it's 1080p, I think my settings are pretty good now, this is 21.1MB. Might start messing with 2 pass encoding, see if I can get any better results.
Is the sound extremely low for anyone else? Youtube plays sound at a fairly good volume but these with sound enabled are extremely quiet and I have to raise my speakers to like nearly max volume to hear them. [editline]11th April 2014[/editline] Oh I'm fucking retarded my Firefox volume on the sound mixer was at like 5/100.
This is very good, GIFs are cool for super small images but I really hate those people who insist on showing everything in low-framerate, piss-poor quality, yet 30MB gifs
This is why Gfycat was made
VP8 vs VP9. (you will probably only see the second one only if you use Chrome)
Firefox on Windows seems to see it fine. Quality is noticeably better than VP9 at least.
VP8 vs VP9. (you will probably only see the second one only if you use Chrome)
I see both on chrome.
Also i see both on Maxthon Br.
I want youtube videos to be played as WebM videos. Waaaay better than their buggy HTML5 solution.
YouTube's HTML5 player has used WebM for years http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/20/youtube-starts-transcoding-all-new-uploads-to-webm-already-has/
This is pretty dope, a handy guide on how to make these?
[vid]http://a.pomf.se/mykrds.webm[/vid] 1.68mb This is actually really cool, I hope more places put this in so much easier than making gifs for things [editline]12th April 2014[/editline] Just gonna test one more video [vid]http://a.pomf.se/biiwmx.webm[/vid] 1.08mb
[vid]http://a.pomf.se/uhebfr.webm[/vid] 9MB. Completely new to this. There must be a better way to reduce the filesize without sacrificing resolution and quality.
9MB for that framerate/crispyness and sound just seems insanely small to me. holy shit.
Here's a comparison for you guys btw GIF = 4.5MB [vid]http://zippy.gfycat.com/AlertSpicyBlueandgoldmackaw.mp4[/vid] <video> html5 version: 286kb, 16 times smaller (facepunch doesnt have them set to autoplay, autoloop, and hide the control bar, but 4chan does I guess)
The gif is actually better quality in this case, takes a bit longer to load, but its higher FPS and has a sharper image [editline]12th April 2014[/editline]
[vid]http://a.pomf.se/uhebfr.webm[/vid] 9MB. Completely new to this. There must be a better way to reduce the filesize without sacrificing resolution and quality.
remove the audio, should be able to up the quality then, this is a much better example of what webm is capable of though :P [editline]12th April 2014[/editline]
- [editline]12th April 2014[/editline] What's that windows theme? It looks like windows classic with steam colors.
Probably exactly what you described, the colours are easy to change, at least in windows classic mode
VP9 is actually kind of nuts. 60fps, ~512kbps, resulting filesize is 773kB [vid]http://5.135.162.77/video/webm/60f512kVP9.webm[/vid] VP8 performs a lot worse (and has a bigger size, 943kB) [vid]http://5.135.162.77/video/webm/60f512kVP8.webm[/vid] However the video took, not kidding here, 1h10 to encode with VP9. The encoder is horrendously slow, it's mindblowingly bad in that regard.
Is that your place Max? Looks just as how I would imagine a cozy French area to look like.
That's the downside for anything that does really good compression, it takes forever for it to work as its doing so much.
The encoder is just really unoptimized right now, it's not even multi-threaded
The encoder is just really unoptimized right now, it's not even multi-threaded
Oh jeez that's pretty terrible.
Just gonna test one more video [vid]http://a.pomf.se/biiwmx.webm[/vid] 1.08mb
What is this show called?
What is this show called?
Robot Chicken?
What is this show called?
Moral Orel
This is pretty dope, a handy guide on how to make these?
WebM For Retards. Google it. I love making this shit. [vid]http://199.175.53.231/vidyas/ghost.webm[/vid]
Moral Orel
Actually it's from the special episode called Beforel Orel, same shit just thought I'd slot that in
[vid]http://a.pomf.se/uhebfr.webm[/vid] 9MB. Completely new to this. There must be a better way to reduce the filesize without sacrificing resolution and quality.
What Sonic game is that?
What Sonic game is that?
Sonic Generations for the PC.
Where can i upload my webms to share them here?
Where can i upload my webms to share them here?
I upload all mine to pomf.se, they have a 50MB file size limit which is pretty good. Puu.sh also lets you upload webms but I think their limit is like 5MB. If you don't like those there's always dropbox.
I upload all mine to pomf.se, they have a 50MB file size limit which is pretty good. Puu.sh also lets you upload webms but I think their limit is like 5MB.
Puu.sh, as far as I can tell, has no limit, or a much higher one. I've uploaded a 3 minute long 60fps 720p webm to it.
Do these support 120FPS or is 60 the highest
I can already call that facepunch is eventually going to automatically disable parsing of webm in quotes, or else some pages will take five minutes to load with an average internet connection.
Well apparently everyone on /gif/ is having a great time making 60 FPS porn clips.
4chan has 1080p videos at 60fps Youtube doesnt GG youtube
I tried. YouTube in the future really needs to add native support for 60fps playback. (Set playback speed to 2x in case you disabled annotations)
