This makes lenin a hipster.
2 weeks later: *Kim's gone*
Y'know, I wouldn't mind being put out like this after I die, but only if it's only my skeleton and they put red LEDs in my eye sockets, so I can scare little kids.
Naw they should totally stuff you and put red leds behind the fake eyes
;34188580']Like Lenin and Mao?
You know how they tend to Lenin's corpse? Shit tons of makeup, daily formaldehyde baths, stuffing, wax replacement, etc. In all reality he's a shriveled nasty waxy skeleton. He tissues have been mostly replaced by basically leather through years of chemical baths and makeup application.
It's a fucking disgrace that they would shove him up there for decades like a doll instead of giving him a proper fucking burial. But whatever, this is Kim Jong now. His egotistical loonie ass probably would want it. Let em do it, I guess. The Dear Leader will live on in death.
It's been nearly 90 goddamn years since he died
2 weeks later: *Kim's gone*
Then they tell the koreans that he was picked up by god and that he is watching over them or shit
Kim Jong-il died of a heart attack on 17 December at the age of 69.
I see what you did there, Kim Jong.
-[REMOVED]
it's probably so they can later on remove the body and claim he has resurrected
A new Jesus!
They were taught from birth that their leader is pretty much a god. They really do believe they are the best country in the world because of the lies their government has told them, they probably don't even know about how other countries are and how much they're being oppressed
All you'd have to do is show them a post card of Times Square at about 3 PM to convert the entire populace. Just look, that one city block sucks up more electricity than your entire country provides, and look at how packed full the streets are of people enjoying themselves and going about their daily rituals. The capital of North Korea barely has anyone moving about at all, even at peak hours
can we please put strings on him so we can make a live action Team America movie?
Is that Kim Jong Il or Sung's body?
Welp.
Kim Jong-il has been succeeded by his son Kim Jong-un, who is believed to be in his late 20s.
I like how it's not even certain how old the current dictator is.
What is up with communists and displaying bodies?
It's a bit weird.

It was an original thing with Lenin, then China and North Korea just copied.
As a matter of fact, China and North Korea have copied just about every cultural ritual and style the USSR ever had.

wait? they dont know how old he is?

It's like it was recorded off a TV with a really old cameraphone, then someone else recorded it again with their phone off that screen.
Displaying the body reinforces my love that he is dead.
Every. Day.
Are you kidding? They may be isolated but not retarded. There is a ridicolous amount of North Koreans trying to escape the country, incluiding their own military. The others are forced to act as if they considered their Glorious Leaders as deities or face forced labour in fucking coal mines until they and their families die of starvation.
Sorry, it's just that saying they really like living like that is so naive and ignorant.
You're right I didn't think about it that way. Even the most brainwashed person can understand that somethings not right when a government treats them like that
wait? they dont know how old he is?
There's very little info surrounding the Kim family. Kim Jong-il's real birthdate (and year) for example is not known by anyone outside of his family it seems.
What was that? Is this how they portray Great Vladimir Lenin? Televised western trash seems to be all the rave these days.
You must be that kid who wears a ushanka to school with the hammer and sickle pin on the front, Who also preaches shit about communism. Let me guess. You also spend every lunch period in the computer lab.

Its known by everyone. He was also 6 months pre-mature and walked out of the womb, proving the entire best korean medical system was unneeded and outdated. His coming was also told by a hummingbird.
I am not sure why people think this is gross and weird. I suppose in a way, it is, but I think it is a great way to reflect back on history. I mean can you imagine how amazing it would be to see ancient civilizations leaders or notable people from history preserved today? Even seeing the past presidents of the US on display would be cool.
He still has to be taken out for maintenance however.
I visited Moscow in '99, couldn't see Lenin because he was under maintenance.
I was 8 at the time so it probably would have freaked me out anyways.
Will he be wearing the traditional khaki military suit thing and his glasses?
The weirdest/dumbest thing is that there are people from other countries actually paying to enter north korea and visit it, as any tourist would do with another country. Needless to say, this isn't a good thing at all.
Tourism is good for everyone. Why the heck is it a bad thing?
