I agree with some points Anita makes, I think the discussion she has caused is an interesting one and one that I think can be fruitful for games as a medium but I can't at all justify this. This reminds me of Jack Thompson.
Although there is a lot of dumb anachronistic things within the concept of masculinity. I just don't think school shootings tie into it.

She never says games are inherently misogynistic, but when she claims that "Hitman: Absolution" is sexist and enables sick sexual desires because you for about 2 minutes of the game in one level out of 30 or something see a pair of strippers that you can kill but you're not supposed to and even get punished for doing so is kinda fabricating evidence and painting a bullshit story.

The point is that they come at things with a certain political opinion. They don't come at it from the perspective of the industry they're claiming to represent, they come at it with the perspective of "how can I get my voice heard as loudly as possible."
They're like the priests at megachurches. They play it up, be loud, appeal to the weaker minded who will listen to their garbage, regardless of whether or not they know what the hell they're talking about, and people give them money.
Sarkeesian didn't even record her own footage for her videos, she took it from other youtubers. She has said before that she's not a gamer, and she doesn't like games. She and other people of her breed have come out attacking "gamers", insulting them.
Imagine if someone made their career about getting more women into programming and CS, and then started a campaign against programmers, saying "Programmers are garbage, fuck programmers."

If she had a valid opinion on the games she could come up with it on the spot. Sarkeesian's entire thesis about video games being violent against women relies on her own misinformation as well as the misinformed nature of those who listen. When she says stuff like "Red Dead Redemption is sexist because you see whores getting killed and you can also kill them yourself", it's not fruitful to any degree, it's just misinformed finger-pointing.

I don't know the context, I doubt it was very expressed that these strippers are some vulnerable, critter-like innocent that you are [I]allowed[/I] to impose your desires upon but I think its smart for games to have those options. I'm not saying everything she has said is true and tried, but for the most part I believe that she has revealed to a lot of people some very dumb and uninteresting ways to make characters and drama in addition to being the catalyst for a lot of good discussion on both sides of the matter.
