i hate the idea of sticking contact lenses in my eyes, could we have this in the form of prescription glasses?
But glasses are so uncomfortable, why'd you even wear them instead of contacts? Disgregarding medical reasons, of course.
because the idea of sticking anything in my eye is very unappealing. also i'm a very aesthetic person, glasses are part of a look i want
I guess so, but I'm more scared of glasses breaking and glass getting in my eyes, honestly.
Oh come on, millions of people wear glasses every day and never encounter this problem. Modern spectacles aren't made with glass, they're made with some kind of plastic, I'm pretty sure. That does remind me of a story about some Soviet kid who had shitty Soviet-made glasses and when someone punched him in the face, they broke and cut him in the eye. Once he took off his eyepatch after the eye had healed, it turned out that the glasses had only cut away just enough of his lens/cornea that the abnormal shape of his eye was corrected and he could see perfectly fine after that. Maybe it's an urban legend, though.
I guess so, but I'm more scared of glasses breaking and glass getting in my eyes, honestly.
Most modern day glasses aren't made with actual glass anymore, you have to have a specific eye problem or specifically order them that way. Glass does have its benefits, - more durable, less prone to scratching, lasts longer due to lack of flexing in the material - but for most people the normal plastic is best. Especially since your eyes tend to get slowly worse over time, meaning you need a new set after a couple years or so anyway. Furthermore, against your argument for them being uncomfortable; I've been wearing glasses for closing in on about 7 or years, and the only time they become uncomfortable is when I'm trying to lay on my side - which I shouldn't be doing while wearing them anyway - or after an extended period with tight headsets. Aside from mine correcting my vision, they're also very useful for protection. My glasses have kept plenty of things out of my eyes that I wasn't able to avoid otherwise.
I'd prefer if they just made more practical night vision glasses. Like just put it in a pair of glasses like google glasses instead of contacts. Just seems safer.
I'd rather not have graphene anywhere near my eyes
during broad daylight.
