Toxic? It sustains life on the planet - plants, etc. Not acidic, unless mixed with water. It reflects heat, which sustains life on the planet. Without CO2, life on this planet would not exist (at least in our likeness) - you can't pollute with CO2.
Humans need oxygen and water to survive, but too much of either is lethal. Nature is mostly about balance.
Global Warming is real, but [editline]09:58PM[/editline] I don't think its manmade
It's certainly influenced by us...
I wonder what the world would be like if Al Gore had become President in 2001. Crazy shit awesome different I imagine.
Global Warming is real, but [editline]09:58PM[/editline] I don't think its manmade
Only a miniscule part of the effect is due to us. It is a lot more natural than we are commonly led to believe.
Only a miniscule part of the effect is due to us. It is a lot more natural than we are commonly led to believe.
led to believe because anyone who doesn't think like you is a fucking idiot right k
Hey, either it works and we're saved, or it doesn't and we all die anyway.
OR, it's not what we think it is and we blow all of our money on the wrong efforts and spend the next several centuries in poverty AND pre-apocalyptia.
OR, it's not what we think it is and we blow all of our money on the wrong efforts and spend the next several centuries in poverty AND pre-apocalyptia.
Dude from what your saying is we shouldnt prepare for any apocalyptic scenario just incase we prepare for the wrong one.
:words: It's a natural cycle that the planet goes through :words:
I freaking hate when anyone uses this argument. Even if it is all a natural cycle, that doesn't mean it won't fuck us over!
I freaking hate when anyone uses this argument. Even if it is all a natural cycle, that doesn't mean it won't fuck us over!
So we should stop a cycle thats worked well? It's garunteed that humans will survive almost anything thrown at us somehow, were like fucking cockroaches.
So we should stop a cycle thats worked well? I'm talking about the cycles that involve, you know, ice ages. The short-term cycles with the small temperature fluctuations (see chart somewhere on the first page) like we're dealing with now aren't anything to be concerned about, they usually mellow out. Yes, we are like cockroaches in that we'll find a way to survive, but that doesn't mean it won't take a massive toll on society and technology. We'd adapt but it's gonna seriously fuck some shit up first.
I freaking hate when anyone uses this argument. Even if it is all a natural cycle, that doesn't mean it won't fuck us over!
Back before recorded history started (aka before 1980,) in the medieval times the global temperatures were actually warmer than they are right now. Why do humans continue to thrive and survive? We are very capable of adapting ourselves in order to survive many different scenarios. If we couldn't adapt we wouldn't be having this argument right now. Besides, everybody in this forum knows that Canada, Russia and any other colder countries would make up for any loss of crops since warmer temperatures would mean longer growing seasons and a dream come true for their farmers, right?
Dude from what your saying is we shouldnt prepare for any apocalyptic scenario just incase we prepare for the wrong one.
What I'm saying is that we shouldn't be preparing for the apocalypse at all. Because it isn't the apocalypse. [editline]06:46PM[/editline] And if it IS the apocalypse, do you seriously trust the men in power to take a FUCK TON of money and then fix everything with it rather than blowing it on stupid shit as per usual?
My daddy told me we don't have an effect on the earth, that it's just the liberal media spoonfeeding you bullshit. Daddy owns 16 oil companies so he knows what he's talking about. :downs:

Seriously though that's what I mean, we can't just sit around when that Ice Age comes now can we? I'm not saying necessarily that we have to go through extreme preventative measures now, just that if it does happen, it's going to cause some drastic changes in the future. Aw fuck it, I don't know what I'm talking about anymore.
I believe that global warming is natural and C02 levels have been rising constantly pretty much everywhere in the world, isn't that a hint. I think all we're going to do is make an iceage happen, loads of people in 3rd world countries will die etc etc then things will slowly begin to go back to normal until it repeats itself as it has been shown to do in the past.
I would rather die than be Jar Jar Binks
I would rather die than be Jar Jar Binks
But it's a bubble home. Who doesn't want to live in a bubble? :v:
I WOULD RATHER DIEe
because anyone who doesn't think like you is a fucking idiot right k
oh be quiet, that's your argument style in every thread or perhaps you'd prefer "get out" or maybe "faggot"
How can you stop something that doesn't exist?
ITT people think all scientists are wrong about global warming despite the fact that none of the people in this thread have any sort of scientific degree or has ever conducted research of their own global warming isn't a goddamned political issue for you to disagree with, it's backed up by science [editline]07:42PM[/editline]
How can you stop something that doesn't exist?
hurrrrrrrr [editline]07:45PM[/editline]
I'll be the first to say fuck mother nature in her butt. I honestly couldn't give less of a damn about anything. UGH MASSACRING THE PLANET what the fuck ever I still want a bigass hummer.
Uhh, uh, lankist; nature is sort of important. You know all those millions of poor people in 3rd world countries who have to fish and hunt every day just to get food to eat? They sort of need nature for their survival.
The "environmentally friendly" bullshit is just an excuse to tax the shit out of people.
Wow that's pretty paranoid. [editline]07:47PM[/editline]
even penn & teller said we don't fucking know
oh yes and Penn Gilette has a degree in Climatology so I know I can trust him he does have a degree in Climatology, right? well, at least teller has one, right? Neither of them do? Well then how the heck can they tell me that all of the people that do have degrees in Climatology are wrong?
Wow that's pretty paranoid.
And to think environmentalism hasn't always been used as justification for the assertion of further control over the masses is naive as hell. Pop quiz! Which President passed the Endangered Species act? [editline]09:49PM[/editline]
oh yes and Penn Gilette has a degree in Climatology so I know I can trust him he does have a degree in Climatology, right?
He's referring to the fact that Penn and Teller said they, as in the duo, do not know. That they are neither experts nor scientists and that they aren't qualified to make a statement on the general idea of climate change, but instead aim their criticism at the exploitation of climate change as a tool of profit and politics. He wasn't saying Penn and Teller don't know therefore nobody knows, he's saying Penn and Teller don't know therefore Penn and Teller, two renowned skeptics, do not make broad statements on the science of the issue.
