I do not know or have never heard of anyone who any of these things has happened to. And if they did they would be all over the news.
They happen all the time. So frequently infact, that they are such a common occurance that the news doesn't bother covering it.
A trained soldier could fire between 2 and 3 shots a minute.
An idiot could fire 2-3 a minute, I can fire about 5 with period weapons. Not to mention the loads of multishot weapons that existed back then.
I really thought Facepunch loved Obama and guns.

In america maybe. Certainly not here where the slightest of things makes the news.
I don't have the stats off the top of my head but I don't think its a coincidence that a murder rate that was rising for decades drops significantly once gun legislation is introduced. If I can find the time I'll try to dig through some stats I collected when I had to write my mock-congress bill.
Nothing with those attributes is more lethal than guns without those attributes.

I don't know where you live so I can't really comment, I'm assuming you live somewhere in the UK where weapons are banned. Do correct me if I'm wrong.

Facepunch is not a hivemind, stop treating it like one.

I'm pretty sure a gun with a grenade launcher is more lethal than a gun without a grenade launcher.
Are grenade launchers not lethal? :v:
You guys are always quick to say "you don't know anything about the US" while the same goes for you about the UK. Except we know more about the US than you do about the UK as we actually care about what happens in the US.

I do indeed.

Exactly. We're not reddit.
I'm pretty sure a gun with a grenade launcher is more lethal than a gun without a grenade launcher.
Are grenade launchers not lethal?
I wasn't aware grenade launcher homicide was a thing, but I guess you're right
And those specifically target rifle grenades like that on the M1 Garand
I'm pretty sure a gun with a grenade launcher is more lethal than a gun without a grenade launcher.
Are grenade launchers not lethal?
Grenade launchers are already considered destructive devices and are nearly impossible for a civilian to acquire.
I'll ask again, can you prove to me that those gun laws are consequential and not coincidental.

This is proof of statistics being coincidental, not consequential.
So you're saying that unless someone provides statistics to back them up, they're wrong and, when they do, if it doesn't agree with what you think, the statistics are a coincidence?
Cool.
I mean rifle grenades
I'm pretty sure a gun with a grenade launcher is more lethal than a gun without a grenade launcher.
Are grenade launchers not lethal?
Except the grenades for them are sold literally nowhere, and it states that you can't have a barrel attachment to launch grenades with, like ones used in WWII.

thank god they banned that!!!!
I'm pretty sure a gun with a grenade launcher is more lethal than a gun without a grenade launcher.
Are grenade launchers not lethal?
Grenade launchers are rather difficult to get. And i cant cite a single time a shooter utilized a grenade launcher to commit a crime in the U.S.
You guys are always quick to say "you don't know anything about the US" while the same goes for you about the UK.
I obviously can't speak for everyone, but I personally don't like to comment about places I don't live in.
Except we know more about the US than you do about the UK as we actually care about what happens in the US.
Says the person who thinks people defending themselves with firearms doesn't happen. Just saying.
Is it bad I read "Obama calls for assa" on the front page and thought he demanded the assassination of some foreign leader?
So you're saying that unless someone provides statistics to back them up, they're wrong and, when they do, if it doesn't agree with what you think, the statistics are a coincidence?
Cool.
What he is saying sounds like bullshit to me and unless he proves otherwise I consider it bullshit. If he proves otherwise I will concede. God forbid I ask people to prove what they're saying is true!!!1
Grenade launchers are already considered destructive devices and are nearly impossible for a civilian to acquire.
I'm aware, the point was he said that nothing on the list made a gun more lethal and grenade launchers were on the list :v:
Grenade launchers are already considered destructive devices and are nearly impossible for a civilian to acquire.
You also have to pay a $200 tax stamp for each grenade even if you can find one, which means you'll have to pass very rigorous background checks and get the purchase approved by your local authorities.
Except we know more about the US than you do about the UK as we actually care about what happens in the US.
What an ignorant statement
[editline]sadf[/editline]
This is just more of your bullshit elitism.

Just out of curiosity, why do you care what happens in the US?

Because you never hear about the time someone had a gun in their home that turned out to be utterly useless in a burglary or what have you.
I'm aware, the point was he said that nothing on the list made a gun more lethal and grenade launchers were on the list :v:
Well then, At this point youre debating semantics.
Just out of curiosity, why do you care what happens in the US?
Because it's one of the biggest and most powerful countries on this shit earth.
I'm pretty sure a gun with a grenade launcher is more lethal than a gun without a grenade launcher.
Are grenade launchers not lethal?
That law refers to rifle grenades, that became obsolete a long time ago and are not only impossible to find, but also already classed as destructive devices and requiring registration, a six months waiting period, and a $200 tax applied to each projectile (which already has an obscene price itself, due to being rarer than a unicorn in a continent-sized haystack).
[editline]Blibbity fucks[/editline]
God damn I type slowly.

Lets look at the facts here, since this legislation is meant to prevent mass shootings, we'll examine those.
In all the mass shootings we've had in the past years (I believe 61) not a single gunman has been taken down by a citizen with a gun. Columbine had an armed security force, as did the mall outside of Portland.
Citizens stopping gun murders with their own guns are a very rare occurrence.

It was more of a joke but alright.

So then how do smaller magazines help if nobody's gonna interrupt a shooting?
