Doesn't Relic still have the Dawn of War license though, just not for Space Marine and other games?

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Shit I hoped it would go to EA
graviteam used these guys as an publisher. they're not bad. they're responsible for my physical copy of achtung panzer: operation star aka known as graviteam tactics nowadays basically slitherine caters to the niche of people who like their straight-up real time tactical games with no nonsense i dunno what to say, but if they can contract a pretty professional and passionate developement team to make a 40k title, i say go for it
They were pretty fucked off about DOW2, not giving a proper description of how 40k is meant to be big battles and lots of units.
No, they weren't; and furthermore it's the highest sold licensed GW product ever. Your opinion != facts.
*Executing Exterminatus*
No, seriously, we'd get awesome swag like DLC ON THE VERY FIRST DAY! I mean who else gives us DLC's so fast? And they're even so good they put them on the disc so if we buy them we don't have to download them cause they're already there! BRILLIANT!
Slitherine isn't a bad company. They're much more in touch with actual wargamers, most of their games are basically electronic wargames. There's nothing wrong with this.
Slitherine does not in any way shape or form understand dakka.
I'm pretty sure that Slitherine will just produce another Warhammer 40k: Squad Command stylish game for mobile platforms/PC just like that upcoming Space Hulk game while Relic starts openly producing Dawn of War 3 as soon as CoH 2 is released. There's no word at all about Relic losing it's license and it's not a new thing that there would be multiple Warhammer 40.000 games under production by different studios at the same time. Talking 'bout sensationalist headlines by presuming people.
never heard of slitherine, must not be that famous. It's sad that relic lost their license because they make great games off the 40K, now it seems that my beloved dawn of war series won't be in production anymore, and i won't see such promising titles anymore. I would still love to see a grand theft auto-like game in the Warhammer 40K setting though, best if rockstar makes it but that is just a dream.
This may have been hot shit when Steel Panthers was released in 95...let's take a look when this came out... Oh god this was released in 2011
Panzer Corps is actually a really solid strategy game, one of the best in its genre (hexagonal turn-based ww2 stuff). It's been getting positive reviews pretty much everywhere. Shouldn't slam it because of the graphics.
I would still love to see a grand theft auto-like game in the Warhammer 40K setting though, best if rockstar makes it but that is just a dream.
That idea just makes me imagine a guy in power armour gunning down cops in a modern day urban city :v:.
Shud've gun to Deffskulls, 'os dis wizurd cumpenee?
I kinda want a 40K game where im either an ork boss, continually growing larger and more popular. Or a Guardsman Commander, Gaining rank and the ability to requisition stronger units. Itd be a sort of Warband style game, where youd be busy both knocking down the enemy's elite and keeping your troops (or Boyz) in line. But apparently what we are likely to get is one of those dry tactic simulators. Wich are fine for their niche audience, but certainly wont get me exited.

I mentioned Steel Panthers which is a similar type of game and one of my favorites growing up, but if I could play something as visually and audibly immersive as Company of Heroes instead I probably would. Graphics aren't everything but I couldn't help but feel that it would benefit from an injection of modern visuals and audio. If I didn't have any idea what this genre was the video would almost come off as a parody.
It couldn't have been Paradox, or Total War, or something? Really does seem like they have a deathwish. 2Grimdark4me
ITT: Retards bash a wargame making company for making a wargame WH40K is a turn based wargame, you fucking idiots. Slitherine makes turn based wargames, solid ones too. You people just don't like it cuz it doesn't look pretty.
Why the fuck would they do this? DoW1 is one of the best RTS games ever made. Relic are fucking amazing.
DoW2 wasn't that stellar though. CoH is way better than DoW2.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing what they wind up making. And seeing as there's nothing that says Relic won't ever make another 40k themed RTS I'd say that's a nice sensationalist headline you've got there OP.
I refuse to believe this. For the sake of my sanity. Let's hope this small company proves itself to be great.

Relic did a good job making 40k games, and this company is unproven, and certainly hasn't made a game of similar quality or type. We aren't saying for sure they won't do well, but the decision is certainly concerning for fans of games like Dawn of War.
Are you stupid? You do realize WH40K is a tabletop wargame, right? Slitherine makes top notch wargames. The only reason you don't know about them is because wargames are extremely niche. Who says they are gonna make Dawn of War games??? 40K isn't Dawn of War. Its decades older and its roots are not RTS.
It couldn't have been Paradox, or Total War, or something? Really does seem like they have a deathwish. 2Grimdark4me
I thought Creative Assembly was making a 40k game. Relic's CoH mentality isn't what 40k should incorporate imo.

Lots of people don't like wargames or other kinds of turn based strategy games, obviously they're upset that they won't get (amazing) rts games. That's all there is to it. However, I didn't see anything about Relic losing the license. So I'm ok with this and looking forward to what Slitherine brings forth (pleasebegoodpleasebegood).
What effect does this have on SPACE HULK, if any?
I thought Creative Assembly was making a 40k game. Sometimes it seems like I'm the only person who preferred DoWII to the original.
