Because they didn't have as many guns to begin with, and the gun control measures were in effect decades ago thus slowly eroding the amount of firearms
boom my point exactly! how about we start cracking down now so a few decades ago we can have a smaller problem on our hands?
Why do you keep saying this? This assertion is blatantly contradicted by the fact the over 90% of gun owners do not kill people. They are used for competitions, hunting, and other recreation.
i forgot to mention hunting but I don't think sports shooting is an actual function. it's not a utility. a sport could be invented around the use of RPGs but I wouldn't see that as an argument in favor of their legality
How is it inaccurate? What do sports cars do other than kill people?
Intentional vs. accidental.
do you actually have an argument against the argument that I used so that my statement specifically wouldn't be arbitrary?
You claimed the internet is little more than snail mail. This is demonstrably false. Yet the constitution still applies. Technologically advanced weapons that we have today are under the protection of the second amendment, it's intentionally not mentioning muskets, or weapons of the time, it was not designed with short term in mind. Breaching it to apply rules to weapons that we have now in a fear induced knee-jerk response to tumultous times. We've spoke about this before, yeah, weapon proliferation is a problem and it's clear it's only a small part of it and tackling that part of the problem isn't going to have the desired effect. You want to reduce gun culture, you think forcibly removing weapons is going to diminish that culture? Seriously?
How is it inaccurate? What do sports cars do other than kill people?
get people from point A to point B fast and conveniently? how many people can you think of who went on a murder spree with a sports car??
boom my point exactly! how about we start cracking down now so a few decades ago we can have a smaller problem on our hands?
Because disabled and elderly people can't learn other means of self defense, and actually need firearms so they aren't seen as vulnerable and get robbed or assaulted.
Intentional vs. accidental.
Regardless they're made for purposes of extreme speed, and handling. None of these things are applicable on modern roads and yet exceedingly commonly those cars are used in street races and other illegal street events.
get people from point A to point B fast and conveniently? how many people can you think of who went on a murder spree with a sports car??
Why do you need a sports car why don't you just get a toyota camry?
i forgot to mention hunting but I don't think sports shooting is an actual function. it's not a utility. a sport could be invented around the use of RPGs but I wouldn't see that as an argument in favor of their legality
I know better than to ask, but are you naive? I'm just asking because only a child could come up with the concept of precision shooting with rockets as a sport.
You want to reduce gun culture, you think forcibly removing weapons is going to diminish that culture? Seriously?
yes.
Sports cars are death machine that murder our children. Frankly, we should ban all these assault vehicles.
get people from point A to point B fast and conveniently? how many people can you think of who went on a murder spree with a sports car??
The problem is that you can't name any because vehicular homicide isn't really reported on that much because it's a common thing, compared to the occasional shooting.
i dunno learn some martial arts ffs,
Anyone who learns martial arts so they can defend themselves against a mugger with a knife or a gun is an idiot. End of story. You're not Bruce Lee, you won't win that fight, you'll end up bleeding out on the pavement.
personally i am not paranoid enough to believe that i am in danger every time i go out in public
How lucky of you to live in such a wonderful neighborhood. But whether you realize it or not, the danger is always there. Nobody carries a gun because the expect to get attacked every time they go outside, they carry a gun because it can happen and they need to be ready. You also neglect that much of self-defense is conducted within the home, against often-armed intruders.
if there were fewer guns, you wouldn't need a fucking gun to defend yourself from the criminals with guns because there would simply be fewer guns
Obviously true. The key here is that 'banning guns' does not equal 'fewer guns carried by criminals', it means 'fewer guns carried by non-criminals'. With 300 million guns in private circulation, a border to Mexico, and rampant drug trade, we have zero chance of being able to actually get guns away from criminals, and disarmament only hurts law-abiding citizens.

Seriously?
yeah i do, notice how trains used to be a huge part of american culture, but over time the government funded them less and less, and now people hardly ever use trains except for freight when the government makes a change, you can't expect it to be instant, but it WILL have an effect over time
yes.
well then you're deluded into thinking you can take something away from people in such a manner and be successful for it
Sports cars are death machine that murder our children. Frankly, we should ban all these assault vehicles.
Subway trains too, they kill people. No one needs the subway train.
I know better than to ask, but are you naive? I'm just asking because only a child could come up with the concept of precision shooting with rockets as a sport.
RPG fishing. It's been done.
and look at fucking cigarettes, they're being rapidly pushed out of the american culture and lifestyle
yeah i do, notice how trains used to be a huge part of american culture, but over time the government funded them less and less, and now people hardly ever use trains except for freight when the government makes a change, you can't expect it to be instant, but it WILL have an effect over time
Oh that sure worked with drugs or alcohol
yes.
Forcibly trying to take a gun from a honest citizen will only result in a distrust of the government and the deaths of a man trying to do his job. Also it would have the government impeach the president as it violates the constitution on multiple marks.
I know better than to ask, but are you naive? I'm just asking because only a child could come up with the concept of precision shooting with rockets as a sport.
not only am I a child, but I'll also save you any trouble you might have in the future by admitting to being a big fat baby and a huge fucker, too.
By his posts. SigmaLambda supports sending Police officers to his deaths.
and look at fucking cigarettes, they're being rapidly pushed out of the american culture and lifestyle
they're not getting banned, it's unlikely they'll get a flat out ban any time soon i get wanting to keep people safe, but do you really want to stop people from being able to make their own decisions?
Why do you need a sports car why don't you just get a toyota camry?
you see, you're not making a very good comparison here im saying "why do you need guns at all?" if you were to ask "why do you need cars at all?" i could come up with a ton of reasons but you're asking about a specific class of cars i could also ask you about a specific class of guns, but instead i am asking you about guns as a whole
Banning something isn't always the answer. I.E: prohibition. That actually created MUCH MORE crime by the creation of organized crime,
Forcibly trying to take a gun from a honest citizen will only result in a distrust of the government and the deaths of a man trying to do his job.
lol "don't you dare take away guns from honest, peaceful citizens who apparently have no qualms about shooting cops to protect their guns"
yeah i do, notice how trains used to be a huge part of american culture, but over time the government funded them less and less, and now people hardly ever use trains except for freight when the government makes a change, you can't expect it to be instant, but it WILL have an effect over time
People still use trains a lot for transport. It's just only if there's a city or crossing between cities. The united states is a really really really large country and it's just easier and more flexible to use cars. The highway system made it so that trans continental passenger was redundant.
they're not getting banned, it's unlikely they'll get a flat out ban any time soon i get wanting to keep people safe, but do you really want to stop people from being able to make their own decisions?
yeah if their decision involves shooting up a school, i totally want to stop them
im saying "why do you need guns at all?" if you were to ask "why do you need cars at all?" i could come up with a ton of reasons but you're asking about a specific class of cars i could also ask you about a specific class of guns, but instead i am asking you about guns as a whole
People are giving you very valid reasons that justify owning a firearm, but you're dismissing them as paranoid or lazy.
You say you want to get rid of all guns. Yet the only way to remove guns is to use guns and possibly kill people to get them. So you aren't anti-gun.
