I bet it's some Mediatek Series 30+ monstrosity that has nothing in common with the old Nokia 3310.
BEGONE WITH SUCH BLASPHEMOUS THOUGHTS [editline]16th February 2017[/editline]
I've been considering picking up one of those Sony Ericsson Walkman cell phones just for the nostalgia factor. And it's always nice to have a backup I guess. [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/Jojje_1487215281.jpg[/t] I think it's important to consider old tech to see how far we've come. This thing came out 11 years ago and now look where we are.
Damn those looked nice [editline]16th February 2017[/editline]
Kind of a cool thing to be honest, playing on people's nostalgia and bringing good memories back. Hey, I still remember my dad's first cellphone back in the late 90s - it was a super heavy and big motorola with those rubber buttons and a screen not much bigger than that of a regular pager(or even the same). And still back then it looked really cool.
My aunt had a motorola that even accepted AA batteries :v:

I just got an iPhone this may, and texting sucks so much with with a touchscreen vs T9 with keys:(
If the 3310 will be adapted to benefit from recent technological advancements, I'd gladly buy it for $60.
Ah, good. I was worried the Finnish military would run out of AP tank rounds.
Give it a lithium battery and it becomes APHE.
Give it a lithium battery and it becomes APHE.
no depleted uranium sabot rounds

[t]http://i.imgur.com/1YVxI3s.jpg[/t] Anyways, I can't see myself picking up an old phone unless they in the very least try to make it up to date. Better camera, microphone, WiFi card, an actual headphone jack slot.
If the 3310 will be adapted to benefit from recent technological advancements, I'd gladly buy it for $60.
All they really need to do is stick in modern battery technology, newer radios, perhaps a much more modern screen (surely we can push the boat out to coloured panels here?) and some updated software to take advantage of all that. The actual housing for those components doesn't need to change much at all, as the structure of that housing is where all the strength came from after all. New internals, same old casing.
You have been able to buy "refurbished" (but probably brand new from factory ghost runs) 3310s on AliExpress since forever, they're about $15. See e.g. here [editline]blah[/editline] Or you can buy them in bulk for $13 each.
